From what I understand UT has better D ends relative to their tackles so in a clod and possibility windy night RD and CK needcto bring all of their ammunition to bear on this reaaly good team . Every team is beatable but the Buckeyes team and fans need to bring it. GO BUCKS!!
Coaching at the end of the season is more difficult and is a bigger factor in winning games-when athletic talent is similar, when teams are facing unfamiliar opponents, when there is plenty of video to review and analyze.
Exactly! And like you said all those reasons are why coaching in post season is even more important along with having a good game plan.. when this is not the case it usually results in blow outs.
All opponents, all games should be treated as “they are our opponent and we’re going to get them and win!” Yes, Michigan is our rival and it’s super important to win for that reason. But there is no lesser opponent in my opinion. We need to go after every game with the same intensity and desire to win as we do for the rivalry game (otherwise, we’d be saying it’s OK to lose here & there, as long as it’s not to Michigan). When we do that, put Michigan/mentally look at Michigan, in the same group as Akron, or something, Michigan won’t be up on such a pedestal and get in the head of the players so much - it’s important to win every game. Every game you strategize, make a calls, make changes as needed, play hard and you win. With our talent, Buckeyes get the W!
Well said, How many years has it been since OSU has been this loaded??? OSU FINALLY gets a roster that’s a championship level team but now they can’t get THE COACHING to get them across the finish line??? THERE’S NO DAMN EXCUSES, I’m tired of all the EXCUSES from Ryan Day!!! He’s being paid like a championship caliber coach, hasn’t lived up to the HYPE IMO!. He’s done some really good things with the program, also some NOT SO GREAT things since he’s been the head coach. If Ryan is tired of all the bashing from the fans just GO OUT THERE and GIVE EVERYTHING YOU GOT AS A COACH, PROVE IT!!! NO TALKING ABOUT TOUGHNESS or HARDEST WORKING TEAM in the COUNTRY!!! Just coach like he’s never coached before!. I wish him luck, he’s going to NEED IT!! Go Bucks
@@terrythompson1980 players, and especially the quarterback, I think, need to be a little more free to make a snap judgment, and do something a little different in the moment, if the moment calls for it. GET IT DONE! lol I think they think they practice particular plays and that it has to go Exactly that way during the game (?) or something and they don’t know how to deviate a little off the plan (I’m still learning football in general, getting more and more knowledge each year) I don’t really know how much a player can deviate off the plan without getting in trouble. How can you be in trouble if you get a touchdown though?! IDK 🤷🏻♀️
If the timeless cliché' about the game being won or lost in the trenches is true, it make sense that you would evaluate a football coach primarily on his teams performance on the LOS, and in the case of the Buckeye's the O line in particular. Since Day's arrival the Buckeye's big guys have not been able to consistently execute running plays in zone blocking schemes, often allowing penetration into the backfield, TFLs, and the LOS often ending in the backfield as noted by Urban Meyer on BTN. The bad habits brought on by over-reliance on zone schemes have bled over to non-zone plays. The Buckeye's zone blocking run plays look like a kind of half-assed pass protection where the technique that seems to be taught is to stand-up, let the defenders under pad level, getting set back on their heels, thus surrendering leverage right after the snap of the ball. Our guys just seem to be content with shielding or getting in the way, not staying low and exploding into a defender and driving him off the ball.
@@MrRainrunner Doesn't matter. You seriously think teams like Georgia or Alabama under Nick Saban had any issues with backup offensive lineman? Hell no, because they had they're backups ready unlike Day and Frye.
The skills, talent and potential of Buckeyes and what they are is not defined by The game with TTUN. No wonder The game gets in their head - leading up to The game, there’s so much talk about getting ready for IT, then afterward, the other games are compared to The game. Mentally, it’s like making the Buckeyes and the Wolverines siamese twins that hate each other. Because the talk (all over the Internet) consistently includes one with the other. Michigan game should not be the standard from which Buckeyes are measured. So many reasons for a loss. But if we win The game, Buckeyes are doing great (no matter how we’re really doing). If we lose The game, Buckeyes are doing horrible. And that would be a false statement. Go Bucks!
I beg to differ. You are so obsessed with "TTUN" that you can't even say their name. We're Team Voldemort to y'all. And when you make "Beat Michigan" one of your goals, that is inevitably how you are defined. The Game will define you as long as you obsess over it as much as you do. Do you refer to Penn State as "TTTE," or Indiana as "TTTW?" Do you go around covering letters besides "M" with tape like obsessed dictators stuck at the mental age of 12? Didn't think so. You've set yourselves up for this for years. It's fine when your winning, but not when you lose.
40-50 years and Tim, when sticking to generic basics => almost gets it ! Congrats Tim !!! The party’s almost over and you’re starting to understand the basics of what happens at a party. Tim’s like a 21 year old Special Education student in 12th grade, finally grasping the ABC song…….you gotta be happy for him.
1:48 isn’t that the O lines object since ALL of these guys started playing football ! Like “ knock his ass off the ball “ , sound familiar ? Does it matter run sets up the pass ,or pass sets up the run ? Just win ! 9:219:23
Whatever they are paying you to say that ad at the start of the show, I’ll pay you double to never say it again. It’s playoff week dammit no one wanna hear that
I just want Chip Belly to put 2-3 Slow & Untalented TE’s on field, especially see the 5.1 Forty electric G. Scott split out on crucial Passing plays - leave those 2 stud RB’s on bench and WR’s like Inniss,Rodgers,Graham on sidelines too - don’t put pressure on Tennessee Defense
The O-line will look like shit just like they did against Michigan! So if you’re smart, you’ll take Tennessee and 7 1/2 and put some money in your pocket
Sounds like Day still wants to prove "we are tough." Sounds like he still hasn't learned from his chronic coaching mistakes. Expecting another dreadful game plan and another embarrassing loss.
You are totally wrong. He was referring to Tegra not being aggressive as a OL an getting hands on guys. Thats what he wants OL to do, fail being aggressive....
I don't care how tough your OL is when you run at the strong side of a DF shift. When you run straight at the centers ass every play. You're running inside the tackles and guards getting 15-30 yards a pop. Then abandoned it to run over a centers ass and it to blitz, and DF shifts, and try sweeps, dives. That's your problem. Not your OL toughness. Wow you abandoned your pass.
When you consistently surrender the LOS, then you are hopping to find success with lower percentage plays, relying on the Buckeye's freakish skill position players to make lemonade. Guess what, our guys aren't so freakish that they don't get gassed, even with an excellent backup rotation. The inevitable myriad of mistakes ensue and we are all left shaking our heads.
Gents, the issues with the O line have been issues for as long as Day has been there. I don't care how many we put into the NFL or win awards. Our 3 star Alabama center did not spend enough time in Day's system to be taught the timid looking bad habits we have seen with Day's teams.
The front line is about as durable and as tough as rice paper. Somewhat like the wolf and the little pigs, one of Grims fairy tales. Tennessee is going to huff and puff and blow Ohio States offensive line to the ground. Only one thing more sad and shameful than our line, and that would be Ryan Day and his lines, he spins a sad story into and excuse, and follows that up with trying to pass the buck, while losing big games.
Instead: Ryan Day applying his "Just for Men" and finalizing his list of excuses. Despite all those 5-star receivers you bring in, you're not that good. Good vs lousy B1G teams, yes. Good vs overrated Indiana and Penn State, yes. But 0 for your last 4 vs. your personal Voldemort, 2-4 in bowl games under Day, and 0 for your last 2 vs. Oregon, who is now in the B1G. In the past, you won on the field against just about everybody. Today you win in the "excuses" column and on paper. Maybe you should cover the field at the Shoe with cardboard. If this keeps winding up in my feed, I'll keep answering...

