Todd, love your videos. I usually don’t comment. That being said, there are some issues in my regional lakes that would not apply to Texas lakes. I live in Southwest Missouri near Table Rock, Beaver Lake, and Grand lake. I am in my mid 50s and grew up fishing all of the local lakes. While fishing pressure is very high here, that is not the only issue affecting our lakes here. Our lakes do not have grass for Bass to hide in, they do however move offshore and sometimes very deep. Those deep fish are now being highly targeted since they are larger than normal, especially in the fall. I fish tournaments and know for a fact that most of these fish are being caught over 50’ deep and up to and exceeding 90’ deep. The barotrauma alone is killing those fish. I have livescope so I am aware of its ability to search out those fish. Tournament pressure in our area does not manage redistribution of the tournament catches either which collects the largest fish into the areas with the clearest water which exacerbates the problem. From a seat of the pants comparison, in my opinion there are far less fish in the lakes than 20 years ago.
I'm just wondering if livescope got banned for tournament fishing in 2025, would it actually stop people from going offshore? Now that livescope has re-eductated people some what on fish behavior would it actually change outcome of tournament results if it was banned? Just playing devil's advocate here, thinking someone would gamble out deep knowing fish are out off shore.
I AGREE..... with Todd... My personal complaint about FFS is in competition... I'd rather see guys fish by instinct or gut than by a medium of technology that's relaying info in real time..
And you have highlighted the problem that Todd just talked about. The same instinct and gut are used now with ffs as before. Your position on that is based on flawed conspiracy theories.
I will be honest, I have livescope and I am not an expert by any means. I mainly use it to find structure without having to move my boat. It helps me determine if the fish are on the point, on the side of the point, or in the ditches faster than using other forms of sonar. I have literally got more frustrated watching a fish follow my jerk or A-rig for 20 Ft then turning away from it time and time again.
I have a good friend who is a crappie guide on grand lake in Oklahoma. Just the amount of fish he takes out of the lake sometimes 3 times a day scares me a bit.. my question to you is maybe should there be something against multiple trips out for guides? Sometimes 5 people per trip. He never goes out without catching everyone’s limit. I’m sure he’s not the only one who does it
Totally agreed. I love your point about how when bass want to hide, they hide. Even in our lakes without grass, when our bass shut down they will school up in giant groups offshore and will not bite anything, or even really react to baits. It’s clear when they are in rest mode. The only downside of livescope I think is the casual anglers trying to go fish offshore without it. It’s already hard, it’s going to be next to impossible with time imo. I know if my livescope broke mid-tournament I’d likely just head to some docks and abandon my offshore stuff 😂
From my experience the guys who complain about being priced out wouldn't use it anyways. Know lots og guys who complained then brought the newest side scan and 360, and none of them ever idle around and utilize them
Todd, thanks for posting this. Finally I found somebody that pretty much feels the same way I do about this whole lab scope thing. I got a live scope last year and I have been using it lately to catch crappie and I love it. It is so much fun to watch those fish attack your cricket.
Great vid Todd! Always seem to have the same viewpoint as you. Dont have livescope and dont care. I dont fish tournaments anymore but, still competed against better electronics. And won some events! Learned alot in my 50+ yrs. on the water. Your humor had me LOL!!! THANKS SO MUCH!
I fish probably 30 to 40 hours a week but still enjoy watching it on tv. I record all the major fishing shows on Fox and the outdoor network and Todd I agree their is a big problem with the boredom factor. The smallmouth run at the end of the year will be pitiful. At one point last year at a smallmouth event they had a screen shot with 6 different anglers at one time each in their little square, they were all staring at their screens doing the exact same thing, I haven't recorded a show since that moment. If I still fished tournaments I would have to use it to be competitive! Love the new Hybrid Hunter colors! Keep the videos coming
You do realize that what you are complaining about is live tournament coverage? 10 years ago they were staring at their screens and no one had a problem. Guess what? Fishing is boring to watch. We have come accustomed to 24 hour tournament condensed into a 40 minute highlight clip so we feel like it’s an exciting event. It’s not.
