  • First day in the high mountains and everyone knew Pogacar was going to attack. The question was, who could answer? Considering Vingegaard was injuries leading up to the Tour, we all agree that being down only 50 seconds is a victory of sorts. Remco also proves that he’s a potential podium candidate.

It's clear from stage 4 that the biggest problem Jonas Vingegaard faces is Visma not having Sepp Kuss and Wout van Aert being far from 100 percent. Meanwhile, UAE has so much firepower they didn't even bring Brandon McNulty. And the whole team, Pogacar included, finally seems to be working together and all in to win. Visma needs to step up and support Jonas better or they will have trouble finishing on the podium. You heard it here first.

I am just so happy that the "Ultimate Leach" Vingegaard was exposed today and didn't know what to do when he had no one in front of him. He immediately started looking back to see who could help him. I know he is coming from injury, but still...he is an ultimate wheel sucker. Even when the Evenpole group went by him, he just sucked wheel all the way into the finish. F him. He is not true champion, in my opinion. Tadej is, who proved to the world, that he is better than Vingegaard One on one. Also, I am convinced, that Vingegaard is doing some sort of PED's which will be found a decade from now, since our amazing UCI, WADA and USADA are equally corrupt, you guys used that in the past, and stayed ahead of the world, didnt you?

Pogacar is the GREAEST since Merckx. He is what a bike racer is, wants to win every race. He belittles the racers that raced only the Tour. It was shameful to race one race a year. People talk about the 2024 Tour as if it is 2023 Tour. Cutting and pasting the same progress of events. Pogi (healthy) will crack, Jonas (not so healthy) will miraculously improve and get to the 2023 otherworldly level....and will also pull off a strange time trial performance all over again!

over the years, this pod has expanded, and increased in level of quality. Putting out this level of content isn't free...there are all kinds of costs that we don't see or aren't aware of (insurance, attorneys, power, set, personnel etc.) and none of it is free. And, we shouldn't expect the on-screen personalities to work for peanuts, nor the many who are off-screen that make this happen. So $$ has to come from somewhere. They could have a paywall, so that no one who doesn't pay doesn't get to watch. or they can offer tiered levels (which they do) but for non-subscribers, there will be ads, like I said, the $$ gotta come from somewhere. Perhaps one of the 23 dislikes here are youtuber content creators too, but I'm guessing not or at least not at this level.

My worry is that Pog needs to be smart and efficient to have a chance of winning in the end. He finally has the best team which might be the difference, but I fear Vin will start taking TT time and crack Pog again. Saying Vin is not 100% I think is wrong, Pog better this year, Vin nearly held him and Pog dropped him 3 times last year. Preying for a Pog victory but if I were a betting man, I think Vin may still come out on top. Hi from Denmark. Just wanted to let u all know, that Jonas said to Danish TV. Visma expected up to the Tour, that Jonas was -2 min down from Pogacar after stage 4. He also commented on he´s teams performace today, and told the press that, "hey, were all humans and can have a bad day, but of course it´s something we need to debate amongst each other". He has been very honest from stage 1, that he didn´t know for real, how this first week would go? After stage 4, he´s 50 sec behind Tadej, and frankly to be honest, i´m sure Visma is ok with that. But yeah, Jonas looked pretty beaten up, efter the finish line. But everybody did, even Pogacar. What a craxy speed up that mountain. Remember, the Tour is far from over, and we all know that, Jonas is best in the last week. Also the 2 TT, we gonna see some other gabs between the GC contenders. Damn`the World is lucky, to still have this battle going on, and i´m sure everybody here would love to see them race to the Finish. Cheers from Denmark & Viva le Tour

Got the coll de Rates KOM and was quickly picked up by Visma who saw huge potential in him. And to add to this even more, in 2017 he broke his femur in a near career ending crash in Norway, where he was off the bike for around 9 months halting his development. If anyone can provide me with one other example of this, that would be great. If Jonas is stronger than he is now in the third week, there is an inhuman explanation.

  • @shadowsun33

Jonas and Visma team are doppers! Cheaters! I always said it and today in the live stream they found a spectator from Denmark who bragged about how he knows Jonas very good from teenage years when they rode together for local teams but then unintentionally ousted Jonas saying that he was always below average rider who constantly got dropped and then started getting really good after he was 18.
Hahaha, I knew it. You can make a case against Tadej, but Tadej was always extraordinary. He had to compete in categories higher to have challenge.
I raced in Slovenia, Austria and Italy in the 90s and you'd never see a champ coming out of being average. I was never average and all those that were champion material, we'd never get dropped. The fact that Jonas suddenly rose to power and fame is just the Visma LAB thing. Lab specifically. It's very obvious, but lots of fresh cyclists are popping up following this sport and thus they're easily impressed and persuaded that Jonas is a special guy, that Wout is a special guy, that Roglic is a special guy, that Jorgenson is a special guy. That the entire Visma from 2022 and 2023 were amazing!
Sure, amazing at gobbling concoctions from their LAB. Ain't no way Wout who's from a completely different world, cyclocross can perform at such high speeds as road cyclist specialists and sprinters. No way Roglic comes into cycling way late from a completely unrelated sport discipline and under Jumbo becomes a champ of road racing. Talent? Sure, but much more science than talent is the game here.
And Jonas from cold ass Denmark performs amazing in heat and gets better in the 3rd week of grand Tours. A bunch of garbage masking the fact he's dopped up because his team director is greedy as shit!!!
And their dirty racing is disgusting. Last Tour they forced the peloton to wait for their injured riders who were not even GC while they had Wout in the breakaway who wasn't slowing down. When Jonas saw that Tadej was in pain from his wrist injury and was shaking his hand after they reached the top of a climb Wout and Jonas started accelerating into the descent and started dropping Tadej.
Total BS team and they finally got their karma this year. And now they're tryina spy and stalk their contenders w/ their stupid van. Ugh, never despised anybody as much as I do them and their weasel Jonas who pretends to be humble and is everything but that for those that have the eyes to see. I could back anybody to win over Tadej but not this guy. Something's off about him ever since he got onto the scene and that's why the general consensus in the peloton is that nobody cares about him. Most tolerate him and that's it. And stop trying to brainwash me how Danes are just such humble quiet people. Blah, blah, blah.
I said when Kuss won Vuelta that Visma will fall apart. You can't be so greedy to dope up everybody and then have too many top dogs racing for Jonas only. Kuss got a taste of fame and victory and that was enough. He don't want to waste his prime years to make others famous anymore. They made a huge mistake by letting him win. It was their downfall. And they should have never forced Primoz and Wout to be super domestiques. They trained them to be winners, so they're not happy to grind themselves to dust for others. It doesn't work that way.

