You inspired me. I recently took inventory of all the foods I had and decided to create meals out of it, only needing to pick up a handful of things lowering my grocery bill this month. I've managed about 8 days worth of dinners for my family of 4😊
Yes high protein/healing is a thing. I was recently hospitalized due to an infections that caused open wounds and I had to eat large portions of protein. Double portions of meat, cheese, milk, and yogurt along with a gross protein drink that they added to juice.
I recently read that if you put a wet paper towel on the chopping board when you cut onions, it won't make you cry. Just put the towel on the edge of the board. I heard this from several people. Haven't tried it yet.
Peanut butter balls 3/4 cup peanut butter 1/2 cup honey 1tsp vanilla 3/4 cup oats 3/4 cup powdered milk powder Chocolate chips For anyone else that wanted to make them immediately and found no link in the dooblydoo 😋
@@leighdegenhardt485 I used two scoops protein powder and the rest milk powder and it turned out good. I think all protein powder would be overwhelming flavor wise.
Banana Bread - I always add some cinnamon too, and blueberries! Also I spray the inside of the pan with cooking spray and put some sugar in there, shake it around and then pour in the bread mix. Adds a little sweet crispy crust!
I couldn't EVER but ground turkey. I've tried it,and the texture, flavor and everything else just make me rather be hungry. So I stopped trying to eat it to be "healthier" and just use ground beef. I do not regret my choices. I get chicken, ground beef, pork chops,ham,bacon...etc, as well as WHOLE turkey 🦃, instead of ground. Cuz I DO love regular thanksgiving style turkey 🦃. Lol
OMG that’s the same banana bread recipe I use. I got it from a James Beard cookbook “Beard on Bread” from 1973 I found at a garage sale. It’s wonderful. My family loves it. I add molasses & walnuts occasionally. Using baking soda instead of powder is the key. Makes great French toast the next day. Good stuff.
For your turkey, make meatballs! I toss carrots, celery, and onion in the food processor until it gets basically to mush and mix it together. The veg has PLENTY of moisture. They come out great!
Can I just say I lust after your white countertops? We inherited black granite with this house and I have always hated it. It makes the kitchen much darker than it should be. We have the same oak cabinets you have and though I would prefer an all-white kitchen, I can see from your kitchen how well changing just the counters and backsplash makes a HUGE difference!
Thank you so much I got a meal planner and it helps me so much now to use what’s in my house and save money and get not waste groceries thank you again
Christine, you and your sweet husband are wonderful parents! Look how amazing your beautiful children are and becoming!! You videos are inspiring and give us hope for now and our futures. 💫
I know a lot of people don’t care for ground turkey- personally I gave up eating beef about 20 years ago and have only used ground chicken or ground turkey. You do need to add extra seasoning and moisture but we don’t miss ground beef at all. Thanks for the great video.
I put the ground turkey in my food processor with some seasoning and a little bit of almond flour. I make patties and nuggets with it and it's so moist. It's just like a chicken patty. My toddler loves it and he's not big into the texture of meat. This one was a winner!
I feel the same way about ground turkey. It has to be very well seasoned and usually topped with a bunch of stuff to taste good. But I always buy it when it's on clearance at Kroger!
The smell and texture of it and ground chicken are off putting to me. I use it along with ground beef or ground pork and that helps. I love putting it in my meatloaf.
I much prefer ground chicken over turkey. I make chicken burgers by adding an egg, a packet of Knorr vegetable dip mix, about 1/4 cup of water, and a handful of oatmeal (or bread crumbs) to a pound of ground chicken. Form into patties and bake at 350 for 20 minutes or until done.
Our kitchen remodel is almost finished, and your channel is one that kept me company as we saved up for that. So thank you! I am determined to be very intentional as we move food back into the cupboards and create a use it up box for questionable items - this video is just the inspiration I need. Thanks for all you do!
