Java fern can survive in low or medium light only it was high light that's the reason for melting You can try (Hygrophila pinnatifida) on driftwood for highlights plant And DIY will work for that size of tank and how long lasting for you sis

Inspiring and great efforts. Tank looks gorgeous. U have added carbon in sun sun filter. As far as i know, we should not add carbon in planted tank filter as ut wil absorb all nutrients required for plants.

Plant heavily.....😊 black background vinyl sheet could have glued on the backside of the tank....😢 Need scuds or pods or daphnia like micro organisms that feed on dead plants and fishes including fish wastes.... then only it becomes an ecosystem.
Hi bro. Size of our tank is 90cm, so we use one litre bottle of DIY co2 24/7, and we don't have any side effects like excessive co2 production. If you have a small size tank, you can control the co2 by unplugging the pipe from the tank during night time. Thnks for watching.

24 - 28 degree is gud! If it is more than that we can use Aquarium fan or chiller. And we can avoid direct or indirect sunlight near Aquarium to maintain nominal temperature.
You can remove the charcoal in filter and add any bio filter , as charcoal removes many nutrients in water the is required for plants growth.
