    For anyone still looking for a possible fix to this, I'm glad Aiman mentioned it, but I just learned this before watching: the cause of my P2646 was due to my VTEC OIL PRESSURE SWITCH (4:14) and what literally happened is that the connector had possibly vibrated off (I knew it had to be simple cause I had bought brand new ones half a year ago, and before that with my older engine [I blew a gasket on that one] I was buying a new solenoid and/or gasket every 3 months). Thanks for mentioning it in the video, and hope my find helps someone out there. Sucks I gotta sell this 05 Accord, helps me learn a lot about the little things thats important, in addition to maintenance

    Hello, good Lord the last time I saw you I was looking for some information, about how to grow up turmeric. Was so easy for you, but no for me didn't happen. Why to pay if can fix it, you are so intelligent, and likeable. And of course such a good brother😊

  • @ChrisDBest
    @ChrisDBest 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but based on Aiman's research and my experience, if you get error P2646 and you keep up with your maintenance, it could be your solenoid that’s the problem(solenoid and/or gasket or connectors). If you don't keep up with maintenance, it could be your engine that's the problem (fluid levels mainly)

    Thank you for the video and I appreciate it yes generally a Low oil's issue with this Honda's civic and yeah you gotta leak somewhere.. Cause you should not be 2 or 3 courts low. So you're right on the money with that rocker arm code bill but it's generally just an issue of you aint got Enough oil in your car. RLTW 3/75

  • @crieverytim
    @crieverytim 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Paid $400 for parts labor on oil pressure solenoid due to car losing power/ car bucks when accelerating. Now I'm getting this rocker arm oil pressure switch code. Car is still bucking.
    Apparently oil pan gasket is leaking oil as well.
    At this point i can't dump more money info this car. Looking for an additive to help w oil pressure.

    • @showcase2396
      @showcase2396 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      the bucking was probably due to a bad oil pressure switch, the part is is about 30 dollars on amazon, mine had the same issue after i replaced the solenoid. the parts arent too complicated to change as long as you have the right tools. that 400 dollar bill you paid for the vtec solenoid is about $50 or $70 for a quality one, and an hour of your time to change it out, check out rockauto for car parts. They're great cars but they nickle and dime you. you fix one problem and another soon arises. hope you fixed your issue!

      @crieverytim ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@showcase2396 thank you! For now the cold weather seems to have solved my problems. Thankfully I'm not commuting 5 hrs a day so it's not a pressing problem and i do have the luxury of trying to fix it myself once spring comes around. 👍

    Thank you for making this!!! I've been battling the EVIL P2646 for over a year!
    I've cleaned both screens, it came back.
    I've replaced the assembly with genuine Honda part, it came back. I've replaced the VVT solenoid on the left side of the engine, it came back.
    I'm always up to date with my oil changes and I'm not losing oil. At this point, I'm at a loss, help 😭😭😭😭

      David Garcia sams here. I found. This online tonight. ---
      It was an oil pressure issue I only had 10 psi at idle and I believe around thirty at 2300 rpm but 60 at3500 rpm. It didn't always have enough pressure to operate v tec I tried Lucas additive also and no help. We figured out something we installed a relay and jumped wires from switch to solenoid and a ground. When PCM operates the v tec solenoid it will open the relay and think the v tec is working normal. Seems fine now have driven about 40 miles. It was figure this out or replace engine which runs great like it always has.

      @lynnnegriroldan2988 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      So, it’s been 3 months since you replied with your fix. How is your workaround working out now? I’m facing the exact same issue. Replaced both screens with genuine Honda replacements. Replaced the entire assembly, which worked for a month. Increased the oil weight to a 10W30 High Mileage oil. The only thing I haven’t tried is the Sea Foam additive, but that’s next. I don’t expect a miracle from the Sea Foam though.

      Try checking the connectors (switches) on the solenoid. This error just happened to me and I think over time the oil pressure switch got vibrated off cuz when I lightly pulled on the switch, it just popped right off. Pushed it back in and tugged again and didn't budge. My accord now has 1 less problem to worry about

    Hello
    I replaced the VTEC Solenoid and gasket on Sunday and drove it around and drove to work fine. Then on Wednesday the engine began surging at about 2800 rpm .
    Havent checked codes yet.
    Could the new one be bad ?
    Thanks

    • @SoSlow252

      It could be that, the vtc strainer, or the vtc actuator. Especially if you buy a non OEM vtec solenoid lol

    I have a 2006 Honda odyssey it gives me the code P2649 Rocker arm oil control solenoid VTEC solenoid valve circuit high voltage. Do I just change the port or worry about high-voltage?
    I also have other codes P2770, P0970, P0980, P0966, P0974. There all giving me high input, high circuit or low circuits. Should I just change the parts or is this a different issue?
    The car wouldn’t start I thought it was a battery and alternator issue. I replaced both of them. The car ran for a few miles and it shut off on me I couldn’t start it without a jump. Also I need to mention before it shut off on me every time I stopped and try to accelerate it hardly did.

    thats the worst you can do buying those parts from ebay amazon or autozne they are junk for me is totally worth it going to the dealer spend 30 mts and get my 10 dollar gasket and spend another hour installing the gasket on my car because is so difficult
    got a part from autozone installed and 2 months later leaking again
    dealer for quick fix or rock auto if youare not in a hurry
