I used to coach at First City and have a whole string of messages to send you about arguing for getting paid for the work I put in. Frank is the definition of a narcissist. Anytime we would have coaches meetings and suggest improvements for the gym it was always shut down and then explained why his gym is so great the way it is.
Absolutely 100% a narcissist. I got that 5 min in on his video. This is why narcissists fail bc it’s everyone else’s fault. I have watched very successful people in the past destroy their entire lives because they just cannot accept any kind of feedback or a course correction and they will wreck their entire world to keep doing what they think is right.
It’s always amazing how reality eludes some people. I love an underdog story as much as the next person, but there’s no fucking way the island of misfit CF owners could ever have a shot at an acquisition. Well done, Hiller.
Ok I’m at min 23 and I’m like how in the hell did this guy keep a straight face while interviewing someone who only wants to hear himself talk while also adding NO value to the conversation = painful.
I think this is your best Video yet. It's not magic and no one is going to bail you out for your bad decisions. If you're a business owner YOU are responsible.....no one else. We all know people like Frank, it never thier fault and someone is always out to specifically get him.
Stu: At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul. Frank: Okay, a simple "wrong" would've done just fine.
I paused at 17:00 to say: Frank says “CF should put out videos every day for the coaches to learn from if they want to protect their brand” To which I say: …did he ever use CAP? (Maybe the answer is “yes” but) I heard so many Affiliate Owners at the Summit shit on CAP and it makes me sad they don’t see the value. The coaching cues are great. The CEUs you get thru CAP are sooooo worth it if this is seriously your craft. (And yes you get ‘free’ CEUs thru CAP!) There is a difference between “HQ not doing X” and “HQ providing X and you not taking full advantage of X”
Thanks for detailing out. He’s often asked what he would change and it’s gibberish. He regurgitates information and appears to have access to people who shouldn’t have spent it to correct him.
"At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul." - Everyone listening
Minute 26:06 "They have to sell it for more than it costs." Basic successful business 101 thank you Stu..."That's not true" lack of business operational success 101...Frank should never be in charge of anything.
Equality vs. Equity Every CrossFit affiliate is given the exact same thing once they affiliate. It is up to the owner on it becoming a 7 figure business or have their doors closing within the year. Every CF gym has been given the same resources and the same right to use the CF name. Full stop.
Soooo someone who poorly ran his singular gym wants to help purchase and run an international company. Who also has proven that he has no idea how to take criticism or collaborate and he wants it to run as a collective. Yep that makes sense…🤦♀️
Frank touches on the emotional side of what a lot of affiliate owners with burnout are facing. A better plan, and seeking out advice from others with expertise in what he’s hoping to achieve would help his cause. Which is a unionized front for affiliates to have more influence into CF? A more transparent picture from HQ to help growth of the brand would ease a lot of the discomfort from those running businesses. Greg admitted the games lost the brand money, but it was its largest marketing tool. It celebrated CrossFit and he admitted he hated what it had become. I still believe Matt Souza’s analogy of shaking the tree before making more decisions for the company makes a lot of sense. If those that will challenge decisions are gone, it’s easier to have buy-in. This is the year that CrossFit is going to pivot, and it will be interesting to see where it goes.
Maybe Frank should go back to basics first, like ensuring coaches arrive on time, and then worry about getting advice from others or about buying CF, or about writing 300 word replies to TH-camrs. I think the saying is "Don't throw stones in glass houses". But yes, I agree and we all know the real issues CF have at the moment. But Frank is not the "chosen one".
They do have coaching videos and cues. I think the CAP is the best thing CrossFit could have done. The box I used to coach at uses it and it gives the power back to the coaches and its guidance helps run a class. Again, that’s what Greg preached about being a successful business, if you’re good, people are going to show up, if you’re not, you’re going to fail.
That email is crazy… 😅 Again, I saw a post the other day - as a gym owner or manager we deal with member “break ups” all the time. You just have to learn & move on.
Frank's having a difficult time handling a chalk situation at the gym. Maybe he should let someone else put together a financing plan for the purchase of CrossFit.
The chalk bucket thing 🤦🏼♀️ I quit my CrossFit membership for multiple reasons but one was because the owner took away the chalk buckets because he was tired of cleaning up the chalk. He only cleaned the gym once a week 🤢 as it was and didn’t want to pay someone to come in and clean it every day. It was so disgusting
I’m so happy about this video I was tired of Frank from day 1. Every time he called into the Sevan podcast on Greg day it was awful and I felt like I was the only one who called him out.
