@@smashmallow1012 to be fair Team Skull wasn’t really the evil team either, the Aether foundation was. Still doesn’t mean that it gets team yell off the hook for being (in my opinion) very bland, annoying, and generally tedious feeling
Team skull will always be something i love the most in pokemon. Besides being goofy as hell, they all had so much heart and respect for eachother and actively express a family kind of love, even playfully teasing eachother but having that "never back down" vibe. Even Guzma being apparently abused having such a strong "get back up" vibes. I couldn't love the whole rainbow rocket arc anymore what with them trying to redeem themselves, and the coolest way to tie in some classic faces. I hope for their return
You have to admit it at some point. Out of all of the "modern" pokemon games, Gen 7 was the best one. And even among the older games, it's still at least A tier.
In terms of story writing, music and customization i think sun and moon were amazing Pokemon games. Unfortunately after you finished the story the game quickly dried out and i ran out of things to do. The battle tree was cool, but its still essentially the same as the battle tower in the end. Wish someday they would just bring back the battle frontier
It's too bad that the only time this theme can be fully heard is against the last Grunt battle in the game since that's the only moment where a Skull grunt isn't beaten in 10-20 seconds.
Team skull was a step in the right direction. They were by far the best “evil” team purely for their comedic reasons. Now that we had our fun with Team Yell and Team Skull, I want a truly diabolical and evil team, like, worse than galactic or plasma
I love how every Team Skull theme has the exact same opening. They have strong bonds with each other - they're all people who became the family's black sheep one way or another who decided to stick together and do some not very morally correct things to live.
Team yell is at least unique and creative while Aqua, magma, galactic and flare grunts are all basically the same. No personality, just boring and all brainless controllet characters no one is gonna care about. Rocket got personality mostly from thr anime, Plasma had several good characters (like flare but more interesting and less dumb looking). Gen 7 and 8 introduced more unique teams, even if they aren't people who are going to recreate the world etc. They are way more interesting and fun compared to the rest. Like a hooligan team that tries everything to help one character to win the gym challenge, in a stadium? Thats actually a great idea.
MY HEART STOPPED AND THE LAST 20 YEARS OF MY LIFE FLASHED BEFORE MY EYES, AS THIS MUSIC PULLED ME AWAY TO THE NEXT WORLD. Gods they hit me right in the nostalgia.
PikaPlayzHD Some people think it's okay and others think it doesn't fit too well with the region. The rest of about 90% of people think it's pretty good though.
Team Skull grunts though... Let's see, they rhyme their sentences, they move their arms like they took lessons from Col. Vangarre from Xenoblade. They act like their tough but are not and EVERYONE in Alola knows it. I love this villanous team!
Don't forget their hilarious dialogue: "Just because we switched places you can't recognize us?" "Why is he waving at me? Can't he see that we're being invaded?" "Hey! I already have self-esteem issues without you beating me!" "But we're both named Grunt!"
Just realized how quickly you got this uploaded. The demos been out for like five whole seconds, and you already got all these extracted and uploaded. You wasted NO time lol. And I love the bits of r/b/y they stuck in.
PlasmaSix red blue and yellow? I'm not that good with Pokémon. I got into it some months ago after i decided to replay mystery dungeon (i didn't lnow about moves, items and stuff essential for playing the game back before that).
+L33t agent I gotcha. thats fine. just for future reference, first gen is called r/b/y, second is called g/s/c, and so on and so forth. you just take the first letter of the games or in HG/SS or FR/LG 2 letters, but once you figure it out, it's not that bad.
These guys are just a bunch of goofy delinquents I can't help but love. Cosplaying a Team Skull grunt would be really fun. (I'll get to show my shoulder wolf tattoo and people would never think I'm actually a medical student.)
That they had an excess of Kanto references like we didnt had enough on Pokemon XY targeting a nostalfags audience. Thats the only thing I dislike about Pokemon Sun/Moon.
I love this team SO MUCH that i visited Po Town's Pokemon Center a lot just to donate. Poor grunts can't pay rent :( And their response to me paying them always warms my heart❤️
I've been so obsessed with Guzma's theme over the years that I forgot how much of a banger the regular grunt music is. Also low-key reminds me of Crash Bandicoot music at times.
This game had a lot of great moments, huh? It felt like every sidequest or non-story interaction was brimming with humor. Pyukumuku chucking, The man who wants to see the *sun* and *moon* pokemon, The guy who talks about how the magmar in your party looks like his mom, the magmar not in your party that gives you a "quick ball", The guy dressing as a machamp to get chicks, The ditto 5, Hau trying to finish his damn question, every interaction with Team Skull... I could probably write another paragraph of this kind of stuff, there was just so much...
Yeah, it really is, feels like they're taking all of the good elements of the old games, adding on to them with new ones, they just keep on getting better and better, while still holding on to the older elements
Definitely favorite evil team. I liked team plasma and the recent team star too for how they played into the story, but team skull are by far most hilarious and entertaining characters in this franchise to me. The way they move, their faces when you destroy them, the TOP TIER dialogue. And they have a banger of a theme (most teams do but this is one of my faves)
gen7 had some of the best music in my opinion. People dislike them for the handholding and too much dialogue and I agree, but they were unique and had cool music so I don't care. I should replay them
At first I wasn't too sure about Team Skull, but as I played more of the game they started to grow on me. And now I've reached the point that I'm actually looking forward to fighting against them. After Team Rocket and Team Galactic, these guys might become a solid #3 or perhaps even higher...? Job well done, Game Freak =)
When I first encountered Team Skull I thought to myself "this must be a joke, Game Freak"... ... then I realized they indeed were a joke, and I absolutely adore them for it. Team Skull easily #1.
For me, they're number 1. They have so much depth and style compared to the previous, stoic hardasses, and they deconstruct some of Pokemon's big cliches.
I feel like Gamefreak realized they struck gold with the "Actually, the main antagonists are not these overtly stereotypical thug types but this big evil company people already know!", and I'm scared they'll try to make more Team Skulls just as they did with Team Yell. Team SKull should really be one of those one-time-only deals, because a plot twist isn't a plot twist anymore when you keep twisting it in every subsequent story (*ahem* Disney *ahem).

