- Fighting in Ethiopia’s civil war has claimed tens of thousands of lives, while millions more face hunger and starvation. For almost two years, the Tigray region has been largely isolated and under a state of siege. Millions of Tigrayans are in need of food and lack of supplies have pushed health systems to the brink of collapse. “There is nowhere on earth”, says WHO chief Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, “where the health of millions of people is more under threat than in Tigray”.
Ethiopian authorities have repeatedly denied blocking humanitarian aid to the region, instead blaming the Tigray People’s Liberation Front. As this investigation discovers, the human impact of the siege has been devastating.

This is heart-wrenching. Innocent children especially shouldn't have to suffer the consequences of something they have no control over. I can only imagine how hard it is for the parents as well and other people trying to survive. But imagine being a doctor or other medical professional and not being able to help anyone because you don't have the tools to do so. The silence on this is deafening. Are we really so callous?

My family was born in Ethiopia except me but I always get so sad about this misery. Our families, people, we're all one big family in the Tigrayan Community. They still use aid and stolen fuel to attack Ethiopia when their own people starve and dir. Ethiopian defense forces are merely trying to free Tigray off of these monsters but guess what? The conflict in Tigray is deadly, bloody and all this is compounded by a massive drought affecting the horn of Africa region ,ie Somalia ,Ethiopia and to a lesser extent Kenya. This humanitarian crisis has largely gone unnoticed due to the focus being on the war in Ukraine, Iranian protests .I can tell you without fear that if something isn't done soon we are looking at one of the worst humanitarian disasters in this century, this is worse than even Yemen.
The AU and the International community needs to do something ASAP.....
The drought is affecting the entire Northern Kenya, that aint lesser extent bro. Even last week there was a death due to hunger in a village in samburu-marsabit border

I am Tigrayian but I am away in the USA, my heartaches seeing this. Also knowing my own uncle died in the same ways. Hurts me on a different level. My own blood, suffered like this.

If you read the ICHREE report from a month ago, the side blocking aid and medicine from getting to Tigray is the Ethiopian government. They declared this to be a crime against humanity. Every Eritrean is proud of their heritage because of the wars the country has fought, including my parents, and my dead uncles and aunts. Due to Italy's long colonization of Eritrea in the past, and ever since it gained independence from Ethiopia, it's been a very defending and strict country ,not wanting any foreign or western intriguers in. The strict government had to go through any means possible to stop rivals from claiming the Red sea or steal our demanded recourses, which led to all sorts of problems with the people. Recently my uncle has died trying to defend Eritrea from the Tigray armies .But now, by the will of God, it's ended, and Eritrea has become 10x better, flourishing in every aspect, many Eritreans who have fled are planning tickets back. It's degrading to see fake news outlets lie about Eritrea being "Africa's north Korea" when it's certainly not. I'm glad to hear you've encountered some nice Eritreans in the USA! have a great day! :)

Scripture says this too: “Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”-but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. This is a politically motivated documentary yet the situation on the ground is so heart touching nonetheless. I don’t think any healthy Ethiopian is happy to watch such a devastating condition in Tigray. Be the mercy of God upon us all.

As for the aid, why would Afar and Amhara allow aid to be transported through them when they are in dire situations and in need of aid for themselves because of TPLF's aggression and the same region the aid is going to is attacking them using the aid itself???? They are still allowing huge number of trucks anyway. Even Shire is getting trucks transported to them as we speak. So yea. Think about that for a second.
