Chicken Roosts - Horizontal Edition

In this video we are moving from a 45 degree angled roosting system to a horizontal system. It is lower than our previous set up and takes up much less space inside the coop.

The horizontal roost is better for many reasons aside from just saving space and easier access/cleaning. Tiered roosts will make the birds fight each other for pecking order much more often and stress them out.

That’s good to know. We’ve seen some pecking happening with these horizontal roosts. However I do think that since these birds are new and still figuring out the order it’s to be expected.
