After watching part 1 and part 2 I subbed immediately. There is something so satisfying about this really. It felt like I was watching W3R cinematics really. The Reforged models do look good even if they were pulled from an rts game (though at the same time that is kinda the problem for W3R, too much level of detail). Other than I have one caveat from part 1: in comparison with the tutorial orc mission, the last scene with Thrall and Mediv seemed odd. I thought there was a sea there. Besides that I'm really excited to see next episodes in the future. For Azeroth!
You, sir, have earned a faithful subscriber. This is simply amazing, considering the limitations you're working with! The camera work is the best I've seen so far in a Warcraft-related machinima! Keep fighting the good fight !
I laugh so much when the footmen and grunts clashed. Its like they be using toy plastic swords, shields, and axe. Medival Nerf Rn. Though this is awesome work
I havent played wow for a while, you know since the whole lawsuit tsunami started, but your animations show you are passionate :D and i love your effort. Amazing work my friend... amazing!
Amazing work! however, dont forget Arthas is a mayor character (and Falric a supporting one, based on Rise of the Lich King, excellent novel). Dont leave them for the end of the battle and dont be afraid to exploit their personalities. The prince is brave but humble, well known for fighting alongside his men and never leaving anyone behind (until Stratholme where his personality is changed forever, looking for revenge rather than justice). He's a paladin, so he'd heal whoevers injured, and would never leave them crippled like at the end of the video hahaha. Falric is his faithful protector, since Arthas was a kid. An experienced fighter with an unbreakable friendship. Wherever Arthas goes, Falric (and Marwyn) follow. During the fighting, there was too much focus on the clash between orcs and humans, like excessive time. You can use some of the screens for the characters, to make it well balanced. I love the combination of W3 and Wow models. Keep up this outstanding job. We're looking forward to see how much you will improve with each posted video! PD: Arthas beloved steed, Invincible, died with his front legs broken due to a fall. This happened before Arthas could learn how to summon the Light, when he was just a boy. Invincible's death shocked the prince to the core and is what motivated him become a paladin and use the light to save his people. Seeing in this video how Arthas crushed the front legs of the Slave Master' horse without hesitation was a little shocking xD
Great job man ! Got a sub Instantly! cant wait for more stuff! Awesome animations! Would be cool if maybe you get a few more conversations or shouts in instead of only ''For Lordaeron / For The Hord" but i dont know how hard that is :) Anyways keep it up ! :D
I'm mostly reusing the voice lines from Warcraft 3, and in some cases I'm pullling from the audio from WoW as well, so there's a limited set of dialogue to work from. I try to be creative and find dialogue from WoW that works in the right situation. But I'll take your point and try to improve with some variations. Thanks for subbing!
i'm glad you enjoyed it. The next two episodes are actually mostly done, but i'm working on improving a few things, mainly getting the face to animate/lip sync with the dialogue
@@AmitCinematicUniverse In this episode the only difference between the orc models was the color of the shoulder armor. Here the shoulder armor is black vs the later episodes were Thrall's orcs wear red. I could have made it more clear and had some of the orcs carrying Black Rock banners or something.
I might have a soft spot for the dwarves. I feel like they don't get as much focus as some of the other Alliance races so I wanted to make sure they had a chance to shine!
Hi, again 👋🏻 Good work. A couple of small points, much like the previous video, the marching in single file looks a bit stiff and unnatural, and the sounds don't quite match the characters' movements. At 3:50 for instance, the grunts are running over the ground, and also trampling the footman corpses, but the only sound they make is of quick movements on gravelly ground. And then the grunt who picks up his axe steps very heavily, and jingles a lot. His armour plates are all sitting on leather or fur and don't come in contact with each other, he has no spurs, nor is he wearing any mail, so he shouldn't really jingle.
thanks for your feedback. I'm continuing to try to improve sound effects. I'm digging through all the different sound effects that are in WoW, Warcraft 3, as well as some royalty free sound effect websites. Sometimes finding just the right sound effect is difficult and I have to make do with what I've got. That being said, there's always room for improvement. Thanks again for the feedback
@@savingthewow5792 If you need some help for sound effects, don't hesitate! I have a folder with a lot of Warcraft 3 sounds. I'm not an expert too, but I agree with what @flinn gaidin said above. Your work is very good but it can be improved. Especially the audio part ⚠️🎵 Keep going!
