It really is the greatest espresso machine in the universe. I've seen it go for as low as 1850 Euros in Germany along with a 250 Euro coupon for other stuff on said web shop. Still, I chose to pay around 2000 and get it locally in Bulgaria.
@@Coffee_Kev I've had it for nearly 3 months now. You've covered pretty much everything except a tiny "extra" feature - it will show a note on the screen when its reservoir is out of water but will still proceed with pulling the shot, utilizing the water that's already in the boiler so no beans go to waste (up to 60 seconds if I recall correctly). I found it interesting that "auto off" was "off" on my particular unit straight from the factory. Something to note when it comes to upgrades - Weber's straight-walled performance Unibasket is not compatible with the Bianca's portafilter. I got a Normcore bottomless portafilter to use it with but it's still not the best fit and even though it's supposed to be "Walnut", it's vastly different to the Bianca's wood accents. I'll probably get the IMS Nanotech shower screen as well, just to scratch my itch, not that I'm experiencing any issues using the stock setup. One more thing - the Bianca is VERY heavy, especially in the nearly bomb-proof package it's shipped in. Lelit were not joking when they made the decision to put a sign that it should be carried by two people. But that made for a very memorable experience carrying it on my own from the car, up the stairs and into my apartment. Then it was an even bigger pain to get it out of the multiple packages as they're incredibly tightly packed.
Yeah I know what you mean, there are so many stunning espresso machines available, very difficult to choose, and once you have, very difficult not to have a "the grass may be greener" attitude towards the others.
@@Coffee_Kev On an unrelated note, you're a grinder guy (not like that)... Niche Duo or DF64V with lab sweet v3? I'm very interested to know your choice.
Nice video and the stainless/walnut combo is my favorite version. I really like the Bianca and the La Marzocco Linea Micra as an upgrade from my Gaggia Classic Pro. I just can't decide between the two machines. I know there's a difference between the E61 group and the integrated group that La Marzocco uses, but there are so many things to love about both machines. Do you have any hands on experience with the Micra that might help compare the two?
Good show, would you'd rate this above the new profitec 600/700 models even though they are a bit more expensive. Also what's changed between v2 and v3 Cheers keep working hard.👍😎🇬🇧
Mine arrives Friday! Was between this and the Profitec 700 which has a slightly better build but price won me over. Most sites in Canada have it for $3995 but found it for $3200. Moving up after 4 yrs with the Breville Barista Express.
@@bradhamilton5025 on-line with Consiglio’s Kitchenware. They’ve upped the price to $3794 before taxes now. Shop around but most were pretty close but some have add ons like coffee or accessories. It was a great deal! I had been comparing prices for a while. Jumped on it!
Hi kev, do you have any thoughts on the difference between the Bianca and the profitec 700 drive? I wondered if the build quality of the 700 would edge it??
This was my dream machine-. But now I'm holding it for a La Marzocco Micra. I got to practice on one a few weeks ago. I know that there was no sugar sneaked in, because i was making the espresso. But my word, the sweetest, best coffee i have ever had.
I had identified the Bianca V3 as an end game machine but got rather hung up on the usual problem with all E61's. That of heat up times. That's a hell of a chunk of steel to bring up to temp and so really does take 25-30mins to get ones daily fix. Oh and that of cost of course 😳. I do so love a good coffee, but whether I love it THAT much is what I'm mostly wrestling with. But as a positive this full chromed/walnut version is actually the ugliest in the range imho. Of the chrome, black a nd white options, the white with maple wood accents version just steals my heart every day of the week even for £100 more. It's simply drop dead gorgeous 😍. Like having a caffeine dispensing Claudia Schiffer sitting on your kitchen counter (damn that sounds good) Oh hell I think you've maybe convinced me Kev! Soooo, does anyone want to buy a kidney maybe?
@@sdb123ishI don't disbelieve you 😍. I saw an Olive wood set on Etsy recently that was sublime. Omg spend £2100 and then consider modding it! I think I/we need serious help
I've had this machine for a while now and it's the bees knees. I have to hold myself back from drowning myself in espresso everyday. It's easy to dial in any bean at any roast level. The only complaint I have that is a smallish one, I'd rather have the steam wand on the right hand side not the left and there's a sharp edge on the back of the group head pressure gauge which can take nicks out of your hand if your not careful.
@@vuho4668 I can't give you a definitive answer on that as I've never tried. I've made 4 or 5 back to back without any difference in quality. I think it would probably struggle with 15 without a break for the boiler considering the size. I wouldn't use this machine in a commercial setting I think it would hit it's limits fairly quickly and it really isn't what it was designed for.
I'm torn, it's only a minor improvement vs my 12 year old dual boiler e61... I think I'm in the "e61 is dated tech" camp now. I want something just like this, but far less wasteful on the energy front. e61 dual boiler just spews heat. If only the decent didn't look and sound so bad. And if only the Unica Pro was accessible! (price and availability)
The Bianca is beautiful but I’m assuming it hasn’t the temp stability like the Sage Dual Boiler. So do you think it’s better than the Dual Boiler in the overall espresso and latte quality?
The DB is mega, the price for the performance is epic, heat up time is mega fast, auto scheduling is ultra convenient, temp stability as you've pointed out is up there among the best. But then the Bianca build quality & overall premium quality is on a whole other level, it's way quieter, you can plumb it in and to mains and drain, you can flow profile with the LCC or manually, and yeah you can do this to a degree with the DB if you mod the water tap to use the needle valve to control flow, but it's not quite the same. Ta Kev
Not quite sure I understand what you mean, you're implying sarcasm? Unless you're just saying that I have a very daft sense of humour, in which case, most people who know me well would concur 😆
Nice review, definitely considering getting it now
Okay, I loved the commercial. I've never said that before.
The beginning of that ad was the stuff of nightmares, love the channel Kev. When are you reviewing the De'longhi Eletta Explore.
Haha, sorry, couldn't help it 😄. Eletta Explore, soon, got it.
