  • The Sticky Dash Fix is an effective, easy and permanent two-step, do-it-yourself Dashboard repair solution. stickydashfix.com
    Step 1. A Surface Cleaner, formulated to quickly and easily remove sticky plasticizers, dirt and debris, is applied to prepare the Dashboard surface.
    Step 2. A Surface Coating is applied which bonds to the Dashboard surface to form a thin, yet strong and flexible membrane, which after a number of light coats, effectively seals the surface.

      Thanks Martha! that's great to hear. Keep an eye on it over time - some of the Camry dashboards can be particularly bad in the areas closest to the windscreen and we recommend retaining the left-over Surface Coating in case any touch-ups are required in the future to completely overcome the defect. Best Regards, SDF.

    Thanks for your order. We are more concerned with applying the Surface Coating in direct sunlight. The curved glass sections of the windscreen can magnify direct sunlight and cause the Surface Coating to dry too quickly. The product is water-based and can be thinned with water (10-20%) to slow drying time.

    The product, not only can fix a sticky dash but if your dash is a little tired and needs a refresh, well, this product will make it look brand new, just amazing, I even had a few small hairline cracks, not that the product recommends being used to fix this but it sure did, a terrific result

    • @3dformulations383

      Thanks Kelvin, Any filler should work fine, so long as it's water-based and flexible. Put down a light coat or two before you apply the filler as this will provide a chemical resistant layer between the dashboard and the filler. You can also mix some Surface Coating with the filler to improve the flexibility, chemical resistance and compatibility of the filler.

    Purchased this a few months ago for a 2007 Camry with a black dash. My dash would get very soft if I left it out in the direct sun but not sticky or have dirt stick to it and was always easy to clean. I park inside a garage for work and home so it’s not out much in direct sunlight and heat but I live here in Miami.
    So I did this as preventative maintenance before it got worse and therefore was not easy mentally to try and fix something that really was not fully broken. Used foam brushes but they left streaky marks after 3 coats. Next day I got a roller brush. Night and day difference how easily it applies with a roller brush and absolutely no streaking. It’s a dead on match to the original trim. Fairy easy to apply but only need fairly thin coats as in some places I would see it pool like somehow it was growing pools but not in areas where paint might drain too. So there it is necessary after applying with the roller brush to smooth out the areas it was pooling.
    Very impressed with the feel and look of the finished product.
    Ya all chemical engineers did a GREAT job!!! Thanks

    I used this on my car Lexus. Ended up using 1.5 bottles of the stuff to finally get rid of the stickiness. Not sure if I just needed that may layers or if I didn't apply enough layers in a single go with the fist bottle and that allowed oil to permeate through the layers, requiring further application. When I got the 2nd bottle, I put on 3 layers over the course of 2 hours and that did the trick.

    I just saw your video on how to clean and fix the cracks in these type of dashboards. I have a Nissan Altima 2010 and throughout time, I've been seeing these cracks along the trim lines and on the passenger side. I live in a city where hot weather is very common. And usually the surface feels sticky to when I try to wipe off the dust n debris. The fibers from the cloth stick. Will this is stuff help to fill the cracks and not make the surface so sticky? I'm guessing I have to get a filler to fill in the cracks first before applying this stuff. Where can I find fillers? Sorry if I'm asking too much I just don't know much about this kind of stuff.

The micro-fiber cloth which is included in the kit can be rinsed out after being used to clean the dashboard surface and then used to wipe away any lines. Customers have also had great results using a small micro-fiber roller.

      Eli - Any flexible filler (preferably water-based) from a hardware store will work fine. Use the filler AFTER you have applied a few coats of the Surface Coating as this will provide a chemical-resistant barrier between the defective Dashboard surface and the filler. The Surface Coating is then applied over the top once the filler product has dried. By applying the Surface Coating first, you will also get a better perspective of the renewed appearance of the Dashboard and whether or not to fill any holes or scratches - we feel that sometimes filling some imperfections can draw more attention to them and "less is more".

      Thanks for your question!
      We recommend applying a few light coats first and then assess if it's worth attempting to fill any gouges, sometimes filling larger gouges can make the repair obvious, because it's difficult to match the dashboard texture. We don't recommend any particular hardware-store filler brand, so long as it's water-based and reasonably flexible. You could also try mixing the Surface Coating with a suitable filler to improve flexibility and compatibility of a filler.

    I have applied..tried to avoid brush marks. No stick upon first application which is great but it does look terrible. Lots of brush strokes all over. Is there anyway to improve this??

    • @3dformulations383
      @3dformulations383  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Ryan, There is a trouble-shooting section on the back of the instruction booklet. As per the instructions, patchiness and brush strokes can be corrected by using the flat side of the foam applicator brush to apply a light coat, over the patchy areas, using a "dabbing" motion. The foam brushes provided with The Kit are good for reaching into the areas closest to the windscreen, but can leave brush marks. It is also possible, that even after cleaning with the Surface Cleaner, there is residue left from another cleaner or past dashboard dressing or detailing product. The Surface Coating contains a nano-particle matting agent which rises to the surface to diffuse light and some contaminants such as silicone can cause the particles to disperse unevenly causing a patchy finish.

  • @EEmasigala
    @EEmasigala 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The surface is way too shiny, it's becoming a hazard to drive. How do you remove it? I've tried traditional products and it gets sticky trapping lint. It looks worse now.

    What product do you suggest when it comes to filling dashboard scratches and gouges?

    • @3dformulations383
      @3dformulations383  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We receive many requests for recommendations regarding a suitable flexible filler to fill cracks and gouges, so we decided recently to create our own. Our Flexible Filler product uses the same resin system as the Surface Coating so it is compatible, extremely flexible and provides a strong, chemical resistant barrier. But here's the kicker; it's color-matched like the Surface Coating and doesn't require sanding - once the filler is dry, rubbing alcohol can be used to "sculpt" the filler and wipe any excess product away.

    • @3dformulations383
      @3dformulations383  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are very welcome to send some pictures of your dashboard to our Product Developer, his email address is derek@3dformulations.com.au and he will give you an honest opinion of the results that you can expect in addition to any advice and tips.

    My windshield is hard to see out of sometimes from this sticky shit. My dumbass left my car w out a windshield protector when I deployed and I’m gonna buy this product. I almost died the other day and that was the last straw. Fixing this ASAP w this product

    • @vanessawright5099
      @vanessawright5099 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Francisco, I read the windshield protector would not help this manufactured defect. If all of your windows are closed, it will still get too hot inside the car. I think Toyota should back this problem and replace the dashboards. The glare is extremely dangerous. My 2008 Camry has had several recalls on it. Remember when the Toyota floor mats were getting stuck under the gas pedal. Several people lost their lives because of that defect. The company should be mandated to fix their defect.

    • @3dformulations383
      @3dformulations383  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dear M Perez,
      We have helped thousands of motorists world-wide rectify their defective dashboards - something that the vehicle manufacturers couldn't or wouldn't do.
      As stated on our website:
      "The Surface Coating is a permanent product - however, every dashboard will be in different in condition. The same applies to the various makes and models affected by the defect. The chemical reaction occurring on some dashboards can be very aggressive and over the long term, may require additional coats or touch-ups. Some areas closest to the windscreen and the instrument hood may require more coats to permanently overcome the adhesive. We recommend retaining left-over product in case touch-ups are required in the future".
      We want every customer to get a great result and are prepared to do whatever it takes to achieve this. Rather than leaving comments, please email our Product Developer derek@3dformulations.com.au with your Order# and some pictures of your dashboard and I think you'll find he'll be very pleased to re-instate your hope in the product.
      The SDF Team.