I think he could do it if he really wanted to - he can afford it and he has the know-how of all the other electronics he uses. At this point, though, he has made the topic his hill to die on, and gets more views/$ on YT when he brings it up. And his thing is he wants the tournament industry to go back to a time when he could be relevant again.
@@fredlentz1411 Yet he still doesn't jump all over the "No Livescope" tournament that has been asking for commitments' from prospective participants. Touring Anglers Association or something similar. He should put up and be consistent and feed the tournaments he wants to become dominant- yet he doesn't.
@@cuivre2004 Oh I agree with ya. He says that they shouldn’t allow tournaments during the spawn, yet fishes them in his area because “that’s what’s available.” I stopped listening due to his hypocrisy and lack of credibility.
Excessive # of tournaments and delayed mortality is hurting our fisheries…plain and simple. The state fisheries should limit the number of tournaments being held on our waters.😊
I agree with all you said about LS affecting lakes, there is one thing I have wondered about and that is it must suck for non-boaters in tournaments like the opens or invitationals?
I never comment on stuff. But I feel the need here I’m 42 and I’ve grew up without electronics just pure experience and learning along the way. And now I do have livescope. Did it help me. Absolutely. But not what one would assume. It helped me learn fish behavior. But the catching part isn’t because of scope. That’s the rod and reel in my hand. And in fact live scope can be irritating because you see fish all day. Doesn’t mean they are gonna in up in the boat. But some folks think you see them and boom they just float to the top lol.
When you said FFS discussion I was headed out and then you changed to rant so I figured I hang around. I personally couldn’t care less how other people fish or if they care how I do. So FFS fatigued at this point.
Well you explained the situation best, most clearly, and most logically than anybody else. People that have FFS are for it, and most that don't have it are against it. And they should be happy that there are less people bangin the banks along side themselves. More shallow Bass. As far as cost, First gen Garmin LS is $1000. That really is not that expensive compared to the other crazy prices of boat accessories, rods/reels, lures, etc..
Seems logical to me that 1) crappie legal limits will likely need to be reduced. Some dudes go out 2x a week taking 15-25 per person every trip. That just doesn't seem sustainable. 2) For bass, I think pressure is a major issue. I've fished the same 30k acre lake for about 20 years. Despite expanding on methods / presentation, the numbers and size of the fish I catch now is much lower than in years past. I can't even remember catching more than 10 / day in the last 5 years. Even so - I'll never quit. I love fishing and will keep that going until they send me off to the old folks home
Purely for viewership concerns, fish a hybrid format. 1 day tournament, you get 4 hours of scope time, then you have to turn it off, 2 day tournament, 8 hours of scope time, and so on... Make the "scopers" fish old school at least some of the time. It would add a whole different twist to tournaments. I can't imagine why someone hasn't thought of this yet!
I agree with the points you shared. I know there is not data or any studies yet but I am concerned about the impact of livescope on crappie fisheries. Livescope seems to increase the success rate tremendously and it is just about 100% catch & keep
The npfl puts the screen up and I could watch it for hours. My favorite videos are when milliken shows his live scope on the screen. It’s not hurting are lakes. 90 percent of people that have it can’t or don’t know how to use it.
I kayak fish, and I jumped on the livescope as soon as I could. Used it for a year, that year I actually did worse then I ever did. It's too much at least in a kayak just lost enjoyment of the sport. Ended up selling mine and the person I sold it too is killing it with livescope. That's a me problem not a fishing problem. Just because it's not for me doesn't mean it's not awesome for others. I may even try it again in the future as things change technology's improve, way to use them on a kayak change. But man holding a paddle, your rod, adjusting livescope pole, and trying to fish correctly is just alot at once. Learning curve is high, takes alot of time. And I enjoy just fishing, I have accepted I don't need to be in the top 5% to have a good time.
TX bass fisherman since 1978. I own a Garmin Live set-up and love it however, I have a true 'Love/Hate" with it. I only use it as a tool to embellish my hard earned skills on the water. The happy medium?- allow it during practice to locate and study bass behavior and unplug it on competition days as to force the anglers into a sporting traditional manor of finding and catching fish. Simple. Done. Arguments over. Everyone is happy. IMO.