Magnificent work! (And the fact u can do this :v and blizzard and EA can't ) just goes to show you and others can do it no need for some big company >:3
- Footman shouting FOR LORDARON. right near the ear of the soldiers just as a salute is out of place. - Reforged models and Wow models with completely different artstyles look uncanny. - Misused sounds like fully armored chainmail walking sound for Grunts is out of place. - Riflemen shooting down grunts never happened in the original Warcraft 3 mission. and its laughable how they keep shooting these massive fast moving grunts when their rilfes are in reality loaded from the barrel like old blackpowder guns. - Distinct lack of special effects, like splash on the chests of Grunts when they die to gunfire. even though that whole scene is weird. - Where is Arthases entire army when he first said to arms ? they magically arrived sooner when Arthas took a quick shower ? - The Captain with Arthas disappears after the fight is over ? missed chance for a spotlight for him since in the original game he's not given justice. Overall, the passion and work is there, but since a lot of people were busy writing short comments expressing their love for the incredible work (truly) i thought i'd be the sore thumb to point out the things in need of fixing. good luck.
I appreciate your feedback. I won't argue that it's perfect. There are definitely things that can be improved. Somethings are like they are because I'm working with a limited range of animations and sound effects that I was able to extract from the game files. While I'm learning some of the ins and outs of custom animating, I''m not an animator by any means, so that means I have to be creative with how I create scenes since i'm working with a select set of animations. That said, I agree on somethings like the continuity error of the captain showing up in some scenes but not others. Somethings I did with artistic license and to tell a story how I wanted to tell it because if you recreate the scenes exactly as they happened in game some scenes would be so short. It required a certain level of fluffing to fill out some scenes and to create transition scenes, which sometimes led to making decisions that you might consider to be changes. I get your point about the dwarf firing line. How that scene worked out the way it did was really because when I started setting up the scene I just had this idea in my head of the dwarf rifleman shooting shooting the orc who kills the fleeing villager. And I wanted the moment where the footman pull through and form a shieldwall. I kind of animated myself into a corner and the way it is now is because from those initial action moments that I wanted to tell I was kind of locked in and from there I had to figure out how to tell the rest of the battle scene. I totally agree with Arthas being late for the battle...i can see how it comes off as a like "what has arthas been doing this whole time, taking a shit in the woods or something?" All that to say I really appreciate the feedback. I hope it doesn't sound like I'm being defensive. I might be a little bit but that's just my natural reaction when someone criticizes my art. Constructive criticism is good. As much as I love all the comments of "it's amazing, it's awesome" it's good to get points on things to improve. And I appreciate you taking the time to write them. All i can say is be patient. I'm still learning new aspects of Unreal. Episode 3 and 4 are 95% done and you'll see a lot of improvements. Since you wrote such a good set of points on these two episodes, would you be interested in taking a look at episodes 3 and 4? On that note, i know in terms of that itch of the artist/creator its nice to slide in scenes like the Riflemen into this cinmatic, however it won't be a bad thing to do for this for next mission where the dwarves first meet Arthas. and the human forces are far more organized. it would probably be nice to then see some proper human vengeance with the firing lines gunning down orcs, though i would still transition a bit sooner to the scene where the footman come in with the shield wall because it seems unrealistic that those guns load fast enough, almost miss no shots and constantly gun the orcs down. The attack on strahnbrad was a mess for the humans to control and Arthas barely arrived at the critical time to save the day followed by his footman and if we're also connecting this to lore then most likely his loyal captain as well. the technical effort you put in this is rather amazing, i'm just saying there are better areas to use it.
