Had this in quiz today, and my method got the correct answer but WOW was it so weird compared to the way it's explained in the textbook and videos online. this method makes way more sense!

oh my god you have no idea how much you saved me. Ive been trying to figure out how to do an opposite incline plane problem like this for my intro to physics class forever now. you are a god send my friend.

just in case this helps. if u know trig u can say the x component for the force down or up the incline is just m*g*sin(theta)

Hello, I wish to know why at 6:42 ...=12a is not ...=-12a? Isn't the force supposed to be negative since it is against the clockwise x-axis? I don't know how clear I am with my question since I'm new at this, but I'd really like to know. Thank you!

Hi, the force is on the left-side of that equation marked by "T - 75.59". Notice that in the other equation written shortly after, we do take into account the movement along the x-axis, as I wrote it as 82.83 - T.

im trying to solve the problem where there is a third mass hanging from the right side of the double inclined planed. It is connected to the other 2 masses by a pulley and the forces acting on it are the gravitational force and the tension from the rope. Can someone help? I cant find it online.

Why don't we use any y-component??

Hi Lidya, why would that be necessary?

      This is a frictionless system

THE WRONG WAY TO TEACH MECHANICS , HIS EQUATIONS ARE ALL OVER THE PLACE , YOU HAVE TO BE TIDY TO FOLLOW ALL THE STEPS . NEW STUDENTS ARE EASILY LOST WITH THIS MESS

There's no right or wrong way. I'm simply trying to compress several calculations on a single view; you're always welcome rewind and re-evaluate the calculations.