Hehehe, I always knew it. He just always smelled fishy to me. He ain't a champion. He's just physiologically very responsive to the doping programme that the V LAB runs. I knew that in 2022 and 2023 with what Wout was doing and pretty much the entire team. They were winning left and right. That's not normal for a team of nobodies. Go trying to brainwash some other fool. I wasn't born yesterday. This Jonas is a cheat and it started coming out and it will come out sooner than later for everybody to know. On the flip side of the coin, wearing yellow can be a dead weight. Coz suddenly everyone attacks, you want to defend the honor… but your leg doesn't response. Suddenly, the yellow jersey becomes like a tons of brick. The camera will be on you, the commentator will discussing about you. Everyone's eye is focus on you. And here you are.. left wanting.. 🤣🤣and while cursing to yourself.. "giving me a wing.. my a$$.." 🤣🤣

I won't even try to image the welcome back of B.Girmay in Eritrea. Look at this video, guys (fast-forward mode is pretty enough to get the feeling), 2 Eritrean cyclist are back in their country after having finished their Tour de France in 2015. One of them was wearing a polka dot jersey for 4 days. Those crowds and limos and the president... Crazy! th-cam.com/video/8gS-RtKJvQI/w-d-xo.html

Vingegaard is carrying injuries that may have "healed" and he may have silenced the doubters.. but the Tour is race of attrition and I would think that biologically as the weeks drag on those injuries are going to complicate his recovery.
I worry that we are looking at his track record from 22/23 as an indicator for this year and we have the hardest climbs in the third week . Also team dynamics have clearly changed. In past years Vingegaard had a clearly superior team that was able to isolate Pogacar in the mountains with Visma riders surrounding him. The tables have turned in that regard. It was 4 or 5 UAE swarming around Jonas.

Thank you for reminding folks like me just how damn dangerous that descent was. Watching on tv, absorbed in the growing time gap, it just didn’t occur to me that there was no guard rail and that, especially up high, a guy who goes off that road is going to plummet a very, very long way. I ride, I’ve done scary, fast sketchy descents, but the sudden awareness of their mortal danger thanks to your commentary is something I’ll keep with me the rest of the race, and that’s the kind of former pro insight that’ll keep me coming back to this pod.

The way I see it is that Jonas is less confident on the descents might be due to his accident. Same story which happened last year with Tadej.
But Jonas will be getting stronger in the weeks to come while Tadej will be getting more tired. This should even out the battle.
I am sure Tadej will try to attack more and more on the downhill section instead of trying to drop Jonas on peaks. Mountain finishes will be really close.
Time Trials will be in favour of Jonas. This is where he will try to gain maximum of time.
But I am curious to see how Remco will keep up.

Paris last hosted the Olympics in 1924, and once before in 1900... geography has a lot to do with why they're in the Alps so soon.

Great opening comments by Lance. Only 50 seconds down and by week 3, Jonas should be at his peak and Tadej will be in his 6th grand tour week of the season . . . He might be a little tired carrying that yellow jersey.

If Cav doesn't get the record is there any consolation as a cycling fan that Eddie Merckx will still be at there at the top for most tdf stage wins and thus maintain his incredible legacy? And what are the chances of Pogi surpassing them? And what did you guys think of the Netflix show on Cavendish?

Jonas I think was spun out with not big enough gear going downhill and I think if Jonas was still on Tadej's wheel at the top he would not have lost all that time. Confidence will come on his descending. And Visma is truly missing Sepp.

Pogacar was making time on every turn on that final climb after he attacked. Jonas was able to keep it to a minimum when it wasn't as steep, but you could clearly see Pogacar was stronger......which doesn't involve any big gears.

You're clearly blind. Jonas lost confidence in descending. You must be fresh to cycling. Watch stage 2 and go study apex and what that even means. Then rewatch stage 2 and you'll see Jonas apex is super choppy compare to Tadej's apex. Tadej had to brake excessively while behind Jonas and almost hit him on occasion or two. Tadej rode that descent on stage 4 like a true master while Jonas was riding very scared put under pressure to prevent losing time. His apex was all over the place, so he had to worth much harder to maintain the speed.

You should get more informed. Pogacar said he didn't attack earlier because of the strong wind. If he did, his advantage would be now much bigger.
    .
Also, how will Vingo improve? And Pogi presumably get worse? Where is logic here?