To be fair, Yell didn't end up being the main villainous organisation, that would be Macro Cosmos.
I hope for their return
the team skull grunts are a joke and I love them for it
Forensicswaifu what did you say they at least don't want any legendary's only sell pokemon
The Story of Sun and Moon is just completely fucking amazing....
MrZer0gravity agreed m8
MrZer0gravity Ikr :o
MrZer0gravity Best story in a long time :)
Best story since Gen 5 :)
Wife goes crazy over husband who lied about dying in wormhole in order to plant beans.
All i can picture while listening to this is the team skull grunt doing his weird movements
Joe Waldren The flex gets me everytime. 😂😂😂
Joe Waldren uhh.. me too.
It’s called dancing
You have to admit it at some point. Out of all of the "modern" pokemon games, Gen 7 was the best one. And even among the older games, it's still at least A tier.
finally
Sun and Moon was kind of lacking in gameplay but amazing at everything else
In terms of story writing, music and customization i think sun and moon were amazing Pokemon games. Unfortunately after you finished the story the game quickly dried out and i ran out of things to do. The battle tree was cool, but its still essentially the same as the battle tower in the end. Wish someday they would just bring back the battle frontier
Sun and Moon was a bit boring but I completely agree in terms of the Ultra versions.
Man i'm so glad gen 7 was when I was introduced to pokemon 😭

Team Flare disliked because Team Skull has more style than they do.
Team Skull has more flare than Team Flare :P
It's black......*THEY ARE WEARING BLAAAAAACK!* AAAAaaaaah! (*o*) (fangirls)

Black is the best color, because it's the absence of color, respect the Zekrom.
Marshadow Yes!

Well absence of color in the additive color scheme. In the subtractive scheme it would be white
That "yeh..." at the start kills me every time.

Yeh
When is it I may just be deaf because I can't hear the yeh
It's too bad that the only time this theme can be fully heard is against the last Grunt battle in the game since that's the only moment where a Skull grunt isn't beaten in 10-20 seconds.
Or if you was like me and got destroyed by the very first grunt because I kept sitting in the attack menu thinking of what to do
@DarkQuartz0 unless you............. don't?...... Heh...
@@yourknightmanny *HEH*
You can just take 5 minutes between turns if you want to hear this theme.
Team skull was a step in the right direction. They were by far the best “evil” team purely for their comedic reasons. Now that we had our fun with Team Yell and Team Skull, I want a truly diabolical and evil team, like, worse than galactic or plasma
and thats why pokemon insurgence (dark) is my favourite fan game