Hahahaha this was hilarious I laughed out loud multiple times I feel bad for you you have to deal with all those stupid comments or people you were cracking me up it’ll eventually get to a point hopefully were people will shut up if you don’t like it don’t use it if you do then use it if you don’t like to watch it then don’t 🤷
I have never used ffs personally, so I can't give an opinion with personal experience. From the outside looking in, it looks like the pros using ffs are video game fishing, meaning looking at a video screen and reacting to it like a game. All electronics before ffs helped the angler to find the fish, but ffs seems to make it a video game more than fishing. Maybe make a tournament rule to use ffs to find the fish, but after you cast, the ffs screen has to be turned off/covered until the lure is back in the boat? I agree with you TC, that ffs does not hurt the fisheries, but like you, maybe need to lower the limit of crappie. Thanks for another great video!
It seems very obvious to me. This statement doesn't cover all the haters but most. The guys that aren't catching them are just using the livescope argument to justify why they are not catching much. If livescope didn't exist then these same guys would have a different excuse as to why they are not catching what they "used to"
Do you really think the anti-FFS guys are on their soap box because they have legitimate concerns, or are they just building up their click rates? Why do you think they don't do "fishing" videos anymore?
My thing on livescope is if you are in the top two tournament trails you don’t need it . I hate watching it and will not watch it . A true top tier pro don’t need it . Everyone else I don’t care. I don’t get to fish enough to have it but if I did I would have it
First, admitting I’m a 39 year old that plays FPS games. Second, I also own Garmin Livescope and I’m really good at catching fish on it. However, I love good old fashion fishing more than scoping… With that being said, If I’m a pro, I’m using it to compete until the rules change. Until then, get over it Randy!
@@justintimeforbassI don't "assume" anything- I call it like it is. Livescope has nothing to do with "wokeness"- that is a ridiculous linkage and association.
There is no end to your tallents, not only are you a pretty good fisherman, a father, a husband, a successful You Tuber, but to start off 2024 with a bang we are getting schooled in English Grammer by Proffesor Casldine (watch ot Pete Gluszek). Another down to earth, straight talking, like or shove it show. 2024 is going to be good. Can I be your manager, I think I have some ideas for you to do a show where you sing about the Keyboard Warriors and what part of there anatomy they like looking at with live scope. Feel free to correct any spelling or grammer. I do expect any remarks on the back of multiple Hybrid Hunter packets. Oh, by the way, Great show again Todd.
The only thing ffs hurts is the fans sitting at home watching tournaments on tv the club I fish there is only a handful of full of boats that have it I win just as much if not more than they do and no I don’t have it I’m not against it I catch just as much because I don’t overthink it I fish off of instinct
Sing em a lullaby, pass out tissues, baby wipes, diapers, and any other items they need. I don’t have it, unfortunately. What ever happened to live and let live? It died. The cry babies killed it.
I just wonder how it’s going to affect the big species of fish that are in lower population numbers. Like guys snagging big paddlefish and others targeting big musky, big catfish and alligator gar with lures and bait. I read somewhere that it’s already affecting paddlefish numbers.
@@jamesbarron1202 Did not know that. if legal, go for it. Thanks for the correction. As an after thought, Do they keep the paddlefish or is it release.
I'm not against FFS & I'm not absolutely for it for tournament's though either. I don't think it should be banned , just limited to an extent. Half with & half without or something. Just to eliminate the guys that may only be able to catch them & compete because of FFS. I'm curious to see if any of the newer guys would sink without it? The one question I ask myself about FFS is, in the future when FFS is as common as side & down imaging is now. What positives will that have on fisheries & certain species populations? I can't honestly think of any. Can you or anyone else? I'm open to ideas! Without actual factual data noone knows anything all opinions. I'm sure we will have some facts eventually
Wouldn’t change the results much. All the “new” guys aren’t really that new this past year. Cifuentes had a decent career in flw and Fujita won in Japan before ffs was a thing
Do you also own a lot of stock in lotion? Livescope is the Fleshlight of fishing electronics. Go ahead and brag about getting "lucky" when you use either one- no real difference. LOL!
As a co angler I can't imagine being in the boat with a guy using FFS. How would you even go about tryin to fish a pattern when a dude is scanning constantly with FFS? Don't have it on my boat, although I've thought about purchasing one.
