I mean, you gotta give it to Simon... dude slayed the king of darkness, got cursed for it, then said "see if I don't, you b*tch ass vampire" and gathered up the evil relics to personally revive him *_again_* and slay his ass *_again_* to get rid of both the curse and the b*tch ass vampire. Dracula probably tried to curse him a second time and Simon just stared him down into compliance.

@jeanshortswag On spritework, I have to agree. His Chronicles sprite would have worked so much better, but I'll settle for him being an 8-bit Boi with Getsu Fuma. That said, Simon's Theme from HoD was my top version for a long ass time, only being even close to matched by this one.

@mrmusickhimself I often miss HoD myself. I mained Julius for similar reasons. While Julius himself isn't the source of it ( though he is one of my favorite Belmonts,) it was his playstyle. SCV4 was one of the first games I EVER played, so a character bringing back the 8 way whip and swinging mechanics was an instant dream come true.
I'm 36 soon to be 37. I own every CastleVania. I have most of the soundtracks on CD. I've poured so many hours into finding remixes on Vgmusic and OCRemix. I've been to all the CastleVania fan sites. I've made wallpapers. In '93 I'm 5, I moved away from my grandparents to Wisconsin utterly sad. I'm over my Uncle Kevin's house playing Super CastleVania IV for the first time. Simon Belmont's theme is forever etched into my memory for all time. I'm at work in tears listening to all of these right now. Thank you for making me 5 again for a brief moment.

As the first Belmont (not in the canon, but as the protagonist of the very first game), Simon deserves a kickass theme. This might have surpassed even Castlevania IV's rendition.

Treasury Room is such an underrated Castlevania track. May not be as iconic as Vampire Killer, Bloody Tears or Beginning but Gawd DAMN!!! It's one hell of a bop!
To come to think of it, Simon's theme could use an official name. For now he'll just have to settle for an unofficial one. I'll call it "Slayer's Legacy" as an homage to him following in his predecessor's footsteps, as his own descendants will as well.
The first time I played as Simon was also the first time I defeated the Red Reaper. It was very fitting and this version of his theme made it that much better.
My headcanon is that Simon isn't the strongest, the smartest, or the most tied to Dracula, he was just the guy who hated him the absolute most. Like, Moon Knight levels of just wanted to break his stupid face.
Ohysically, he IS the strongest, actually. But more than that, Simon was the most stubborn of all the Belmonts. No other Belmont came CLOSE to the ironclad resolve of Simon Belmont. Even Dracula holds him in high regard, for he knows Simon is the only Belmont that simply would not stop.

Huh, well I'll be damned. Had to fact check this myself as I've never been told about this misconception. Personally, what solidified this as more than just Simon's Theme was its placement in Bloodlines for the SEGA Genesis as its one of the final tracks in the game before John Morris confronts Dracula and is forced to make the ultimate sacrifice in order to uphold the Legacy of the Belmont Clan. I always get the mental image of each and every Belmont watching over John Morris as he climbs that final staircase, calling from the heavens to grant him strength
I really hope we get an "X Your Heart" version! That song goes so hard for being attached to one of the weakest games i the series. The SSBU version goes insanely hard too.
