I sooo agree with you about not spending the time to retwist when you don’t even really care for the look of a retwist. I mean of course it looks nice, but I too prefer my roots grown out and hair puffy with volume vs it looking neat and flat to my head. Andddd I’m also similar to you as far as pushing through ppls opinions and standing firm on what works best for you. I had a lot of nay sayers at the beginning of my journey and I was like 😐🥱 lol your hair looks great Loc twin! Per usual....Happy 4 year Locaversary to us! 😊
Oh yeah, and what is that oil you use to moisturize your hair? I feel like lately my hair is so dry no matter how much I moisturize it. I have no idea why, because I’ve been drinking a lot more water daily and eating healthier and it seems that my hair is getting drier 🤔
Yes! I love volume! I feel like it looks like I've lost hair whenever I get a retwist. The contrast is crazy on me.lol Even on the rare occasion I retwist, I do a very light retwist, to maintain some slight volume.. There are always others who think they know what's best for you. But who knows what youve been through you better than yourself? It feels good to stand strong in spite of all that. And now look at your locs! They're fantastic! Thank you, luv! Big congrats to us both!!🎉🎊
I understand! This has always been a tricky issue for me, since my hair has always wanted to dry out. Right after I wet my hair with water, I coat my locs and snd scalp with 100% castor oil. For me, it's the only way since my scalp doesn't produce enough oil to travel down the locs. After I do that, this locs feel soft and smooth. I hope you find a method that works for you! But good job working on staying healthy!
Haha-yeah, at first I was trying different things to avoid it, and then eventually accepted that it just comes with the territory. You're welcome! Im happy to share the journey. : )
I love your spirit and your channel. I just started my loc journey 2 weeks ago so I really appreciate you sharing the different stages that you went through . Congratulations on your 4 year anniversary and your locs look amazing and healthy. You have inspired me and I look forward to seeing more of your videos in the future 🥰
Thank you so much! I enjoyed documenting the changes and I am honored to have inspired you in a positive way. Congratulations to you on starting your journey. How are you feeling about it so far?
Nice update and lovely journey so far! I enjoy avocado oil in the cooler months and almond oil during the warmer months. I much prefer puffier roots as my hair looks so flat after a fresh retwist.
Thank you! 😊 Ooo-im a fan of avocado oil. It's such a light oil but not too runny, if that makes sense I'm so glad you're not afraid to rock a fuller look! I hope you are enjoying your journey, as well!
🥳 💕 🎉 I normally don't leave comments, but I just want to tell you that I really like your channel and your personality. 🤗 Our hair looks like. I'm now 3years4months locked. Best wishes from Luxembourg. God bless you.
I'm so honored that you said something. Thank you for youe kind words and for taking the time to comment. You have made it so far in the journey! Congratulations to you. Intetesting that our hair looks similar. Luxembourg?!!! I have never "met" anyone from Luxemburg, but have wanted to visit, for quite some time. That is amazing! I love to travel and I'm super curious about it. Are you originally from there?
I know! I can't believe it. But feeling so thankful for lots for making my life so much easier across the past 4 years. Thank you! And welcome back! Haven't seen you on here in a min
It's not just you. ; ) Very observant! When I started recording with my real glasses, the lenses were reflecting too much of what was outside, so my eyes wouldn't show up on camera when I was standing by the window. So I wore the prop glasses for recording instead, staying similar to my usual look....but without lenses. Lol
Thank you!😊 My sister doesn't have her own loc channel, but her video updates can be found on this channel (I usually have to beg her to let me film her locs lol). I hope that helps!
We gotta grow! I see where you retwist and why u don’t! That retwist look feels awkward until the hair is more chill!. I’m not going to twist my hair! I may rubber band the roots at times! 🇺🇸❤️💯
Yes, for me the retwist made my head look so "scalpy" lol It's be very freeing to not worry about retwisting. Where are you at in your loc journey? Good for you for stepping away from retwisting. I have a fear of rubberbands (in my hair)from my braiding days. Lol

You can always give yourself an acv rinse for the lint or buildup issue in the back.
In some cases, it only brings it to the surface lol. I think it will take several rounds to even have a chance of getting it out.
4 years?!? Time flies. They look great!
I know! I can't believe it. But feeling so thankful for lots for making my life so much easier across the past 4 years.
