Maybe a (decent) hernia truss would slow things down for the new one on the left side, but I think you have less invasive surgery options if you get it seen to earlier? Just going by what I've seen on YT as I have a similar situation but haven't had surgery yet. Best of luck, buddy, I'll be watching your progress with fingers crossed...
After I had surgery I was going to bin my hernia truss, but I put it in a drawer. Unfortunately I may need to open that drawer once more, I'll keep you updated brother. All the best
I feel for you mate, I'm just passed the six week mark of recovery myself for an inguinal hernia repair and the thought of going through the whole process again is a truly rotten one. Hoping for the best for you, I found your videos a proper comfort when I was going through the whole thing myself!
Cheers mate, wishing you a continued recovery. Hopefully I'm wrong or it doesn't ever get worse, but this is life eh..we do what we do until we do different. All the best.
Cheers brother 👍🏻. Yeah this seems to be how life goes as we get older eh haha, ahh well I'm sure there will be valuable lessons I'll learn regardless of the outcomes. All the best my friend.
@@Expresshonestly if it's any consolation, the time I got the hernia,I also banjaxed my back. Herniated disc and sciatica. Waiting to see a neuro surgeon. That's me finished in the trade
Hey. I had an open inguinal repair with no mesh 2 years ago. Failed. Thought I was in the clear after a good nights sleep. Around noon the next day I began having horrible electrical zaps shooting into my left testicle from an unsettled nerve. Went away after 2 hours. Worst experience of my life. Brutal. I’m laying here in bed tonight after having mesh put in this morning laparoscopically. Tomorrow is gonna be a real mindfuck because all I will be thinking about is if the zaps will return when the local anesthesia wears off or if 2 years ago was the surgeon making a mistake. Hang in there. I quite literally feel your pain.
Hi, that sounds like hell, I've experienced nerve pain in my arm once & there's no pain like it, crazy sensation so to have it in a testicle is literally torture. In my mind that happening again is rare, especially with a very different way of performing the surgery. One if the benefits of Laparoscopic is that it reduces chance of nerve issues. Wishing you well Kelly. 1 step at a time. 1 punch at a time. 1 round at a time.
Thanks for the encouragement. I never considered that. Makes me hopeful. The worst part was that it would come every 40 to 100 seconds. I would verbally yelp when it happened. Physical and psychological torture. Never in a million years I thought that could or would happen. I was just as anxious as you on my first one. This one was easier. The experience counts. Keep me in the loop regarding your need for another one. Laparoscopic may be the way to go.
@KellyBigley-us8wv definitely a nightmare, that intermittent shooting pain is classic nerve pain, agony jolts from hell. Absolutely mate, let's Keep each other updated on our progress through this journey.
Not good. Same thing happened with me, saw the consultant before surgery for an inguinal and he found an umbilical hernia. He could only do one at a time, so the wait continues. Not a lot we can do unless we can part with hard earned cash. Not that it’s any help to you but it’s good to know I’m not the only one.
BEST TO GET THEM FIXED THEN LIVE WITH THEM RIGHT ? IM GETTING READY FOR MY SURGERY COMING UP ON THE RIGHT SIDE AND I HOPE IT NEVER SHOWS UP ON THE LEFT BUT IF IT DOES ITS BEST TO TAKE CATE OF IT RIGHT ? 💪🌈🙏🏿🤠
Hi I had my laparoscopic hernia repair 15 days ago... my recovery has been very good until 3 days ago . I now have a searing pain in my side when I lean forward. It shocks me and burns. Now when I walk its hurting all the time. I am worried I have trapped nerves. I know its early days. Do you think this will subside in time. Cheers Tony
@@YousafKhan-ik3cv hi. I've got to back for an ultrasound due to ongoing pain and testicle being stuck high and painful....then see the surgeon. I never thought it would be this bad after 7 weeks. I also still feel as though I have the hernia. Been a nightmare...😞
How are you managing these days? Any updates, i am doing vacuum breathing and yoga. Feeling lots of air bubbles or gas than before feels like i have a small ready to pop our balloon inside me. sigh..
I'm still trying to assess my situation, there's something definitely not good but still hoping I'm just paranoid haha. Pay attention to your bowel movements when it comes to that sensation in your gut. I feel when a loop on intestine gets nocked out of place or kinked that can happen, but it also happens just with trapped gad from normal processes. Because we don't have access to swift healthcare, our minds end up trying to help ourselves.
Thanks it is troublesome however it comes and goes frequently never experienced these things before. I think i will stay away from milk or heavy meat to lessen gas if possible and see how it comes out. Cheers hold on 😊
Yeah I agree, I used all those ways for the hernia I had for 2 years & they did help alot ,but if you work on your feet & are active that internal tear gradually widens. There is a balance between not getting any surgery unless truly "needed" & the surgery & recovery becoming less successful the longer you wait/bigger the hernia.
@@Expresshonestly Actually, the longer one waits (in case of a minimally symptomatic hernia), there is no difference in surgery outcomes versus immediate operation. Also, watchful waiting is a valid option according to the 2 major textbooks - Schwartz Principles and Sabiston. The latest edition of Schwartz even "recommends" watchful waiting for asymptomatic patients. Eventually about 25 or 30 percent of patients won't need an operation ever (70% will). Pain and quality of life are similar in the groups of surgery vs observation. I myself prefer the waiting option for now, my hernia size is of a golf ball, 3 months old and on the right side. Take care!

It does sound Like nerve pain but it is very early days, there's so much inflammation in the area at that time.
Rest well & take it 1 step at a time
