A lot of animated cutscenes in games for the ps1 were good at the time , but a lot of them dont hold up very well , this however still holds up very well , it’s also very impressive how the animation here is better than hoodwinked, coincidence right.
Man... The animation quality was way ahead of it's time. Very impressive.

I think 40 wins deserves a sequel
Holy @#$*! Those cutscenes for an old ps1 game are very good looking like if the game were from the mid 2000s.
I still remember playing this as a kid in early 2000. Couldn't pass a certain sequence with the caveman. Then after years I found out you could stomp the ground to progress.
Had very fond memories with this game. ❤️
A sequel to plan? That explains why there was never a "40 More Winks."

also, Nitekap kinda looks like a mixture between I.M. Meen and Ebenezer Scrooge lol!
This came out the same year as Toy Story 2 and looks better than it.

This looks so good for ps1
The reason why these cutscenes hold up better is because they went with no realism nor trying the rough way of higher resolution models you would see in-game but rather the good 3d CG technique. That being said they still did that on n64 version in the end but that was kinda done well enough lol.

Same people who made Bionicle movie trilogy and Game Over FMVs of Tarzan. However, clean-up artists...aren't those a 2D-animation's thing?
Those credits are invented. No relation at all with the cinematics. If you want to check credits use the mobygames site and look for 40 winks, FMV (cinematic) section. That site stores all credits for any game.

The guy who voiced the antagonist in this game also voiced specter in the pal versions of ape escape 2 & 3
Some of the cutscenes look better than Toy Story 2
I'm guessing the antagonists sound like the consciences from Black & White for PC.