As a former coangler, I find thet thought preposterous. A coangler is getting leftovers and lucky fish. If the boater is livescoping/moving around, then just by odds, the coangler is in a better position to run into new fish and catch them. Or you would rather sit in one spot with a boater who’d doesn’t know what he’s doing and waste your day away l? The coangler argument never made any sense to me
Most hate it cuz they don't have it. I do not have it but I want it. When the price comes down I will get it. Till then, I will fish the way I have since I could afford sidescan...
When you go catch all of them fish, put em on ice and bring em to Henderson, tx and I'll fillet all of em and eat em all....largemouth, crappie, Kentucky's, perch, catfish, goo, let's just eat them all until they are gone😂😂😂😂
I'm going in a different direction on the FFS, I believe its changing the identity of the Bass Fans. The pre-FFS fans, their passion, mindset and thoughts towards Bass Tournaments/Anglers was petty much all the same. Post-FFS brings in new fans, fans with a different passion a different mindset, now we have a rivalry, we have good vs evil. My concern is that if the post-FFS fans wins, and that their passion their support, their attention span is weaker than the pre-FFS fans, and that the Sport of Bass Fishing will die, top tournament trails / youtubers will all fade away. Either way, I will always go fishing......
You think the new fans who think watching FFS on live is fun to watch, have a short attention span? And the old fans who think guys looking at screens is boring have more of an attention span?
Nobody likes watching people fish-they like watching people CATCH. When shows went from catch highlights to hours of just fishing-that’s when it got boring. That has nothing to do with FFS.
If you yell something loud and long enough people will start to believe it. That’s the problem, people don’t research things and just believe what they hear. I don’t have live scope but man I want it. Not to catch more fish but to help me learn bass behavior which in turn will lead to more catches. As probably like most bass heads I want to know everything I can about them in every way. By the way love the sarcasm at the end. You had me rolling but I’m sure a lot of peoples heads caught on fire. Great video.
I believe all the Tournaments are hurting the Lake more than anything i love to sight fish and i also believe it hurts to have fishing tournaments during the spawn in my opinion all spawning tournaments should be catch weigh and release it cant be good putting all that stress on spawning fish and the DNR Data is asking people who fish so they don't know im guessing crappie is taking a big toll with live scope no doubt i could care less about live scope its just pressure on pressure 😂😂so that doesn't matter it summer tournaments there is no way that all the pressure on the same lakes year after yr Texas actually does it right so it diff they actually seem to care about there lakes i know for a fact the place i fish has been going down for yrs ...i think in all honesty there are way to many tournaments on the same lakes take live scope out i hope the fisheries can handle... love your vids by the way Fish on
Typically, tournaments are won by guys who developed years of knowledge and skills finding and catching better than average size bass. FFS is fine for weekend anglers who just want to easily catch fish without having to think much, but at the professional level, there's not much that separates the men from the boys if everyone is using FFS.
Todd, great video. People just don’t get it, LS is not will not ever hurt the fish population, in my opinion. The guys keeping everything the catch may be, but really not sure if that would even hurt the fish population. Just my opinion. Congratulations on an awesome 2023 season.
Let me lay this out, I'm 55. Been fishing all my life. At stage in life that I can afford new boat, spend 1000's on gear and tackle each year. Then I spent 5 grand on it "live scope". It's cool as hell, but I don't use it as much as I use my Raptors. And that was another 5 grand. Because I LOVE FISHING in the grass & pads.... shallow water is my favorite. Am I getting rid of it. NO. The big hate on live scope is, they can't afford it... end of story. I do think it sucks to watch on TV. I don't see it going anywhere, so just let the A-Rig back in fishing tournaments, It only cost 20 bucks. It takes less skill than live scope... so I never understood why something that cost $20 is band, but something $5000 is ok. That's my only negative on it..
Livescope is the same as an MLB catcher telling the hitter what pitch is about to come, after all you still have to hit it right? And it makes an already boring tv product even that much more boring
It's this simple.livescope doesn't appeal to me. I'm not a tournament fisherman . I fish for fun .if I go fishing and don't catch any that's fine. If your fishing for a living and you need to scope to catch them then scope. It's legal, who cares. I hunt deer with a bow because I want to. I fish without livescope because I want to. Doesn't mean you have to. Lots of times you have to scope to win butyou do t have to scope to have a good day. Fish how you want, follow the laws and let's all just get along and fight pollution grass spraying etc.
