  • Culture Shock: Five Generations Surviving Each Other While Trying to Change the World.
“But I need me time!” If that sentence makes you want to tear your hair out, Dr. Joanna Massey says you’re probably a Gen Xer or Baby Boomer who is coping with the massive Culture Shock that Americans are experiencing thanks to Millennials and Gen Z. In her entertaining and quick moving TEDx talk, Dr. Massey helps us see life through the lens of each of the five primary generations, and offers three easy steps you can use over dinner to put the civility back into your civil discourse. Dr. Joanna Dodd Massey is an experienced Board Director and C-level executive, who advises executive teams at Fortune 500 companies, startups, and nonprofits. She has worked for over 30 years strategizing on global brand reputation management, crisis communications, culture transformation, and corporate social responsibilities. She is the author of two books, Culture Shock: Surviving Five Generations in One Workplace and Communicating During a Crisis: Influencing Others When the Stakes Are High. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

This is seriously THE best thing I've ever heard/read/seen as it relates to what we often call 'the divisiveness in our country today. Thank you for doing this TED Talk Joanna

Great video! I'd love to play this for my students, but I noticed that the captions are "automatic" and thus not always accurate. This creates extra challenges for students that are deaf or 2nd language learners, as the captions are important! May I request that you transcribe this video (edit the captions and provide accurate punctuation) so that everyone can watch it? Thank you!

She's suggesting that we let teenagers knuckle us under over politicized propaganda.
