    I've got the M6 too, it's great. Good tip on the door opener for those with a single bay door.
    I ran electric conduit to the ceiling and put the H lines in that. Left the pump on the stand against the wall and ran that side through the conduit at doorway height. That extra height is cool but not needed imo. I can sit in an old office chair under a vehicle and just lean back and it's perfect. Really no need to stand up. Plus that won't even work on most vehicles since you have to have the clearance in the first place to put them under the vehicle. Still pretty inventive, not sure I'd do that though could make it easier to tip. In looking at it more I know I wouldn't do that, not worth the possible consequences. The vehicle needs to be resting on the arms. Cars can tip you have to be super careful load balancing them, so I would not do that.

    Offsetting the gare door will only work if you have a torsion spring setup on the door. It will not work on an extension spring setup where there are 2 independent springs. The door will lift crooked. Good idea though for torsion.

    Definitely good video, as I’ve been in looking into something like how you have in a garage. I have low ceilings too. Definitely need to make a video of how you did the height steel.

      I don’t have any other videos taken of the opener with the new bracket. However, the operation of the door is exactly the same as with the centered opener. Once you have the bracket, you just need to move the opener over a maximum of 4 feet. Depending on your opener and outlet location, you may need to extend your power and sensor wiring. I do also believe that you must have a torsion spring setup. I don’t think you can use an offset opener with an extension spring, since the spring force isn’t equalized with extension springs. Here is the information on the bracket. It is a 21” Clopay Opener Reinforcement Bracket. It is SKU#135317 at Home Depot. It comes with instructions and the install is pretty straight forward. You will also need a piece of wood to mount the opener rail to. Here is a link to the bracket. www.homedepot.com/p/Clopay-21-in-Opener-Reinforcement-Bracket-Kit-4125479/100069364

      I used this tip and it worked great. I put the opener about 4 inches inside the track and it opens just fine (single door). I also inclined the track by 10 degrees to increase clearance. The extra bracket wasn’t necessary, I just took the existing bracket and relocated it to the side.

    What did you use to bent the hard pipe and what dod you use to make the connection between the hard pipe and the flex line Thanks

    • @HeBeGB501
      @HeBeGB501  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The hard lines were bent with a heavy duty brake line bender. I will say that the bender almost wasn't heavy duty enough. I mounted the bender in a vise to be able to bend the tube. For the connections, I believe everything was 3/8" 37 degree flares. I just went to a local hydraulics shop and told them what fittings were on the line currently and they helped to get the right adapters to go from hardline to the flex lines.

      I ordered the material online. I believe the company was Coremark Metals. There are a few places to order metal online though. You may also want to check with a local steel yard to see if they have any cut pieces of the tubing.

    did you install the standard anchor? how are they holding up? would you recommend doing the epoxy anchors instead?

    • @HeBeGB501
      @HeBeGB501  ปีที่แล้ว

      I went back and forth on if I should use epoxy anchors or the standard ones. The epoxy anchors ended up being on backorder so I just used the standard ones. They installed easily and haven’t given me any problems so far. Just make sure you clean ALL of the dust out of the holes. On my first anchor, I didn’t get it as clean as it should be and the anchor slipped a little more than the rest, before biting in. It still tightened just fine though.

      I am very satisfied with this lift. BendPak now has their Grand Prix series that is more of a conventional 2-post lift that will fit in lower ceiling height garages. For most people, in a normal garage, this Dannmar M6/ Maxjax is probably a better option.

    Have you encountered any tasks you couldn't do because the lift doesn't go high enough?

    • @HeBeGB501
      @HeBeGB501  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I haven’t had any issues with tasks yet. So far it has been just like having a normal 2-post lift but shorter. The only real down side is that you have to sit on a stool instead of standing up. If you don’t have the ceiling height for a full size lift this one is still waaay better than laying on the ground.

    • @HeBeGB501
      @HeBeGB501  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven’t measured to confirm but the advertised maximum pad height, without extensions, is 47.5”. The manual lists a 46” lift height. So, I assume 47.5” is at the top of the cylinder travel and 46” is the top lock position. They also have 7 locks that are spaced 3” apart. Assuming that 46” is the top lock position, the lowest lock would be about 25”. They also have a calculator on their website where you can enter your ceiling height, vehicle height, and ground clearance to see how high your car will lift at each lock position. www.maxjax.com/measure/

    How wide is your garage door? are the posts centered to the door?

    • @HeBeGB501
      @HeBeGB501  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The door on the bay with the lift is 9ft wide. I the columns aren’t centered with the opening. The columns are set at 91” of drive thru space between the arms. One of the columns is set with the arms in line with the door opening, while the other is offset by 17”. This gives me enough room between that offset column and the wall. All of this puts the centerline of the columns 8.5” offset from the centerline of the door opening.