I have used it quite a bit. I don't like it, not gonna use it. I like to fish "old skool". I still catch them and can still compete for the most part. I just talked to several guys at a NYD tourney yesterday, and everyone I talked to said the same thing... "I don't like it, but I have to use it to compete". My observation is that the fish have become more lure shy, even the ultra shallow fish. I have had to get more precise and creative in my conventional presentations. I will say this... I see a lot more dead fish after a tournament, even yesterday, because of fish caught really deep. I wish these guys who are catching these deep fish would spend some time learning how to fizz these fish and take better care of the fish. However, the fish will adjust as always and we will see a resurgence of some of the older anglers in the coming years when the effect of this technology hits a plateau. Then there will be the next big "advancement" and a new controversy will emerge. I pretty much agree with your take fwiw. Later👊
I Agee it's not live scope but pressure is hurting Grand lake is not even close to what it was in the 70's I have watched it go down hill in over 40 years of fishing it!
All the hottest new lures are livescoping stuff so we know it has changed tournament fishing for sure. As far as the arguments go, both sides of this dust up are making bad arguments. The "It's just another tool", the same can be said dynamite. The " It's ruining our lakes" is equally bad. Me, I can afford it I just don't want to learn how to use it and have my head buried in a screen all day. I love tournament fishing if I have to use it to compete I will.
I fish in a club, I have mapping/side scan/down imaging… I still fish. Love it, always will. I feel from what I’ve seen personally that livescope has an advantage in saving time. Example, before ffs you’d hit ten docks with a jig, whatever and move on. With ffs you can scan to see if you should throw on it or not and move on. To me it’s a time saver thing. You can cover more instead of just purely just fishing. Hopefully I explained that well enough. I can side scan to see if there’s bait fish etc and fish that area. Ffs shows you the exact area the fish are as they are always moving. That’s the real true benefit of it to me. I’m fishing the end of a point that drops off the river ledge, I’m fishing it just because I know it’s a good spot. My buddy comes up with ffs and says mister, there’s bait and fish all over where you’re sitting. Of course I knew cuz I’d caught several already. Just saying. Just a time saver to me, nothing more. A tool is all it is. Love your videos. Appreciate you taking the time to keep them going.
Couple of points. You are never going to sway either side its as polarizing as politics. And if people on both sides would realize that their efforts would be much more productive by coming together and putting pressure on parks and wildlife to introduce new habitat into the lakes and stop killing the habitat that's already there, then you would develop lakes that could have and maintain a healthy population of not only fish but baitfish as well as allowing fry more chances to survive and grow. At the end of the day the health of our lakes is what is going to determine the fish population not electronics
I learned one thing from today's video. Until you said it, I never knew you could "Rant" about topics 🤣. There are those that don't like Live scope in tournaments because they may be old school and set in their ways. some like you said are just keyboard warriors and just spew crap because they hate their life. I may not enjoy fishing behind someone as a co-angler who is using live scope, but I never much liked fishing deep for suspended fish before live scope came out. To say Live scope makes it easier for someone without talent to compete in tournaments is crap to me. Hell, if that is the case, we need to ban the Senko because lord knows if you want to get someone with no experience fishing to catch fish just give them a spinning rod and a Senko and you turn them into Bill Dance.
I really can't stand listening to people who have never used livescope bitch and cry about livescope for clicks online... R.B. has built himself a little online army and they just bounce around on everyone's channel and cry. I can go back to the old days of paper maps and flasher graphs and still catchem without a doubt I wont be as efficient but i can do it... I'd be willing to bet a lot of the people complaining on the internet has never had to fish that way.