This video should be the shining example of how you are not “negative” but rather you are honest. CrossFit is the greatest fitness medium the world has ever seen. It has changed the lives of untold numbers of people. You poking the bear from time to time is nothing more than expecting the best out of CrossFit. Stay honest 🤙
My first form of lifting I did was strongman training. Then I found CrossFit and switched. Nobody owns “strongman training” just like nobody owns powerlifting or Olympic lifting. Obviously with seminars and education there’s tangible things you get from CrossFit. CrossFit methodology will last for forever but my guess is the company will end up being like powerlifting or strongman not owned by anyone.
Frank must have never heard of the CrossFit journal lol…perfect articles and videos that you and your coaches can read/watch daily. Lots of tips and tricks available there!😅
This is quite amazing!! The WTF podcast was amazing, and this just tops it off. Sadly, struggling and burnout gym owner BLAMING CrossFit for his struggles.
There are many many gyms with coaches and affiliate owners that claim things on their websites that they are not. Reporting them to CF HQ does not seem to do anything.
I’m here to throw shade at gyms like Franks unaffiliated gyms who continue to reap benefits that only paying AFFILIATES should get. There is a gym in my neighborhood, which is HUGE and continues to do CrossFit benchmarks and call it “functional fitness” even after deaffiliating. This takes people from paying affiliates who somehow despite struggles meet the affiliation requirements.
Andrew you scared me on this one. I thought it was the one where the C4/peptides/juice and how triggered Frank got you we were going to witness a live cardiac arrest. Priceless work once again! ...... and THE PEAK OF MOUNT STUPID priceless
Okay Frank, you can’t keep your own gym afloat so let’s go into this multimillion dollar purchase together. How much are they selling it for? “Oh idk, I haven’t talked to anyone about it. Don’t even know if they’ll sell” Like come on dude. Imagine if he put this much time and energy into his gym-he’d be so profitable that he wouldn’t have anything negative to say about CrossFit. Because it’s on him to make it gym profitable, not CrossFit. This actually reminds me of the video you, Andrew, did about the gym owner who made signs and stood on the side of the road and went into grocery stores trying to get members to join. It’s not on CrossFit to get you members. And it’s definitely not on CrossFit to keep your members staying.
As per our conversation, Frank ain't the guy to drive the car. I won't even let him ride in the back. I'm a new affiliate owner that is trying to be the CEO of MY gym in my community. I have ZERO bandwidth to try and be part of a corporate takeover of a global brand. Just my take.
Hiller - First time watching one of your videos. I've seen you on other channels and think you bring a good balance of practicality, reality, and entertainment. This video is hilarious but also sad in how accurate it is. I figured Frank was grasping at straws when he reached out to me on Instagram. I have zero influence in the CrossFit space. I workout in my basement gym and follow Mayhem programming, yet he's asking for my support and opinion??? I hope he enjoyed his 15 minutes in the spotlight.
He’s kinda like Frank the Tank, but instead he’s Frank the Killdozer On a related note, maybe we could all pitch in to buy CrossFit and give it to TDC and Sevan, and then they could ask Greg to do the Greg stuff for us again 🤷♂️🤔
"Have you paid your coaches?" The answer should contain, "Yes, I paid my coaches." Frank's accusation of cowardice for allowing him to clarify any misunderstanding is telling.
Best video you’ve ever made. Stu is the man. Frank has no idea what he is doing, and that’s clear from his statements and his failing business. I would deaffiliate instantly if this guy ever ran any part of CFHQ.
Every business has to make money. Why is it so weird to think that a gym owner should be able to pay his bills, raise a family, and prepare for the future with the income generated by the gym.
I agree with everything you said with the exception of A COMPANIES STAKEHOLDERS KNOW THAT IF THEY WANT TO MAKE MONEY THEY HAVE TO INVEST INTO THE BOXS BECAUSE THE BETTER THE BOX THE BETTER THE VALUE TOU GET FROM IT. Well we normal people understand that the more you invest in your people the stronger your company will become, but corporate America goes out of there way to under staff under spend under Everything and act surprised when cutting corners doesn’t pay off. I’ve worked at companies that decided to spend an extra $200,000 a year to have a 3rd party company truck there water because they didn’t want to pay the $60k in OT for the in house drivers to do it Another warehouse job where the loaders made commissions on the value of the items loaded ( and when a item was loaded that would spike there commission by more then $100) they would ship It fedex and spend $1000’s of dollars to just make sure that A COMPANY MADE THE MONEY AND NOT THERE OWN WORKER.
So I am literally half way through this video and I can fully say that Frank created his "affiliate" cause he jumped on what he thought would be the money train of gym ownership. He simply wasn't smart enough to have someone else join in with him to help him run the business and resulted in failing. However, he thinks oh I paid a bunch of money to use a name they should help. That isn't how it works Frank. He apparently didn't understand the difference between licenses vs franchises. I do agree that maybe there should be some extra stuff that Crossfit should do with affiliates but what he is discussing or looking for is something that a franchise does and not someone who you pay for a licenses to use their name. This guy just doesn't really understand how to run a business and ultimately that is going to be the failure of it all. He will be the bad guy and the sooner he agrees that he f'd it up then the better frank will be.
