Excellent video, Jan. You showed it as it is...honest, straightforward with the good and the bad. What a fine young man you are. Appreciate your hard work, especially when things don't go so well.
Bummer on the bale wagon and that tire, isn't it amazing how the boss in this case your dad has a eagle eye and saw that damage to the bale wagon. You know when they are pissed when they don't say anything but just shake their head and walk away...I'd rather them yell and get it out of the way. Good luck, Aloha brother 🤙🏼🤙🏼
Poor days happen, that’s what comes with the farm! If I can offer any advice from what I’ve experienced, ensure that you don’t adjust or try to push the bales tighter together when on the picker because if a bale is sitting on one of those flags/tabs it will surely bust. Also, try to lift the bales off the ground a little quicker so that they don’t drag. I know this isn’t your issue, but it may save you some time and work down the road. Thanks for the content Jan!
Jan, sorry for the rough day. Thank you for sharing, we know you don’t have to share the bad times, we’ve all been there. I know how tough of a day it was for you, we all feel your pain.
The raw emotion I hope everything gets better. Thank you for not editing it out. You are braver than I am. Thank you and keep going. It gets better man. If you need anything we are here for you.
Every hard patch causes us to learn and grow so we can face the tougher obstacles ahead. Life wasn't meant to be easy. We all need to experience the rough parts so we can learn to appreciate the good ones! Good on you Jan!
First of all, you are so good in front of a camera. You always seem very composed and extremely sweet. I hope your Dad was not mad at you for the damage to the hay bale loader & tractor tire!! Keep up the great videos as I really enjoy them.
Sorry for your back luck today, sometimes going full blast is not always the most productive, fortunately the bale trailer is an easy fix to bend the front support back. As my dad, who also was named Jan, used to say “ better days ahead “ . Cheers my friend.
Great video Jan! Sorry you're having a bad day. Glad you show the good with the bad. Hard work every day, and then more hard work from unexpected results. Hope the next days are beautiful sunrise and sunsets for you! Thanks for the video!
Hello there: I hope you guys are doing well, and getting ready for the winter. I am an avid follower. Many episodes ago, you were cleaning the parlor, and my question is how much pressure is on those yellow roses, and they seem to do a very good job. Also, your sister was cleaning the calf barn, with a high pressure foamer, with a detergent jug connected. What brand is that, and what do you guys use as a detergent? Thanks a lot for all the good tips and knowledge. God Bless!
Too bad about the bad day. The true test of a man is how he reacts to pressure. You past the test young man. Unwavering patience and control. Thanks for being a fine example of a good person. You were raised right.
When you got to the bale stack, you should force the bales on the starboard side (right sitting in the tractor)all the way back so you fill the problem spot, and then have someone watch to see if the full marker is ripping that bale. That has to be it but you have to load on at the yard and have someone watch as it pushes to the back of the wagon.
Hello Jan, first things first. Your videos are great! This is for me kinda eyes opening.. Im also a farmers boy.. but from kinda different enviroment (central Europe, Czechia). To the point.. I have a question on you. How many people are operating the whole farm? On a daily basis, not in harvesting season.. thanks a lot for your answer. Keep pushing great work.. Its hard to be a farmer these days.. best wishes
Hi Jan! we are from a farm school in Sweden named Uddetorp, and we watch your videos every English lesson. It´s very fun and we learn a lot by looking at your videos. Continue with what your doing you´re great at it!// Isabelle and Alva
@6:43. Why not add a (removal option) drag overextension pickup arm to the far-out pickup arm. To give more dual wheel clearance. When running dual wheel backs on your whatever tractor at the time.
Isn't it true, dad's always see the oops instantly, and are not impressed 😣. Happens to us all, no one was injured though, so thats good. Hope tomorrow is better 👍👍
Hi Jan, I just completed every one of your videos, all the way back 3 years ago. I'm subscribed and gave you a thumbs up on all of them. I also watched all of 10th generation Eric's videos. One big question though, why don't you hang large sticky fly traps in your barns. They land and don't leave. Good Luck, Ken in RI, USA
I feel you man, some days on the farm seems like nothing goes right. All those problems do make you learn alot though. If I had to start work at 4 am I would be making all kinds of mistakes, lol.
Some days are diamonds and some days are stone. I know all too well. You just have to learn from whatever happens, try your best to fix what you can and overcome what you can't. I pray things work out the best for you. Thanks for keeping it real.
I have never seen it take him this long to post. I wonder if his dad took his camera or sent him home. I sure hope now, I am crrazy about that dude. He is the best, he is awesome, I just can't get enough of him. he is always working. hopefully nothing but good for his whole life. Hi really did have a funny look on his face at the end of the video.
I love how technology is changing for the better since I was around milking barns in Ontario when younger . Great video, keep up the good work 👍. Smiles 😃 from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
And I got my welder to make me hitch that bolts on wagon to run dauls and be able to turn all the way to frame without hitting the bale stopper. I blew a tire doing that. u lucky bud. We run dauls 24/7 for traction and stability and wouldn't want to do without. mabey for straw would singles would work. Keep making videos man!
congratulations on hitting 180 thousand subscribers. I can only dream of hitting that many subscribers one day. well deserved glad to see you there. keep up the good work. thanks for another great video. I've learned so much from you. stay safe and God bless.
Hi Jan. Sorry to see you struggling with equipment that much. Maybe the chains are working like knifes at the moment the bale is being thrown into it's position on the wagon. Or the bale might be rubbing against the swing arm or indicator mount when advancing the chain backwards. Is it chance that it is the same bale breaking twice? Appreciate you sharing this with us because this is what real life on a farm looks like. Jan, do you follow Dutch channels on TH-cam? I think VolmerFilm is quite impressive.