I think the shallow water guys are just mad the open water scopers are winning. I leave the bank for the old school guys who prefer to fish that way, I prefer looking for actively feeding schools on shad around offshore structure. Live scope is a tool, just like waypoints.
facts please i give u guys some i own 2 ponds and 5 years Go i ask a dnr to help with both of them ok to make this short they ask me after about 3 months if i would let them do a test kind of thing ok pond 1. 11ac pond 2 15ac BOTH PONDS COULD NOT GROW BASS TO 8LB PLUS OK NOW BACK TO TEST pond one THEY ask me to keep bass under 14" and i give away if needed pond 2 did nothing pond one in 3 years it grew big big bass why i aak ( dnr said this u took away most small bass from going after same baits.so they grew and had enough food to grow then i ask this why do u have limits on bass ???? DNR simple we we WANT YOU GUYS TO KEEP BASS TO GROW BASS BIGGER then i asl this to dnr does it hurt to catch bass in spawning period??? DNR answer say u have a lake 50,000 ac so u have millions of bass laying eggs every year or 2 times a year yep some lay 2 times NO NO WAY ARE YOU GUYS CATCHING MILLIONS OF BASS ON BEDS WANT HAPPEN... U WANT A BIG BASS LAKE HE SAID KEEP BASS THAT IS IN 12 TO 16 INCHES AND U GET A LAKE TO GROW BIG BASS U CANT CATCH ENOUGH BASS TO HURT A LAKE THAT BIG THEN HE SAID THIS WHAT HURTS LAKES IS THE WATER QUALITY BY HUMANS DEVELOPMENT AND TRASH BEING DUMP IN OUR LAKES BUT WE HAVE LIMITS FOR A REASON PERIOD
Been basically the same to my anti LS friends. 10 years ago I would have 50-100 fish days, on the good days, but could only keep 5 in a tourney. Still fish in the lake Today I can have 50-100 fish days on a good day with LS. Still only keep 5 at tourneys. Still fish in the lake. Locally the average weights to win or even check in a tourney hasn’t changed a bit when you compare apples to apples as far as conditions and time of year. Does it help you catch ‘em yep. But not all of em cause 100 fish days would be happening every single time you hit the lake. I am getting tired of the drama around LS. Just go fish. If you don’t like it then don’t use it, hell go start a no LS circuit.
Todd I never realized fishermen were such whiners and crybabies until you shed some light on all the complaining. Is there a Transgender movement happening with fishermen I’m not aware of?
Forward facing sonar takes away from the purity of fishing and using experience and instincts to catch larger than average fish. Imagine all the events KVD won not being able to see the fish. That’s totally insane how good he was. Now, imagine how much more dominant he would have been if he also used FFS back in his glory days. He would have won even more. I have FFS and have used it to find fish but it’s not like I have to rely on it. In the highest level events I think it’s just another tool guys who need to catch fish to make a living should be able to use. For tournaments that aren’t at that level, I think it shouldn’t be used as much because it becomes a huge disadvantage for the guy who’s a great fisherman but can’t afford the latest and greatest. That sort of sucks even though I’m not in that category
Just because someone disagrees with you doesn't mean they don't "understand you" nor does it mean they need tissues to cry into. That's kind of an immature way to argue your angle and point, Todd. Keep things professional and not like BMers. It is still too early to see any effect (if any) on larger lakes. Some lakes will be able to keep ahead of the pressure, but it is obvious some smaller high pressured lakes won't. I've seen it take place after a relatively small lake in MO was put on the BassMaster top 100 list. It crashed big time due to the pressure. Livescope is just another form of pressure.
No it actually does mean they don’t understand you. And when those same people make horrible arguments based on here say and conspiracy theories, then yes, they should get tissue to cry into. Anyone who looks for something to blame is just trying to find a scapegoat for their inability to compete effectively. Far easier to blame than to take inventory on themselves. That’s just human nature. I’m sure Todd will send you some free tissue to share with Randy at your Missouri meth lab. So your lake got pressured from bassmaster and you’re blaming livescope? More blauket logic.
I am not against LiveScope at all. It looks cool, and when they actually show the screen on TV/video I think its very interesting. I am just against me paying the money for it, so I don't have it lol
Thank you for clearing up a lot of questions I personally had and wondered about. Made me feel better
Dude! That last min or so of this video had me dying! Great stuff!
Just one question...have we gone to far. ,where is the stopping point...money should not be the driving point..

I feel your pain. Same here my friend.
"That's a you problem, not a me problem" Epic!!

It’s not.