@@jamclone make a large organization hellbent on terrorism and genocide
I love how every Team Skull theme has the exact same opening. They have strong bonds with each other - they're all people who became the family's black sheep one way or another who decided to stick together and do some not very morally correct things to live.
That... actually explains why every Yell theme opens the same way, as well as every Star theme (Aside from the Bosses).
It wouldn't surprise me if the next antagonists were samurais.
*night slash intensifies*
We've had gangsters, pirates, ninjas, space pirates, cultists, Nazis and now ganstahs. Bout time for some samurai
MrKinglydude Don't forget the crusaders.
I always thought Team Plasma looked way too much like crusaders or "medievalish" to me...
DEUS VULT
I love Team Skull. Their music and motives are the best
JayY_FelixX lol at ghetto hawaii, and yes I love the arm swingin from the male grunts. I just beat moon yesterday morning. #TeamMoon
Well hello there Negan ;p
Don't forget the dialogue "We're not bad, we're just hard"
Cade Wilson What exactly WERE their motives? Throughout the entire game I had no idea. They felt like a really weak villain team.
They're p much just a group of people who failed the island challenge who grouped up to feel strong out of fear that they would seem weak alone
if at least one of these guys doesn't have a zubat, koffing, and skuntank i'm going to be dissapointed
one had a zubat in one of the trailers.
chaw haw haw!
nice reference
ow,right in the mystery dungeon series feels
Samson B They have bats. Everything is gonna be okay.
That dark reprise of the regular trainer battle theme from Red & Blue at 0:55 is so amazingly fitting for Team Skull.
Best team in the game. Compared to these gangsters, Yell is lame beans.
Yeah, despite being a big fan of SWSH i can agree that team yell was probably one of the only parts of the game i didn't like
@@lordmimikyu5815 that's funny I did like them...... more than team flare
@@therunningranger4297 Anything is better than Flare tbh
@@nekrosis6560 true
I laughed my ass of when they were going to 'attack' the mantine from mantine surf and they were just dancing in front of it
HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Coming back to this after the reveal of Team Yell because I feel that _nobody_ will ever be able to top Team Skull.
Sounds like Kanto trainer battle at 00:56
MY HEART STOPPED AND THE LAST 20 YEARS OF MY LIFE FLASHED BEFORE MY EYES, AS THIS MUSIC PULLED ME AWAY TO THE NEXT WORLD.
Gods they hit me right in the nostalgia.
Maybe because your trainer's from Kanto?
I hope we can Battle red or Gary and have accsess to battle frontier
actually...there is a lot of references to previous game soundtrack also in other themes...just need to hear them carefully and u can listen to them
***** and the first 3 seconds sound a lot to the gen 2 wild battle theme
Game Freak nailed with their first comical relief team
As if they didn't have Team Rocket before now...
Unironically the best "evil" grunt theme in Pokemon
Some people think that the Sun and Moon OST isn't that good. However, I disagree!
Who? this soundtrack is the best since BW
PikaPlayzHD Some people think it's okay and others think it doesn't fit too well with the region. The rest of about 90% of people think it's pretty good though.
MudKevin it fits perfectly with the region, that's the point of the ost
PikaPlayzHD I know that, I said others don't think it fits.
MudKevin well they have no clue what they're talking about :P
Team Skull grunts though... Let's see, they rhyme their sentences, they move their arms like they took lessons from Col. Vangarre from Xenoblade. They act like their tough but are not and EVERYONE in Alola knows it. I love this villanous team!
Don't forget their hilarious dialogue:
"Just because we switched places you can't recognize us?"
"Why is he waving at me? Can't he see that we're being invaded?"
"Hey! I already have self-esteem issues without you beating me!"
"But we're both named Grunt!"
Can't forget that either!
Just realized how quickly you got this uploaded. The demos been out for like five whole seconds, and you already got all these extracted and uploaded. You wasted NO time lol.
And I love the bits of r/b/y they stuck in.
Something something username ㅖ
Something something username what's r/b/y?
+L33t agent really? the first 3 pokemon games. seriously. kids these days...
"Then go right ahead, I'm no numskull. I don't fight battles I can't win"
OMG i love them
I love how one of the grunts in the lair said something like "What kinda parent names their kid grunt anyway?"
These guys are just a bunch of goofy delinquents I can't help but love. Cosplaying a Team Skull grunt would be really fun. (I'll get to show my shoulder wolf tattoo and people would never think I'm actually a medical student.)
Make sure you do the crazy hand movements they do lol
Justin English For sure! That's the best part.
Don't forget the crazy eyes from after you beat them!
Imagine having to do their weird hand gestures
It's become an inside joke in my group of friends now!
at first I was like eh this theme sucks but after listening to it a couple times I was like "yeaaaaaaah....yeaaaaah...."
Just wait till you hear the admin battle theme
I freaking love how they added some of Kanto's battle theme in this; it sounds amazing. That bit that starts at 00:55.
"I'll do anything if you pay me for it!
Like, let's see... Wanna see me get hit with Hyper Beam?"
I really did want to see that
Doesn't feel right without the ghostly swipes of black paint in the beginning of the battle.
0:55 - 1:11 is that the red/blue trainer battle theme I hear
Alcendence yeah it is :)
Alcendence yep pretty much
Hernandez Nestor What?
That they had an excess of Kanto references like we didnt had enough on Pokemon XY targeting a nostalfags audience. Thats the only thing I dislike about Pokemon Sun/Moon.
Thank you so much I've been wondering what it was from for the longest time since it kept reminding me of something x)