I love your videos. Can I relate? No. Do I have kids? No. A pantry? No. A slowcooker? No. The same stores? Hahaahaha No. I'm just a 32 year old in germany loving the way you are and hoping for some cooking hacks!
I have a hard time with eating ground turkey only, so I mix a pound of turkey with a pound of ground beef and when available, I add a pound of ground venison. Cook it all together. Put them in quart size freezer bags and freeze, to have ready for tacos, spaghetti or any rice and/or beans dish.
I seldom have luck with no bake cookies. Either they spread like a crepe, or are stiff like a dryer ball. Lately instead of scooping as a cookie, I’ll dump the dough in an 8x8 and make a bar. If it’s too lose to cut, we just scoop it with a spoon. We are not fancy here!
I've found that usually texture has something to do with the length of time you boil the sugar/butter/milk/cocoa mixture. The longer you boil, the harder the finished cookie is. My family recipe says 2 minutes at a rolling boil. Sounds good either way though!
I always buy ground turkey just to have on hand. When cooking I season and add a little bit if oil in my pan. Adds a lot more flavor and gives it some moisture!
My mom used to make cookies called Moose Droppings for my school bake sales which are similar to your no-bake cookies but it uses coconut and oatmeal and has no peanut butter.
When I first met my husband he was renovating his house. He had no fridge and the oven was still in the box in the living room with a microwave sitting on top. So for a whole winter we had a cooler on the back deck and would stick the beer and milk directly into the snow bank. It worked great.
Thank you for these videos. I have a problem with making meals and stretching out our grocery money. Family of four and we given ourselves 150/wk. this is for cleaning stuff and pet supplies as well. Anyway, thought I’d try menu planning this year to see how far I can make those dollars go. Will start by cleaning out freezer. I think I’ll post on my channel how it goes.
I loved everything about this video. I am home sick with covid and have been re-watching your videos. I mean what else does someone do when they don't have the energy to do anything?
I love the end! You had me laughing! You and Hailey and simular to how my kids and I are. Lol I love it "Your weird sometimes!" Yeah but it's funny! Thank you guys I appreciate it
I have the same banana bread recipe. Mine has baking soda and powder tho, and came from my grandma. For the nobake, I never add pb. Makes it so my nephew can eat them, and I totally cheat by spreading them in a pan and cut them like bars later. As a new subscriber I have to say I love your energy and videos.
You remind me of me in so many ways. And I’m always having fun with my kids too. I love that they are older now (loved the baby stage the best but…) and we can understand each other and have inside jokes. Etc. I love it! It’s so great to build this bond with them in their teenage years - it will last a lifetime!!! ❤️
I find I forget how much I love your videos for like 2 weeks and then I decide to watch one and end up binging all of them from the last one I watched to the newest one.
I would like to thank you for always making me smile and giving me such great tips. Seriously, who needs TV when you have a so many hours of FFM to watch. LOVE ❤ your channel. Thanks Christine, you are incredible and such an inspiration. Keep up the great work. BTW, I would love some of that snow you have, can you please send it to Northern Cali? 😁
Challenged myself to cook only out of my kitchen fridge/freezer before I re-supply or touch my other fridge and my big freezer. Got to clean out. 🙂 Each day will be a surprise of meals. Got to get creative.
For the ground turkey, if you like Indian flavors, Awesome Kitchen has a great Indian-inspired Shepard's Pie. When I'm making it for my family, I usually cook up a double batch of the meat and freeze half, then just bake with the mashed potatoes on eating time for the second one.
Peanut butter, chocolate, banana smoothies are my go to for using up bananas. 1 frozen banana, 2 tbs creamy peanut butter, 2-3 tsp dark chocolate cocoa powder, 1/2 to 1 cup of milk of your choice mixed up in a blender. My Mimi (born and raised in Houston, TX!) taught me how to make those no-bake cookies when I was a kid... they're my favorite! Delicious! 😋
I’m also not a big fan of ground turkey but when I find it on sale I usually use it to make egg roll in a bowl or mix it with spaghetti sauce and have it with pasta.