I’ve got my tissues, getting my FFS next week! I’m only crying because of the price lol
I loved this video. Made me laugh out loud!!!
😂
The rant master!!! Love it.
Literally talking about Randy Blaukat. He can't do it so he cries about it.
@@fredlentz1411exactly. He found his cult followers....
Awesomeness! Love it, spot on.
Excessive # of tournaments and delayed mortality is hurting our fisheries…plain and simple. The state fisheries should limit the number of tournaments being held on our waters.😊
Best video i have ever seen on Livescope! Everyone please forward this to RB!
Great video! You just moves to the top of Randy Blaukat's hit list. 🤣
New to your channel- man you and I would have made good roommates on the road ! The “Karen” rants would have been epic lol.
😂
I agree with all you said about LS affecting lakes, there is one thing I have wondered about and that is it must suck for non-boaters in tournaments like the opens or invitationals?
24:07 🤣🤣 That's a you problem, not a me problem lmao
I never comment on stuff. But I feel the need here
I’m 42 and I’ve grew up without electronics just pure experience and learning along the way.
It's hard for me to sympathize with guys that have 50 ...60 thousand plus boats fussing about the cost...it was easier to afford on my 94 stratos
That is the truth.
I'm with you, still rocking my 95 Skeeter 300ZX. Just repowered with a Suzuki 250SS, awesome engine.
When you said FFS discussion I was headed out and then you changed to rant so I figured I hang around. I personally couldn’t care less how other people fish or if they care how I do. So FFS fatigued at this point.
How would you explain the fact that the age of the Top 10 performers has gone from the upper 50's to the lower/mid 20's?
Lmao loved the rant. People that complain can’t afford it. I’d love to have it just haven’t made myself buy it yet. Good luck this year.
A lot of Pros have been forced into using FFS. A lot of Pros can’t compete without it.
Both true statements
Fish will probably become wary of the scope eventually and it’ll take care of itself.
I agree with the points you shared. I know there is not data or any studies yet but I am concerned about the impact of livescope on crappie fisheries. Livescope seems to increase the success rate tremendously and it is just about 100% catch & keep
Intense with common sense.
FFS Doesn't tell you where to find the fish. I have two and I still suck because I look in the wrong places.
The npfl puts the screen up and I could watch it for hours. My favorite videos are when milliken shows his live scope on the screen. It’s not hurting are lakes. 90 percent of people that have it can’t or don’t know how to use it.
Hell ill just take that nice soft scratch paper you are giving away 😂😂😂😂 Damn truck stops only carry that john wayne paper 😂😂😂
Yes I agree with the fact that forward facing sonar doesn't affect the fish population. But it does affect the poor man.
I love fishing w FFS. It's fun! Awesome for crappie as well! I just dont think it should be used for the top bass tours.
Ethically same as spot lighting deer. 🦌 I have it and quit using it.
Exactly
My thing on livescope is if you are in the top two tournament trails you don’t need it . I hate watching it and will not watch it . A true top tier pro don’t need it . Everyone else I don’t care. I don’t get to fish enough to have it but if I did I would have it
Pros don’t need a 100k boat, premium equipment, or any technology. Being pro your duty is to be cutting edge. So what’s your point?
Tell'em Todd ❤
So you’re saying you don’t care… lol. Only time will tell what the effects are going to be.
Love those 850 casts that result in a fish on every cast
First, admitting I’m a 39 year old that plays FPS games. Second, I also own Garmin Livescope and I’m really good at catching fish on it. However, I love good old fashion fishing more than scoping… With that being said, If I’m a pro, I’m using it to compete until the rules change. Until then, get over it Randy!
Woke fisherman are real! 🤷🏻♂️ easier than ever to have excuses.
I don't think "woke" means what you think it does. Just because Milliken wears a ponytail, doesn't mean he is trying to pass for a woman. ;-)
@@cuivre2004 did you just assumed someone’s gender..? 🤣😂
@@justintimeforbassI don't "assume" anything- I call it like it is. Livescope has nothing to do with "wokeness"- that is a ridiculous linkage and association.
@@cuivre2004 my original comment never mentioned about FFS… and its a JOKE
Im pretty sure bass fisherman have always been able to catch fish off shore. Just saying
BASS said viewership up 11% in 2023.👍👍👍👍👍
Not sure if I believe that
Agreed that’s all I need to say.