there were significant injuries to key players. Not Ryans fault.

Good intel on our kicker, heard anything about McLarty taking over, or will we see more 20 yard kicks that go sideways???

Tennessee is the Penn State of the SEC though I don’t know why everybody is worried
Don't remember Franklin taking Vanderbilt to the championship game ? Wait don't remember the state university of ohio either.
Minus the best Defensive line and running back in the nation.
Same Oline coach, different day. These choices were made 3 years ago
IF and ONLY IF Day and Kelly ALLOWS JJ, Emeka, Tate, Henderson and Q to get 10+ touches each the Buckeyes win by double digits.
Avoid turnovers!

i’m the biggest osu fan but ryan day definitely got bullied growing up 😂😂
Was he wrong tho? You need to control the line of scrimmage to win the game. He said what any coach would say
What do you expect? He doesn't have the guts to let his hair's natural color show.

Will Howard is the problem. Better hope it is not windy. He tends to make turnovers or bad plays in big games . Just saying
No runny yards
What’s with the head diapers? The line was decimated by leg injuries. Soft soft soft Ryan.
Soooooooo Day wants to prove Ohio is “tough” again?? UT will be planting that flag in the middle of the Block O!!! 😂 #smash〽️
10,000 times, "The bottom line is""!!
But I digress !
Score TD’s. Problem solved!
Ryan will figure out a way to lose the big games. He always does!

13-10. Michigan just won a natty. OSU is soft.
The ncaa is coming and I can't wait. 2.5 years of blatant CHEATING is not going to go unpunished. BET!
A year ago and with sign stealing. How many games was Harbaugh suspended?
Just another sad, pathetic OSU insider show...so triggered...so embarrassing.
What will the o-line look like? Same as it always will under cryin ryan.... Soft.
TBO, the new transfer tackle doesn't look to good. Speed ends kill him.....