Hey Jan, I'm truly impressed that you were willing to put this video out. I'm sure that Dad ain't happy, but I appreciate your willingness to let people see that s##t happens on the farm. Of course, I also remember when you backed the skid steer into the concrete wall. No worries, this too shall pass.
Hi Dad should be teaching him how to Seed, how to Combine.. I’m not sure if he has his Class 1 or not but yeah. Jan could be of a lot more use on the Farm knowing these things. We were doing all that when we were 16.
Hi Jan I am a dairy farmer from Northern Ireland it’s interesting to see dairy farming in different parts of the world how many cows do you milk your cows are very clean and look very healthy a credit to your management.
hello Jan, from Albin and Wilma and we are in a agriculture school in sweden, we watch your videos in english class and its the best part of the lesson. Tanks for posting.
Love the vid kid- I learned early on when you break something you find a way to improve upon the design if you can and learn from your mistakes. Your doing a great job!!
Jan, you mentioned the milking waiting area gets slippery. Wouldn't sprinkling just a light dusting of sand help with the traction and have a secondary benefit of grinding the slime down a bit? Just a thought.🤔
Question on the floor cleanup waste to the pond, sand/manure/other stuff: As I'm an eat the food at stores city folk. Thank you, farmers, as I'm an eater level here. My question is why don't you make a 20-foot high or higher screening platform as the pumping that is a mix of everything going to the pond gets filtered before get to the pond. The point of pump up high to a filter rolling screen spreader tossing out sand and other stuff not water to the side to fall down to pick up as solids. before going to the pond. That is harder to deal with. I hope you get the idea here.
Hello Jan!! We are from a school in Sweden. Our schools name is Uddetorp. Almost every English lessons we look at your youtube videos. They are inspiring and fun to watch. // Nowa and Anna :)
Hey Ian.. What bad day for you of trouble for big bale hay, might very tight to burst up and sorry about 2 damages and keep working hard !! Busy for milking time!!😉🐄🚜🚜🤟🥛❤️
I thrue that indicater and cables in the bush first time it started ripping bales. Don't need it. You can tell whe u roll your six bale back cause wagon lifts up a bit in front. and u can also easily see down midde your two rows and count the bales if need be. I
Man 1 thing right after another.....that sucks man I guess you will get that every once in a while on the farm. Best thing to do is learn from your mistakes and make sure it doesn't happen again it is what it is. I've hit the tongue on the hydro swing haybine with the tire before so I know how that makes you feel and it's from simply not paying full attention to the machine but things happen man is what it is now. Thanks for the video
hello there. i just signed up to your channel, and i seen the ripped net wrap on the bales and you think it’s the lever that you took off. it probably is the colprit, but i also noticed when you took it off that it was really squeaky and maybe a little grease or wd40 would help that situation. let me know how it goes, or guess i’ll see how it goes lol. i’m from alberta here, and got brought up farming. anyway good luck , hopefully you resolve the issue, and love your content. best of luck!!
Nice video Jan and it was nice to see the Milk Truck in your video must be it's good to remove the extra tires so it doesn't happen again what happened is another mistake again Hopefully removing the extra tires will mean it won't happen again a good lesson learnt from I Know Elliot will be fine with you as he has Confidence in you Jan when he's not at the Farm he can rely on you I liked the video of you doing your Dad's Job it's Nice and thats an interesting ending to the video there Jan you missed the Ending message despite that it's an Excellent video of your Kielstra Holsteins Dairy Farm I enjoy watching your videos including watching videos from other youtubers as well.
Live and learn and hope the mistake doesn’t cost to much! That’s life. The outside of the road is usually bumpier, could be why that side split but the inner bale did not.
Question on Steer/Cow selling the packing plants. Generally. If you buy a 1500lb steer from a farmer for 2500 bucks. What is the end sellable meat total from one steer? As you end up with 550-800lbs. And you sell insides for dog food and the hide for leatherwork. So, do you double your money per steer?
Amazing how the big main boss, owner, manager notices any damage straight away! I was like that when a dairy manager here in the UK with any of the guys from the dairy or the arable team using any of our stuff.
Jackknifing was not intentional and you have probably taught some peeps what not to do, bugger that it was one of those crappy days, hopefully you have solved the issue with the bales. Another great video though, thank you for shairing,
Question: If have time. Can you put on patron a chat/call signup live? Chat/call you as a farmer? For a per-hour fee. I will pay a fee for that to just late at night to fill/explain the whole milk farming process. Point here, I've been watching lots of your videos posts. Thank You! For this information and seeing you need more thanks. But as a none farmer, I have so many questions that can be answered better by phone for a fee.
The length of your straw also depends on the type of combine being used. Rotary combines chop up the straw into much smaller pieces than a conventional combine.
That stuff happens when your farming bro !! Everyone makes mistakes live and learn young man . Ya the only reason we ran duals was plowing or haroing in the spring
hi jan, i am a student from a school in sweden named uddetorp. we watch a video from you every lesson. i love your case tractor. we learn much from your videos. keep it goiong
We had trouble baling straw a few years ago behind a combine that was shredding the straw. It didn't seem to matter how many wraps we put on the bales, they would just burst when we looked at them the wrong way. I really enjoy your videos!
Ay Jan! Sorry about the tire and the wagon. Duals can be harder to judge when you’re not used to them. We all do dumb stuff sometimes. It’s called life. Hard to be perfect everyday! Just ask your dad 😉!

