Thanks heaps for creating this wonderful memory of Billy who added so much colour and joy to our lives with his amazing music and personality. Wondering if he managed to get that DVD of Beatle songs completed before he passed.
Concert for George....Brilliant except for the Python clip but I get why they did it...I haven't seen it in years..... might play it now......Mad dogs and English men too!!!!
I'm nearly sure someone was asking if u2 played before queen at live aid. U2 played In the middle of the afternoon it was day light when queen Hit the stage it was a perfect setting we can All remember radio Gaga with Freddie and the crowd

People get this wrong all the time (even in Preston's obituaries, sadly). It was Billy Peterson, not Billy Preston, who played with Bob Dylan (even at The Concert For Bangladesh Preston did not play on the Dylan performances). Their names are so similar, and Peterson so relatively unknown, that I imagine people just assumed it was Billy Preston and the error seems to have embedded itself. You mean My Sweet Lord. I have seen it on YT recently. There are/were 2 posts of it. One on the Billy Preston channel, and another on the George memorial concert (whatever it’s called). Hope you find one. Such an awesome Spiritual experience. One of my fav YT videos.
I've never understood what drives the Rock & Roll hall of fame, or makes it tick. Politics maybe? I'm glad Billy was finally recognized for his contributions to music. He was a uniquely gifted musician, and if anyone deserves the "honor," it's him! RIP Billy. 🎹🎹🎹🎹
Billy Preston was a talented backup musician for the Beatles, Stones, etc. Let's not try to rewrite history and turn him into an after the fact Beatle and/or Rolling Stone. He's no John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger, or George Harrison. Eric Clapton is one of the greatest, if not the greatest, rock guitarists who also collaborated with the Beatles and Stones and was involved with some of their songs. However, he was not a member of the Beatles or Rolling Stones.
Sheer beauty in his creativity, his art & his contributions to Rock-n-Roll. What a humble, beautiful man...

Isn't it weird that he thinks he played on the White album where in actual fact apart from the Let It Be sessions he played on 2 songs on Abbey Rd?
