  • For that clutch spacer that’s original to the 5/8” shaft original engine you can make one out of pipe or buy one or buy a clutch with set screws like I did! I recommend making a spacer though.
    Today I show you everything you need to know to predator swap your Coleman mini bike

    You can use the 3/4 inch shaft clutch just get some washers and on that shroud all you have to do is put it in the vice open the vice put a large socket on that spot and Dent it in and then it fits perfect and you don't have to cut it because that's a shroud for the airflow you don't really want to lose any air flow through those fins

    • @gonewronggarage4565
      @gonewronggarage4565  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s a great idea but I didn’t cut a huge hole it’s matched with the jack shaft bearing so not much airflow is lost if if any and all I did for the clutch is make a homemade spacer and it works great and I actually put a non hemi predator on it and with that one I just tightened the jack shaft bolts and it pushed up on the shroud and no cutting needed there🙂

  • @Danik2028
    @Danik2028 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    How fast does the predator make the coleman go? I can't decide whether to buy a torque converter kit for my 196cc or to just get a new predator engine.

    • @gonewronggarage4565
      @gonewronggarage4565  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well if your talking about ungoverned engines it doesn’t make a difference, both engines I had had the same top speed but the predator has more torque so the acceleration is a decent bump up but the torque converter on a 196cc will outperform the predator with the stock jack shaft

    • @Danik2028
      @Danik2028 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ay thanks. I think Ima go with the torque converter, it'll end up costing me less than a new predator anyway. Just looks like it'll be a lil more work but I think it'll be worth it.

      @gonewronggarage4565  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Danik2028 yeah I have a stage 1 predator with 18lb valve springs ungoverned and your with a torque converter without a governor will most likely pull me in a race!

    If you put an exhaust on and you keep the stock air box it will make your air to fuel ratio unbalanced also your not getting any back pressure soo that's not good for your engine

    Hey boss I have a link for the clutch.?

    • @jeron9272
      @jeron9272 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Probably too late but you have to measure the diameter of the shaft. Its either 3/4 or 5/8.
      You need an either 3/4 or 5/8 bore centrifugal clutch for #420 chain.
      www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08CN5S6TS/ref=ewc_pr_img_1?smid=AKKYKSBMN3Q90&th=1
      This has an option for 3/4 and 5/8

      @@DavidHarris-cs5hr if you don’t want to measure it you can also use your vin number. I think if the last digits are after a certain number it takes one of the sizes.
      According to this, which I found online and worked for mine.
      The factory Coleman engine's shaft size can be figured out by the last 6 digits of the VIN. Last 6 037962 and after are 5/8. Any number before that has the 3/4" shaft.
      Doesn’t hurt to measure it it’s pretty easy to take the clutch off you just take the chain off by undoing the master link with a screwdriver and hammer, then unbolting the clutch with a 10mm and a hammer.
