brings back memories of my father-in-law who passed away. He let me work in his cabinetry shop. It was two rooms. One had the planer in it. Time was sometimes we'd find ourselves standing knee-deep in shavings. He had some heart pine from what he told me was the floor joists of the oldest house in Duplin County, NC where he lived. The house was being taken down. He managed to get some joists. I still have that table. And a four-poster mahogany bed he made me.! He taught me much and I'll tell you I was his best hand sander !! I could cry right now I miss him so much. Silly, huh ?
That was nice how you started the film Bill as if you were in the camp in the mountains. With coffee in the morning. That table looks beautiful and it nice to see Tali Girl too.
I'm glad you enjoyed the first part of the video Colin. It's like I am actually on a perpetual camping trip living here on The Pungo Prairie no doubt! We have a rat or a mouse in the bedroom wall and it drove Tali crazy all night! I just finished putting measures in place to hopefully take care of that situation. Take care and stay safe over there in Poland my friend!
Very nice Bill. I love the mantel. I see you took down the stair railing and I hope that is next. I always wondered what it looked like finished with the carvings. The little house is a pretty awesome display of your many talents!
Thank you David! Yes I took that carved stair railing down summer before last and have only worked on it a little bit more. I definitely have that on the top 10 things to complete list for sure! Thank you again for your very kind compliments my friend!
The table turned out beautifully! I had inherited a live edge Burl slab table from my Grandfather, but I gifted it to my son upon moving. Your piece is a wonderful focal point as one enters the room. Looking forward to the Canada Goose video. Take care, my dear friend, and give Tali Girl some extra love from Kenai and I - Alone
Hey there sweet Alone! Great to hear from you! Thank you! I hope your son will someday create something legendary with that slab of live edge burl. I like the way the table presents as you enter no doubt. 'Looking forward to watching your latest video in the next day or so as well. And likewise from Tali Girl and me to you & Kenai. Stay safe & warm Sweet Friend!
Thank you Larry! I hope to have the Smoked Goose video up and running in the next couple of days or so. Thank you so much for supporting our channel. It makes my heart smile that you are enjoying the videos! God Bless My Friend!
Hi Brian, These stove are high maintenance no doubt! The one in this video is a Lopi Leyden. The one I have in the saloon is a Vermont Encore. I chose them mostly for aesthetics. They do a good job as long as you don't over fire them. Nothing beats an old fashioned Buck of Fisher though! Thank you Brian & Thanks for watching my friend!
Hi Chuck. Thank You! No I did not. I am going to check my junk folder right now. No, I don't see it there either. Please try again. bill@pungoprairie.com. I'm only taking orders from Tali at the moment. LOL. Great hearing from you & I will watch for that email. Thank you my friend!

Absolutely gorgeous Bill. The soft light creates a relaxing mood & brings out the natural colors in the wood.
Thank you so much Reginald! Yes, I have always been fascinated with wood textures & grains. Thanks for watching my friend!
