Amazing, this is exactly what I was looking for. I immediately thought of checking your channel for a recommendation and you delivered in less than 30 seconds. I'm speaker shopping to load a cab with 4 different speakers to really find a nice blend. The right amount of speaker breakup is the most nuanced and taking me the most time to decide on. This should help immensely.
Cool! Got my tracks recorded. Time to pick an IR! Let’s see... I think I like this one, and this one, and this one, and this one, and this one, and this one, and this one, and THIS ONE....
This is sick, very smart, bout time someone did this within a single plugin, solves a very real need, and im not sold on too many niche plugins, purchased.
One thing I see missing from each cab slot.....Pan. You would think, using multiple cabs, that you could pan some left and right. Yes, you can route the output either stereo or mono, but, what if you wanted a couple of cabs on the left, and a couple on the right. Seems like a basic function that is missing.
"Worlds First" is a bit of a stretch, unless it's all in the wording and they are referring to the 'Visual Mixing' aspect, ie the little graphic in the middle. RedWirez mixIR2 has been around for years and has most everything else plus more, you can use up to 30 IR's, albeit in 6 blocks of 5, each block being able to be panned where ever etc, each IR within a block can be mixed individually. It also has the ability to export your own IR's from the mix of IR's you have used. So the only thing I see here that hasn't been done before might be the 'Visual Mixing ' aspect, everything else is in something else be it mixIR2, Recabinet, WOS or one of the many other products. 2Notes WOS allows you to use up to 100 different IR's at a time individual panning and other features, but I haven't spent a lot of time with that. Definitely be checking out LIBRA though
It's kind of a simple idea (mixing percentages) but done in the best way possible. Great stuff well worth the money since these guys have been giving amazing plugins for free so far.
This video just helped me realize how un tech savvy I am, and how much mixing and recording is a pain in the ass. No thanks I just love to play. Thanks Ola
Bloody hell... been playing with pulse and the mighty emissary for a few months now.. even with top tier ir packs getting my tone has become a chore.. but with this i can just load all the good ones in and pretty much "walk around cab room" till i find that sweet spot between mesa, marshall and vox.. or somethin.. who knows.. this plugin has my brain buzzing with sonic posibilities for djent

Would be cool to have a "rotate" button feature, where you click it and the A,B,C,etc. cabs rotate by 1 around the graphical loop. Then you could offset your mix dot and quickly rotate though (eyes closed) and listen.
Hi Ola, greetings from England. Love your videos and have watched for a long time, but never listened to your music before. I just watched the video for the mare, and holy shit it's amazing! (My favourite part was when the orange glow captured the solar logo so beautifully. And the music. ) P.s I promise not to skip the ads in future in appreciation of how metal you are
SuomiPerkele I mean if that’s how you feel then sure but if it means I can stop my endless search for new and new implulses then maybe it’s worth it haha
Jimmy Boab you can load in your own and mix them, though I’m not sure if it’s as in depth when using your own personal impulses. However there’s other things MIKKO does do that Libra doesn’t, either way if we are being honest you can’t go wrong with either product.
@@btf636 Sorry to dig up this thread now but, are you sure you can load your own IRs into Mikko ? Mikko and Libra are about the same price right now and I'm can't make up my mind on which one to get...
Awesome plugin! Alot possibilities with this, you can make a new impulse based in 1 to 8 impulses working together! Interesting. Now we can have a window open to create so many different tones.
There's so many great signal-chain plugins that are aimed/marketed toward guitarists; I can't help wondering if this plugin would also really shine in a generic creative convolution reverb context.
Yeah I agree. I was bit disappointed that this wasn't free (selfish I know, what can you do?) and I was told by someone because it was so revolutionary and groundbreaking it could not be given away for free and worth every cent of the 70 USD. But then I thought hang on, leCab came out over 10 years ago was free and did essentially the same thing (albeit with 2 less cabs) only difference is this has a GUI for blending rather than individually adjusting volume. I still am tempted though, as the workflow might be handy.
