  • This week I talk about the different ankle medical kits I tried in my exploration.
I really like ankle carry for when I want as complete a medical kit as possible without overloading my pockets, and still maintaining a discreet profile.
All of these are great options, and worth looking at.

Brother just go with the Dark Angel Medical. It’s been on my ankle for 6 years and never failed me. Best AMK I’ve worn.

Excellent discussion. After attending a gunshot wound care class offered by Texas lawshield, I realized how important it is to have a medkit as part of my EDC. The ankle for a gun hasn't been practical for my life style but will work great for a medkit. Thanks for the recommendation.

I use a Wilderness Tactical ankle cuff. It holds 2x SOF-T Wide TQs, 2x Hyfin chest seals, medical shears, a triangle bandage, and a rescue whistle.

If you're going to dress up in business casual or business attire, then carrying a briefcase or laptop bag is fine, and that greatly aids in your ability to carry ancillary gear. Gun(s) on your person, most of the rest of the "stuff" goes in the bag. Mine is even fortified with a ballistic panel which will stop all common handgun rounds, making it a handy shield.
If you are dressed more casually, then a small sling bag serves to carry the "stuff" very nicely. Call it a man-purse if you want to, lol.
I'd rather those options than stuff on my ankle. JMHO.
    Enjoy the cooler weather!

Yep I agree. Just bought a "man purse". Will carry everything except a firearm in it

Been running a Wilderness tactical 5" for over a year now. Been very happy with it, not a good option for too light of fabric's. But super comfortable.
    Cat 7
    NAR S-fold Gauze
    Needle
2 sets of compact chest seals
    2 set gloves
    X-Shears
    5" clamps
    3' flat of duck tape
It sounds like a lot,but it's loose fitting under my usual strait cut work pants, for slacks I usually just carry a Philster pocket med. Less bulk in a slimmer cut suit.

      Wilderness Tactical FTW!

Yes. The WPS kit is very beefy. I had to get larger jeans to use it, no boot cut, but some strait cut will work. It's comfortable though. :)
Edit- its the full wps kit cat, gauze, nose airway, trauma dressing, gloves, scissors, and the kitchen sink, just to be sure. :)

Exactly what I was going to say! It has space for so many things but it is hard to wear in anything other than jeans.

I carry the WPS ankle kit every day. It is a little bulky. I can make it work fine with my work clothes, but it always gets moved to my bag when in slacks or a suit.

Of the kits you like…which concealed best under normal pants?
Seems the dark angel cuff is the slimmest. Did that make it more practical for guys who wear typical fitted clothing. I don’t do cargo pants or bell bottoms.

The FrogPro is my curve favorite, followed by the PHLster.
I prefer taller bands, since they require less pressure/ tension to stay in place.
I wear straight or slim fit pants exclusively.

@@TheSuitedShootist that makes a lot of sense. Thank you for the insight!
On a journey to find the slimmest most comfortable ankle cuff. Getting close to pulling the trigger on the FrogPro. Looks amazing. Definitely unique in its design.
Enjoying your videos. Happy that I stumbled upon you and your channel today.

I use the Phlster ankle kit, but admittedly I cut two of the straps because my stuff was just too big for it. Generally I like the lower profile kits for EDC. Other ankle kits hold more but are way too bulky for me.

How concealable are these, really? In an office environment where I'm sitting, it's hard to imagine my pants leg not riding up and exposing the gear, even if it's a little ways up the calf. Am I missing something? Thanks for the review, very thoughtful as always!

Hi, I’ve been watching your videos The problem that I have I also wear tailored suits. I do not wear a belt I wear suspenders. I just feel that Wall Street suspenders looking is more dressier. Shoulder holsters pocket pistols, they felt they seen. How do you feel about Nicolas Cage face off in the back concealment . Every video people want you to dress like you’re going to the gym. Sorry that’s not me I go to dinner parties. Please give me your thoughts.

The PHLster Enigma is a way better option.
      That "Face Off" configuration is
      1) Dangerous. You don't want a chunk of metal sitting right over top of your spine.
      2) Harder to conceal. Even if your traps/delts are prominent, they make your back *wider*, but there's not the same void that there is on the front of the body.
      3) Harder to retain. This is very susceptible to a gun grab.
      4) Slow to draw and virtually impossible not to flag yourself or someone else putting the gun back in the holster.
Check out this playlist for some ideas:
