As Tadi Pogacar closes in on a TDF win he said. “Sometimes I don't know the reason why I attack - even me, I don't know anymore,” he said after the stage. “I guess I was just enjoying the climb, as it was steep and super nice, and I felt like attacking to test my legs into this third week and see if I could get a gap.”

the potential issue with the attack is that it may raise too many eyebrows over his freshness at the end of a TDF. a giro/tour double victory and to be attacking at the end of every stage? It’s not just a technological advancement in training and equipment. It goes without saying. People may suggest that he should have more humility in his performances by just not losing time and siting on Jonas wheel til the end.

@@danielmacdonald4005 Nah, the problem is he's from a tiny country and how dare he? That's the real problem here. When Jonas went full throttle with a good advantage already on the day Tadej completely cracked in 2023 Tour nobody questioned it. Jonas was a hero, even super human. It's a total hypocrisy. I'm from Slovenia. My whole life I had to listen to tone down, to think small, to follow, blah blah blah. Competitors from big countries are praised while we're always pulled back. The TDF caravan starts with a red race director car, followed by the riders in the peloton, followed by the directors in the vehicles and finally comes the circus on four wheels, dedicated to promo. On the WEDU channel, the caravan runs in reverse order :) I like this classic WEDO edition.
Pog wears Jonas down with attacks, even if he doesn't end up gaining significant time, it will leave Jonas driving over his limit for the third day in a row, making him all the more vulnerable today. Jonas can crack today, otherwise tomorrow, TT will be a disaster for him, if Tadej will continue attacking. Tadej learns a lot on this TDF, he improves different attracting strategies and most importantly, he learned how to ride defensively. He didn't follow Remco's attack, that was probably a mistake, he would gain much more time and Remco also, but he shows that he can control his attacking instinct at least for a while :). The only thing for him to pay attention to is to always, always have gel with him, to make a separation when attacking and go into defensive when Jonas catches him. The last thing to consider for him is what others are thinking. He is a fair play racer, any one knows that, riders who need to take care of politics in the peloton are not fair play riders at all, they are scammers. Fuck the politics, the show must go on!

The lack of power, we see from Jonas, has so much to do with the low muscle mass. Becouse of the crash, he was benched in almost 3 weeks, and lost a lot of muscle mass there. That´s what missing out, at them moment, and we all see that unfold in these days. But i do belive, he´s gonna keep that second podie place. Btw, Lance´s view on Pogacar´s attack, was perhaps the most wisely advice i ever heard. Tip top my hat there. Cheers from Denmark and have a nice Tour.

As a Dane, love is towards Jonas. But It is cool to see two people with almost the same output. Senna/Prost vibes. Tadej is super talent on form, Jonas draws his power from love. So Tadej starting to listen to the pro and doing what they said. He is a knucklehead and needs to be told twice. Tagej has youth, instinct and pure power. Jonas is lagging the pure gt and turning off the love. Somebody needs to tell Jonas what he is doing and how wild it is. Military camp for Jonas and he would be closer to Tadej. Imagine Jonas with a Cavendish attitude, he would be a different weapon. Military coach for Jonas would do wonders but it has a price.

Lance makes a great point about the political factors that Tadej needs to watch out for. And he knows it. Notice him put out his hand to Jonas immediately after losing an all-out sprint to him. He knew that was on TV. He's been chummy with both Jonas and Remco with the cameras rolling throughout the Tour. UAE's behind-the-scenes videos are slick and clever PR that make them look like the gang on Cheers or Friends. His trouble is his need to win every race every time.

You gotta love how few comments there are about Magnus White. People care more about what pros eat than when a fellow cyclist dies. Pathetic. I cannot imagine what this family has gone through. Very few can. You can see and hear the pain in the father's voice. That's real pain.
I was hit by a distracted driver a few years ago and put into a coma for a few days. Half of the bones in my body were fractured, I spent 2 months in a wheelchair and had to learn how to speak again. I should have died that day; instead I ride 200 miles every weekend. To say I was lucky is an understatement. So I do feel empathy for the White family. But sadly, I don't think much can change the risk of road cycling. It is predominantly human error, and 2 tons of metal against a few hundred pounds of carbon fiber and human flesh. Unless it is an absurd road design, but those are the outliers. The risk is inherent in the sport. If anything, I think changing the people's mentality would be more effective. Drivers hate cyclists. With hate comes lack of care.
Michael White, I keep Magnus in my thoughts and will for a very long time. You can take a look at one photo and tell he was an amazing young man. I grieve with you and your family. I will for years to come.

Yes, better than last year. Tadej's numbers this year are fantastic... Johan Bryuneel also talked about them. So can someone tell me wtf Armstrong, Hincapie and Wiggens (he doesn't deserve to be called "Sir") what were they talking about? They keep hitting and pouding down on Pogi. WHY? Why all that hatred against him? Real cycling fans are not stupid and they know that two old school american doped cyclists are just BS. I ride granfondos in Europe and I have to admit it's just very very nice to smash it on a climb when you feel strong, whether it's on training or in a race.
