Part 1: 1964 Dodge Polara 8 3/4 Rear End Rebuild

This video (Part 1) covers removing the 8 3/4 rear end out of this 1964 Dodge Polara and the disassembly and inspection of some of the components. This is a 742 carrier with 3.23 gears and a Dana Power-Lok clutch-style sure grip. Because of the tapered axles used in 1964 and earlier 8 3/4's, there is a special puller used to remove the drums.

I’m doing the same thing on my 1964 440 and both the wheel bearings are bad and I’m hoping my gear set is ok.
