Running efficiency…I’ve been doing Wing Chun Kung Fu for 37 years and invested a lot of time on how to move for optimal power and efficiency. Whether it is kung fu, football or rugby, the biggest thing I have learnt is to initiate movement with the body, not the arms or legs. If you want to change direction, don’t think about pushing off your leg. Think about turning your body towards where you want to move. The legs will automatically adjust to support the movement of the body. I have tested this out with people trying to rugby tackle me. I’m football, look for no better example than Messi. In NFL, look at OJ Simpson highlights (yes, I know) and in rugby league, Jarryd Hayne.