So I'm totally new to using IRs like this, I was swayed into buying this on a small discount to give it a try and it doesn't even show up in my DAW fx categories, no new developers or anything. I've re-scanned multiple times. Does this open via something else in a DAW?
Can you PLEASE make a video about MGuitarArchitect from Melda Production... i honesly think they are the BEST option in Ir creation for 2023 ( Take the Ir wave and TRANSLATE for phase correction... up yo : 16 Ir at the same time AMAZING stuff and almost no one talk about that...). THANKS !!! Like a lot youre video by the way !!
Actually in the newer modellers, you can do that with a little bit of high-cut. The big difference that you hear comes from the fact that you don't have a giant 4x12 cab when you usually use a modeller
I need to move forward in recording , I'm still using my Roland VS880 for recording , bought it brand new in the 90s , still works perfectly , thing is I do not know where to start when it comes to Computer Studio's and plugins , some advice would by handy (anyone)....I do know how to record ...mic an amp...mix down....bounce tracks...etc.....
Hey, I suggest trying out Reaper, it's an awesome DAW that has all the plugins you need to get you started..It's extremely light on system resources and it has a 60 day unlimited trial and it's only $60.
I joined your discord a while back and it still says I’m a non member. Help! Idk what I’m doing wrong and I can’t message the mod. Also, I linked my TH-cam account
I have a problem dialing in amps with my eyes. Maybe an VST amp plug in that is dialed in the same way??? You can have that one STL just shoot me free download when it’s released!
Ola what is exactly your true thoughts about that knowing it still some simulations in this stuff. Is ignite able to record many impulse responses from real gear to mix it likely and keep a non numeric sounding, just a true mixing sound at the end. And why not using all records and mix them directly to generate a real mixe and not an impulse response? it's obvious it takes more time but maybe more realistic. if it's just a matter of time i 'd rather go for mixing up everything my self :)
What does everyone think of this? Worth buying? Has anyone mixed ir’s and used them with kemper profiles? Cheers guys. Also can you load in .kipr format IR’s?
sounds badass I might give it a try. Can I export the new mix into a new IR file? Edit never mind asked my question too soon. Thanks for the heads up Ola.
I'm new to all this stuff, even though I've been playing for 30yrs. Why do we need SO many things to get a good sound? I mean you already have your impulse responses (no Idea what those even are lol but I guess some sort of sampling of how a speaker/amp sounds?) then you're using an cab/amp sim too? Why isn't it just easier and better to mic up your amp and record it ? DAWs allow you to do so much after the fact anyway? I'm not saying this isn't how you should be doing it, I'm just asking for some advice on why all the complications
Ola do you have any experience with the Mesa Black Shadow speakers?? I have a chance to buy a 90s 2x12 with Jensen Alnico and Black Shadow loaded cab for under what the Jensen costs itself!! Do they sound good for metal and Djent?
Ola, which DAW do you use? I want to get one to run on my MAC or PC so that I can record, use plugins, etc. but researching you get a ton of feedback on them all. Any help or insight is appreciated! Edit - @1:05 sounds like you use logic. Any advice for someone trying to get into digital recording on the cheap?
Before mixing IMO. I suggest you to find organic sound right from recording - mix process should only emphasis what you have. I would suggest to treat it as studio recordings - you choose your sound and record it and then maybe little changes for mix but not mixing with that plugin as a part of process because you will never finish your mix. Of course it's only my opinion, you can do with it whatever you want :)
Hi Ola! I am in the market for a new amp. I am looking at the Randall RG1503 2x12 or the Orange CR120. Any other sleepers in that category that I may be missing? I have a half stack now, but the output is failing (again). I have no need for so much power, I just like it stupidly loud.
Don't buy SS combo amps loaded with cheap, poor sounding speakers. Out of those two I would choose RG1503 head + 2x12 gt1275 cab. Modded JetCity amps are cool in that price range too.
when people ask me a question i wasnt expecting, i make an impulse response