more like every team skull grunt
I love this team SO MUCH that i visited Po Town's Pokemon Center a lot just to donate. Poor grunts can't pay rent :( And their response to me paying them always warms my heart❤️
I've been so obsessed with Guzma's theme over the years that I forgot how much of a banger the regular grunt music is. Also low-key reminds me of Crash Bandicoot music at times.

Also this is probably my favorite track from the game I've heard so far, great job making it perfect Pokeli 👌
Never have I felt nostalgic to something that isn’t even 4 years old yet.
it is now
This game had a lot of great moments, huh?
It felt like every sidequest or non-story interaction was brimming with humor.
Pyukumuku chucking, The man who wants to see the *sun* and *moon* pokemon, The guy who talks about how the magmar in your party looks like his mom, the magmar not in your party that gives you a "quick ball", The guy dressing as a machamp to get chicks, The ditto 5, Hau trying to finish his damn question, every interaction with Team Skull... I could probably write another paragraph of this kind of stuff, there was just so much...
To people saying that modern evil teams are underwhelming & have bad motives...
Team skull took over a bus stop...

Kinda surprised you didn't quote Guzma's "Y'all are stupid!"

Yeah! It's like they're throwing in stuff from all of the games into this soundtrack!
Yeah, it really is, feels like they're taking all of the good elements of the old games, adding on to them with new ones, they just keep on getting better and better, while still holding on to the older elements
i like how older pokemon still have their original cries
Except for Pikachu, that is.
This is exactly what a grunt theme should be. Hau did they get it so right?!

Team Skull may come off as a bunch of tryhards, but at least this theme makes them feel threatening.
I love how you can put in any goofy quote and it’ll still sound like something team skill would say
I really want that Totem Pokémon theme...
It will come NOW! :D

Sun and moon is extremely underrated, in general but especially the BEATz
I can't stop laughing whenever they appear. SO DANK. I LOVE THIS GAME.

That sensual "Yeah" at the beginning is so damn good
This theme is the most savage out of all grunt themes, while team skull is just a bunch of rebelling teenagers with self esteem issues.
"Let's get Figy with it!
Watch while I Nanab me some Berries!"
I love team skull
gen7 had some of the best music in my opinion. People dislike them for the handholding and too much dialogue and I agree, but they were unique and had cool music so I don't care. I should replay them
0:08 Oh shit this is amazing.
my fav part, wish whole track was like that

Best grunt theme in the entire series?
Easily.
No question about it
Uncle Dolan nah I still prefer Rocket, Aqua/Magma, Galactic, and Plasma over this but it's still good especially the Kanto Trainer battle theme part
Plasma still gets that prize
Normal Team Plasma for b/w, or Neo Plasma from b2/w2?
At first I wasn't too sure about Team Skull, but as I played more of the game they started to grow on me. And now I've reached the point that I'm actually looking forward to fighting against them. After Team Rocket and Team Galactic, these guys might become a solid #3 or perhaps even higher...? Job well done, Game Freak =)
When I first encountered Team Skull I thought to myself "this must be a joke, Game Freak"... ... then I realized they indeed were a joke, and I absolutely adore them for it. Team Skull easily #1.
They are self aware, they know that all of their names are "Grunt"