If they are snagging, they are not anglers. It's not the FFS, it's unethical person.
@@donyarborough4114 you do realize that’s how you fish for paddlefish and it’s legal. They’re plankton feeders.
I own stock in kleenex so let em have it Todd😂😂😂
The coangler argument never made any sense to me
It won't be long until ya'll are wearing HUD helmets and using voice controlled motors. Motor change course to 9lber at bearing 228, bet
@@muthafukajones1513 I'm saying tournament org. has already lost the old fans, and that the new fans won't be around long term...
Great video.
you are far too logical and even minded for fishing, todd 😆
I believe all the Tournaments are hurting the Lake more than anything i love to sight fish and i also believe it hurts to have fishing tournaments during the spawn in my opinion all spawning tournaments should be catch weigh and release it cant be good putting all that stress on spawning fish and the DNR Data is asking people who fish so they don't know im guessing crappie is taking a big toll with live scope no doubt i could care less about live scope its just pressure on pressure 😂😂so that doesn't matter it summer tournaments there is no way that all the pressure on the same lakes year after yr Texas actually does it right so it diff they actually seem to care about there lakes i know for a fact the place i fish has been going down for yrs ...i think in all honesty there are way to many tournaments on the same lakes take live scope out i hope the fisheries can handle... love your vids by the way Fish on
What happen to just relax, have a beer and a line in the water. Thats it..its getting out of hand with all these gadgets and who has a better setup
I have learned a lot from live scope . Not a given they will bite . Watching a fish smoke your bait you can’t beat that .
👍
Is it just me or does Todd sound like he has had a couple of drinks 🍹? I totally agree with what he’s saying but not sure it’s sober talk😊😊😊
No drinks for the last couple of weeks been getting over the flu and kids having the flu.
Rant Todd rant lol heck yeah
Todd, let’s just go fishing.
I think the shallow water guys are just mad the open water scopers are winning. I leave the bank for the old school guys who prefer to fish that way, I prefer looking for actively feeding schools on shad around offshore structure. Live scope is a tool, just like waypoints.
facts please
i give u guys some
i own 2 ponds and 5 years Go i ask a dnr to help with both of them
ok to make this short
they ask me after about 3 months if i would let them do a test kind of thing ok
pond 1.
11ac
pond 2 15ac
BOTH PONDS COULD NOT GROW BASS TO 8LB PLUS OK NOW BACK TO TEST
pond one
THEY ask me to keep bass under 14"
and i give away if needed
pond 2 did nothing
pond one in 3 years it grew big big bass why i aak
( dnr said this u took away most small bass from going after same baits.so they grew and had enough food to grow
then i ask this
why do u have limits on bass ????
DNR simple we we WANT YOU GUYS TO KEEP BASS TO GROW BASS BIGGER
then i asl this to dnr
does it hurt to catch bass in spawning period???
DNR answer
say u have a lake 50,000 ac
so u have millions of bass laying eggs every year or 2 times a year yep some lay 2 times
NO NO WAY ARE YOU GUYS CATCHING MILLIONS OF BASS ON BEDS WANT HAPPEN...
U WANT A BIG BASS LAKE HE SAID KEEP BASS THAT IS IN 12 TO 16 INCHES AND U GET A LAKE TO GROW BIG BASS
U CANT CATCH ENOUGH BASS TO HURT A LAKE THAT BIG
THEN HE SAID THIS
WHAT HURTS LAKES IS THE WATER QUALITY BY
HUMANS DEVELOPMENT AND TRASH BEING DUMP IN OUR LAKES
BUT WE HAVE LIMITS FOR A REASON PERIOD
Been basically the same to my anti LS friends.
10 years ago I would have 50-100 fish days, on the good days, but could only keep 5 in a tourney. Still fish in the lake
Today I can have 50-100 fish days on a good day with LS.
Todd
I never realized fishermen were such whiners and crybabies until you shed some light on all the complaining. Is there a Transgender movement happening with fishermen I’m not aware of?
Lots of fishermen already have man-boobs.
Love rants. Shows who the jerks in the sport and not to waste my time watching.
Lmao good video
