    A trick I learned growing up - any number will be divisible by 3 if the numbers in it also add up to another number that’s divisible by 3! So 54 ~ 5+4 = 9 which is 3x3! An easy trick to know you’re on the right track. Thank you for this!

    Excellent tutorial! One of the best I've seen out there. My mantra has always been " pick up a bead, skip over a bead, go through a bead"! LOL You demonstrate that beautifully.

    Thank you for sharing!!! You use the deer skin cover which makes the lighter thicker and requires more coverage. When making this without an additional cover the bead count won't be the same as yours. Do you recommend adding extra beads to make sure it's divided by 3?

    So how does this differ from odd count peyote stitch?

    • @brokenarrowbeads3354
      @brokenarrowbeads3354  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This stitch is in groupings of three. And the beads cascade along each other.

    What is the difference between what you are doing and the peyote stitch?

    • @brokenarrowbeads3354
      @brokenarrowbeads3354  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This is a great question. I am not an expert at the different stitches and there is a lot of discussions about what stitch is what. I'll try to explain from I what I know about the difference. With three drop stitch, the beads are in columns of , when you add a bead it will "drop" into the 3rd spot. With peyote stitch you go through a Bead then add a Bead. There are a lot of resources on Google that can help with answering your question and some debate regarding the terminology too. Thank you for watching.

    I'm doing something wrong here! My first row keeps coming up short.

    • @brokenarrowbeads3354
      @brokenarrowbeads3354  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi carleen. What happens when you go around the first time?
      The first row will actually be the third row if that makes sense.
      The reason for that is because, first, you must take an amount of Beads, that fit the circumference of the lighter. That amount must be able to divide by 3.
      Then remove the 1/3 of. Re wrap the remaining 2/3. This amount will not completely go around, this is where you will begin to add the remaining 1/3 that you saved. As you keep going around by every 3rd one it will begin to fit. If this is your first time allow yourself to practice. You'll get this. Keep practicing :

    Everything goes fine until the end of the second row, and then it's off...

    • @brokenarrowbeads3354
      @brokenarrowbeads3354  ปีที่แล้ว

      It took me a while to figure this out too.
      You may have missed the bridge and kept going a round. Very important to do the bridge. Also sometimes an extra Bead may have been added. Took me a few times to get it going. Thank you for watching

    • @raffinataonline
      @raffinataonline ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@brokenarrowbeads3354 I finally figured out I need to count the beads I need for each row, and then I know where the bridge is when they're all added. Complicated.