Same here. I like going to my buddies CrossFit gym. He started in his garage with 3 people. Slowly built it up, in his garage until he just didn’t have enough room anymore. Now he has a legit gym and has a bunch of people that go religiously. And I’m so proud of him. But I just couldn’t justify the cost anymore. Mainly because with my work schedule I don’t get to go but once or twice a week, sometimes 3. The cost just got to high when I can only go a couple times.
$180 a month 3 times a week is approximately 13 times per month That’s less than $14 per class, even less if you go more than 3 per week If the coaching is good, that’s essentially better than personal training at most “conventional” gyms, which typically costs upwards of $150 per month for 1 hour per week. Sounds like a steal
Hear me out...... Maybe just maybe, Imagine if he put as much effort in his business, coaches and members as he does in this collective thing.... The success he might start seeing
Going back to a lot of points of things he wants from CrossFit is already provided. Especially the coaching tools & development he is mentioning (The Professional Coach).

😂 Stu is the man
1. Everyone should watch the whole podcast. It’s a treat. 2. You are a much better man than I for being able to hold your composure
Stu is the man. Watched it when it first came out. Amazing.
Stu is the best. Stu should go on the Sevan podcast.
Stu, you dominated the interview with Frank. It's amazing he got this far with his platform.
Finally the video we all wanted
I knew the founder would apprecite it
@@hillerfitpart of me kinda feels bad, seems like his business acumen is just not there. He needs a basic business management class.
Ok I’m at min 23 and I’m like how in the hell did this guy keep a straight face while interviewing someone who only wants to hear himself talk while also adding NO value to the conversation = painful.
FAFO: Franked Around and Found Out.

The DeCoons random clip gets me every time.
I paused at 17:00 to say:

"At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul." - Everyone listening
Agreeeeeeee
I do have a question for Frank...."Why are you doing that podcast from your bathroom?"
Hahaha I noticed that too! He’s even got the window cracked 😮😂😂
I was going to say the same
The first question of many I had too!
Same.
Wooley and Nicole actually held his feet to the fire on Kettlebells and Cocktails and he really couldn’t any the tough questions,
It's about time someone does this video. Thank you.
Minute 26:06 "They have to sell it for more than it costs." Basic successful business 101 thank you Stu..."That's not true" lack of business operational success 101...Frank should never be in charge of anything.
Waiting here for the novel Frank will probably write in the comments as a rebuttal.
This was worth all 42 minutes

Can’t stand when he calls in to Sevan’s show. Always interesting when people get personal against you after asking a question. 🎣
Shows their hand way too easy
Looks like Stu was being polite. He’s pretty direct in other conversations. Would be a fun collab if there was a topic you both needed to cover
Why is Frank in his bathroom doing an interview 😂😂😂
He's using the toilet 🤣🤣
I came here to ask this same question lol
The quality of Frank’s answers are similar to his chosen seat for the interview 🚽💩🧻
Soooo someone who poorly ran his singular gym wants to help purchase and run an international company. Who also has proven that he has no idea how to take criticism or collaborate and he wants it to run as a collective. Yep that makes sense…🤦♀️

This comment made me spit my water out! PRICELESS!
I'm wheezing at this, well played, sir.
Frank sounds like a man drowning in his own shortcomings and is angry that the organization is not bailing him out or making him look good.
Let’s go, Hiller serve that humble pie
The chalk bucket thing 🤦🏼♀️ I quit my CrossFit membership for multiple reasons but one was because the owner took away the chalk buckets because he was tired of cleaning up the chalk. Agreed completely. I’d listen after it was live and it was so cringeworthy.
around the 23:00min mark you said I wonder what forum he got that from. I have heard Affiliate University say that a bunch
No excuses? The email sounds like all excuses though…
😂
Feeding the engagement.
Prestige, Worldwide!
42 minutes. Well spent thank you Andrew.
Fantastic stuff man, love your content. Frank is a piece of work. This is exactly why I turned to Street Parking.
I was waiting for the “I heard a rumour” clip from The Umbrella Academy.
To see that email about all the reasons why he can’t pay his gym and coaches but drives around in a Tesla. Yeah no thanks ✌🏻
The fact that he drives a Tesla alludes to his level of intelligence
This video should be the shining example of how you are not “negative” but rather you are honest. CrossFit is the greatest fitness medium the world has ever seen. That was a well put together series of info we learned about Frank and his cause. Nicely done Hiller! And Stew too
I have had a Frank headache several times.
Way to go, Hiller. 🙌👏🏻
I just looked to see if I was on the directory for level 2 and I wasn't but should've been. Other than passing the test did I miss something?
lol. That email to a member is actually incredible. He clearly understands excellence and free markets as evidenced by that email.