I make a banana bread from my 1948 Better Homes and Gardens cookbook that is very delicious and healthy. It has wheat bran in it and I changed the white sugar to dark brown sugar. I also use 2 to 3 more bananas than the recipe calls for. I usually make large muffins from the batter, topping half of them with walnuts before baking.... I love toasted walnuts, my son doesn't. tfs 🥰💐🌷🌞🌛☔🏜💗✝
So my husband has never bought that many bananas but when he working from home during the pandemic he caught a couple of your videos. One day he wondered into a discount bread store and bought SO MUCH BREAD I had to buy a chest freezer immediately to store it all in 😂
You have inspired me to try a salad kit that was reduced at my local IGA first one I ever tried and I like it. $1.25 and will give me 2-3 portions. Can't be that price for a nutritious side dish
Omg nooo we love ground turkey! The key is to a) eat it fresh b) make your own hot Italian or sweet Italian sausage crumble with it! My family doesn't eat pork so I make my own sausage crumble using online spice blend recipes! C) fry it in butter NOT olive oil - or a mix of both but I prefer when the butter starts to caramelize aka burn a bit because it helps bring out its smoky fatty flavour like pork sausage!
Total Nipolian Dynamite reference in the beginning! 😂 “ I need my chapstick. My lips are really chapped!” You are in a spunky mood on this video! My kind of person. Ha!
Ok we all had fun today!!! 😂 Great video! I like to mix half ground beef half turkey. Can’t really tell it’s turkey. Love my Bosch mixer and skinny loaf pans I got thanks to you.
Hi I was seriously not kidding when I said could you teach me how to grocery shop on a budget. I do not have outlet stores around me so I really could use some help on saving money right now especially during the pandemic.
@FrugalFitMom I never used to care for ground turkey or pork, however... I downloaded some Home Chef recipes and now I realllly like the meals I make with them both! Ground pork favs - eggroll bowl, mini meatloaves and ground turkey - meatball dishes, Asian inspired dishes and some tex mex. Oh - got your thank you note. SO nice of you to send. ❤
You've prob seen this tip, but if you spray your measuring cups with a bit of PAM spray before doing honey, it'll literally slide right out and you don't have a sticky mess!
I wouldn't use ground turkey for meat loaf (ground beef only), but I do like to use it in other recipes. I add garlic powder, onion powder, salt & pepper, which helps a lot 😊🌻

I would like to thank Dave for the neverending frozen bananas. They are the comedic gift that just keeps giving.
So true!
Christine, you are not lazy. You're efficient. When you know you know.
For real! I hate when she calls herself that, because if that’s so, then I’d hate to hear what I’m considered 😂😂
‘Ohhhh those are old’ …… ‘Meh, it’ll be okay!’
Literally me every night I make dinner 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The editing on this is phenomenal. And the scenes with her screaming at the blenders are hilarious 😂

Ah I see, yes you are most likely right about that. Thanks!
I use a potato ricer on bananas for banana bread. Makes them in nice even tiny pieces
Banana Bread - I always add some cinnamon too, and blueberries! Also I spray the inside of the pan with cooking spray and put some sugar in there, shake it around and then pour in the bread mix. Adds a little sweet crispy crust!
Please give Haley her own show! I'm a waiting subscriber! 😆 She's great!
Someone was feeling feisty on this filming day! LOVE it!!
My son (4 years old) and I love watching you. He decided we needed to make no bakes. Pulled all the ingredients out you had. They turned out well.
Your son trying to cut onions while wearing swim goggles was the highlight of my day :-)
I love ground turkey in soups and stews, in place of ground beef.
I might try the peanut butter balls with wow butter for my 6 year Olds sweet snack for school
Turkey mince tastes great with grated zucchini and peeled carrot in oyster sauce served on rice noodles.
Solid entertainment right here, folks! 😁
I always add a can of Mexican tomatoes and chilli beans to nachos, taco mix etc
