Making an antler priming horn with a spring loaded dispenser

My friend gave me a few racks that came from white tail deer. I need a priming horn and the solution solved its self. I hollow out the antler and add ebony caps.

You need to practice a little shop safety in drilling horn the way you do. You could have badly mangled your thumb. I'm a retired tool and die maker and I would strongly recommend you take a machine shop safety course.

Be gentle to horn. You can easily cut a thread into the material, especially with the inch-thread system that is coarser and steeper than metrical screws. Then you take a brass fitting from the hardware store, plumber department, one of those that are used to reduce the diameter of pipes. They have e.g. the thread for 1/2 inch pipes on the outside and for 1/4 inch pipies in their inside, or no threading in their insides so that you can cut in whatever you need. Turn those fittings in, secure them with a drop of epoxy or super glue and you have a versatile little horn that can be used for a number of interchangeble dispensers.