There are many many gyms with coaches and affiliate owners that claim things on their websites that they are not. Reporting them to CF HQ does not seem to do anything.
8:23 Holy moly. That's a first for Hiller, no? More please.
I love bathroom zooms
What a joke he is! He’s talking out all sides of his crack. Using large words doesn’t make you smart, Frank. 🙄
What bank is giving random CrossFit gyms 50k unsecured loans at 6% interest? Frank might be dumb
Why does Frank think that a collection of poor affiliates can collect $300m+ (at break even) to purchase CF?
Why was he in his bathroom?
This cannot be real
Which part
This is fun to watch!!! I watched the original interview with Stu. I felt bad for Stu interviewing Frank.
Dude is in the bathroom. Did anyone else notice?
9:06 Agree with this, "Boo Hoo, I own a fitness venue and can't manage it. Here are my explanations"
You’re giving Frank a free “how to run a business” lesson.
Great post. I’ve been pretty critical of you in the past. Thanks
Learned this from hiller:
You don’t have to say anything, you could just answer a question.
Stu is an animal!
Hiller’s content is the best!
As per our conversation, Frank ain't the guy to drive the car. I won't even let him ride in the back. I'm a new affiliate owner that is trying to be the CEO of MY gym in my community. I have ZERO bandwidth to try and be part of a corporate takeover of a global brand. Just my take.
I feel like this man is buried ten minutes in...
My sole question out of this whole thing is why is Frank doing an interview in a bathroom?😂😂😂
That host did a great job unfolding this bs.
He’s kinda like Frank the Tank, but instead he’s Frank the Killdozer
On a related note, maybe we could all pitch in to buy CrossFit and give it to TDC and Sevan, and then they could ask Greg to do the Greg stuff for us again 🤷♂️🤔
I would love to play a game of Poker with Frank. He would no longer have to drop his pants to go to the bathroom 😂😂 Good Work Andrew 🦇
My IG comment made it to a Hiller video! 😂
"Have you paid your coaches?" The answer should contain, "Yes, I paid my coaches." Frank's accusation of cowardice for allowing him to clarify any misunderstanding is telling.
First we get sporty beth recording from her bathroom, now Frank. I will no longer trust a person who records anything in a bathroom.
Best video you’ve ever made.
Stu is the man.
Frank has no idea what he is doing, and that’s clear from his statements and his failing business.
I would deaffiliate instantly if this guy ever ran any part of CFHQ.
Kudos to Stu. That would’ve been a difficult conversation to sit through.
😂 "You said it, Frank! You!".
Dang. I am intrigued by Frank's idea. But he certainly is not the person to lead a groundswell.
My cat is called Frank. Gonna have to change his name now. Damn.
Did Frank record that podcast from a bathroom?!
Yay”oh well” twice😂, uncle!
Every business has to make money. Why is it so weird to think that a gym owner should be able to pay his bills, raise a family, and prepare for the future with the income generated by the gym.
FRANK JUST GOT BRYCED
I am terrified of Frank making Frank a name like Karen. Damn it, Frank.
My name is not Frank. So I did, indeed, like this. Excellent job per usual Mr. Hiller.
I’ve worked at companies that decided to spend an extra $200,000 a year to have a 3rd party company truck there water because they didn’t want to pay the $60k in OT for the in house drivers to do it
Another warehouse job where the loaders made commissions on the value of the items loaded ( and when a item was loaded that would spike there commission by more then $100) they would ship It fedex and spend $1000’s of dollars to just make sure that A COMPANY MADE THE MONEY AND NOT THERE OWN WORKER.
Possibly your best video yet Hiller. Brava!
Has to be the best video yet! Love the passion? 😂😂
Frank’s obsession with private equity 😂
I love doing crossfit, but I had to stop it. It got too expensive, $180 a month. When I started, the price was 80 FJB
Same here. I like going to my buddies CrossFit gym. He started in his garage with 3 people. Slowly built it up, in his garage until he just didn’t have enough room anymore. 3 times a week is approximately 13 times per month
That’s less than $14 per class, even less if you go more than 3 per week

Many gyms not just CrossFit gyms, it’s more rare at CF guns imho but some people simply shouldn’t be gym owners. They’re know it all know nothings.
Um, we still have to provide our own chalk at our gym 😅
First to watch!
"Well...that's a great Segway" Frank....it was not...a Segway at ALL
Going back to a lot of points of things he wants from CrossFit is already provided. Especially the coaching tools & development he is mentioning (The Professional Coach).
I also can’t believe he is doing that podcast or interview in a bathroom 😅
New rule. If you’re sitting on the toilet, you can say anything you want. It’s just **** talk.
