    Watch the hands at @3:05, the driver was late to countersteer during the OEM trial compared to the Eibach groups, which accentuated the oversteer and made the Eibach products look more controlled.

    I've been using Eibach for year (2 previous cars and now my motorcylce). It's an aftermarket spring for real conditions. More control but you don't really compromise the ride when matched with the right shocks and/ or struts. I love putting Eibach Springs with Bilstein shocks.

    This test is totally biased. The Eibach equipped vehicle is using different wheels and likely stickier tires. And they make it seem like dive and forward weight transfer is going to decrease stopping performance when actually the dive allows the front weight transfer to press down on the front tires which typically are responsible for around 60-70% of the braking on most road cars.

      +Angel Christov 100% agree

    • @SianaGearz
      @SianaGearz 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Angel Christov Good call, but i looked again and it appears they used the same rims on stock and pro-kit, but swapped them out for sport-system-plus. Conspicuously, no braking distance comparison between stock and pro-kit. Across all 3 suspensions, there is no inclination angle difference in the braking test either - the whole vehicle just sits lower. It seems that in slalom test, the sport-system-plus vehicle wins not due to springs, but due to anti-roll bar replacement, which is not available with pro-kit, and in the brake test due to wheel and tire replacement.
      I guess they have demonstrated that their spring replacements lower the vehicle without totally ruining the suspension design, instead of demonstrating that they have improved handling. But not every vehicle really needs to be lowered. ;) Scraping the ground does not make you cool.

    • @Angel-HC
      @Angel-HC 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Siana Gearz I'm just hoping they made the right considerations when choosing the strut/shock length and spring rates when lowering. Especially on a car with Macpherson front suspension where you can quickly run out of suspension travel, that definitely won't make the car feel better. Besides I've always thought the ride height on modern BMWs was visually appealing in stock form. And I know BMW knows how to design a suspension better than Eibach, in terms of grip and compliance.

  • @leonid998
    @leonid998 9 ปีที่แล้ว +31

    I'm having one question: even not about the wheels... however, that would be important too. Why the driver makes everything to fake the results? The steering reactions of the driver are just different, which is especially seen in the second part, where you can notice by the wheel position that the driver doesn't prevent the skid, and even helping it.

    Well the trade off for better handling is comfort in ride. If you drive many curvy roads or take corners at high speeds great. But if you drive nothing but many freeway miles and long straights then you'll appreciate the stock suspension. I have had sport springs, race springs, and coilovers and know from over 30 years of driving.

    One thing is the wheel size, but other is that as I experienced if you have sport suspension the car slides sooner at bad road conditions (wet or in snow). I dont have Eibach suspension only KONI, but my stock suspension was softer than the new one, and mostly in snow a bit harder to drive with the KONI. I think sport suspension works better only in good conditions.

    I put a Pro Plus kit on my 2011 WRX hatch. I never did anything to the motor. After I got it to handle like it should have it was all the car I needed. I'm getting a Kia Stinger GT in a couple of weeks and I've already ordered the Pro Plus kit for it. This stuff works as advertised. You'll feel it more than the video would suggest, but it feels good.

    • @snifmeister69
      @snifmeister69 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      1. Eibach springs usually fit on your OEM shocks. 2.Good springs are usually better than cheap coilovers. And correcly set up coilsovers are not shaky. 3. No, you probably don't need to modify your fenders, since the drop isn't THAT aggressive (unless you're going with huge wheels or something).
      P.S. If your shocks have higher mileage (more than ~60,000 miles or so) you probably do best in replacing them, since putting spings on high mileage shocks will wear them out completely very quick.

    In the slalom, the driver turns far wider than necessary to make the stock BMW slide, but in the upgraded BMW he drives a much straighter line and corners more conservatively.
    But it's the wet/dry simulation that takes the cake. With the stock BMW the driver turns into the slide to make it worse, while with the modified BMWs he countersteers to avoid a slide.