Great, learning English from a farmer of Dutch descent 🙂 I like it as mutch as you do. Have you seen 'A dairy on the prairie' channel by Jan's sister?

But you maybe need more then 3 wraps net on 🤔
I put 4 to 5 turns on my straw bales, as I get lot breaking open…
🤙🤙👍👍

A few months back, there was a 2 week stretch where Jan didn't upload. He had lost his GoPros. Hopefully that didn't happen again.

Sorry about the bad day. You have good attitude about it. Think positive.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. What is the normal feast for your family?
Of course dad noticed Jan! Blessings.
The length of your straw also depends on the type of combine being used. Rotary combines chop up the straw into much smaller pieces than a conventional combine.
HEJA JAN!!!! DU ROCKAR FETT
Speak English and no YELLING
Jan it’s the net wrap! We stopped using that brand of wrap and have had way less troubles!
Dang! Sometimes you're just gonna have a horrible day.... and this was one of those days! Tomorrow is a new day!
Sorry about your bad day - Hopefully tomorrow will be better!
Nice cows
cool tracktors
Check your spelling
Hey Jan , sometimes you have one of those days 🥴🤭
I hate days like that - just gotta call it a right off with maybe some lessons for next time. Can’t get mad, just pivot!
👍👌❤🇨🇦, another Sask boy, me too
That stuff happens when your farming bro !! Everyone makes mistakes live and learn young man . Ya the only reason we ran duals was plowing or haroing in the spring
We all have off days. Great video tho.
I was thinking about the indicator, maybe make it more rounded on each edge.

tough day Jan. thanks for this. 👍🇨🇦
Sorry it was such a bad day hopefully it went better afterwards. You showing what went wrong will help others , even though it happening to you sucks
As a milktruck driver in Belgium I am amazed how little milk they can load with so many axles.
Man, some days are just awful, we say some days it would've been better to just have stayed in bed😂 but you still did a good job💪
We all have those day where nothing goes well for us we have to press on and get it done bro you guys want to your sss off good luck!👍🙏✝️
Hi from Uddetorpsskola
Great video keep them coming.
Dad's always notice everything. 😊
Let him go get the bales. See if any bales break on him. Ha, ha.
Now that is a Flush 😮
Sorry that you had a bad day. God willing next will all be good.
great video Jan. Sorry for the bad day. Hope you got it fixed
Ay Jan! Sorry about the tire and the wagon. Duals can be harder to judge when you’re not used to them. We all do dumb stuff sometimes. It’s called life. Hard to be perfect everyday! Just ask your dad 😉!
That MX285 come with a broom holder? Handy, no?
@5:24.. Would it not be best for the milk tanker to only load just under the fine weight? To avoid being fined anttime.
It's called LIFE!
Their still waving because they haven't seen the mess yet!! 🙄😜
Good on you for sharing the bloopers.
No doubt and Great comment! Cheers
