Brother, your channel is really good and I really appreciate it. I’d rather listen to deep dives into Church history than getting into the weeds of all the madness that’s going on in the Church and in the world right now. Keep it up!

Uh a literal video where he says "I think a lot of good comes out of a lot Catholic Charismatic communities" - avoiding the weeds of all the madness that is going on in the Church? This video is literally endorsing what many people would consider "The madness that is going on in the church"

I believe I have received a revelation about our scripture that has to do with wisdom.
And where she is within our religion , but it does not seem to contradict catholicism. This revelation has showed me through scripture. That wisdom is within the godhead. I know that the nastics are heredicks. But I also don't understand how there's no femininity within the godhead. Through my revelation.
I have found in scripture that our trinity is more of a holy family than the three amigos. Are there any apostolic sects that believe in a similar theology?Or is there no femininity within almighty God in all of the apostolic churches. Once again, through scripture, I have come to the realization that the nature of God is one God, the holy Trinity, but there has to be femininity within that nature or it wouldn't. Square with reality. Sorry, I meant to post this on the main page. Not under your comment my bad.

15:47 Also Lyons was started as a Greek colony. There were hundreds of Greek colonies throughout the Empire, including in the West. Therefore most of the people would have been Greek-speaking as well as of Greek origin, at least within the city.

1:05:00 This reminds me of the reaction to the secret Christians of Japan when they encountered Protestant missionaries from the USA after more than 250 years of Isolation. They were not able to articulate in lots of words why they thought that there was something wrong with the messages of these missionaries, but they knew something was not quite right. Does anyone know the exact story?

I appreciate St. Irenaeus' teachings. However when he claimed that Jesus was about 50 years old when he was crucified completely messed up scholars dating and giving a late date to the Book of Revelation. Know that we know Irenaeus was wrong in his history dating, we can now see as Revelation being written before 70 AD.

I've spent a lot of time listening to the arguments of sedevacantists, looking into the writings they use as sources (such as Canon Law and St. Belarmine) and they seem to make a much stronger argument than those who would defend Francis as Pope. But because there is no such situation like this one in Church history before it's very tough to make up one's mind about which atitude to take.

Hello Stephan, I have heard of the issues of this movement in the 70s or 80s, but my experience of this movement centers around the work of a number of contemporary faithful Catholic organizations that I would encourage you to check out. Renewal Ministries - Sister Ann Shields, Dr. Ralph Martin, Dr. Peter Herbeck, each with impactful youtube channels - are centered in Ann Arbor and are synonymous with this movement in much of the United States. I would encourage you to check out their work at www.renewalministries.net/. I have also had a lot of contact with the Companions of the Cross (a Canadian religious order which youtuber Fr. Mark Goring belongs to: www.youtube.com/@FrMarkGoring). Also, I am close with a number of graduates from the Franciscan University of Steubenville Ohio, run by the TOR Franciscans who have a charismatic inclination. All of these groups emphasize strong, orthodox Catechesis and have done meritorious evangelizing work. At the same time, I have the reservations with the Charismatic Movement that I discussed in the video, and I definitely have a preference for traditional expressions of piety.

Around 11:00, I brought up the Charismatic movement in order to compare it to a 2nd century heresy. I took a similar stance toward Charismatic Catholicism that St. Ireneaus took toward Montanism.

@@historiaecclesiastica You said that you think the Charismatic Catholic movement is good. 🚩 So you believe in "Baptism of the Holy Spirit"? @@angel-_-_-_ I said there is good that comes out of it, I didn't evaluate the entire movement as "good." A lot of people start to take their faith more seriously after experiencing that sort of prayer and start submitting to the authentic tradition of the Church as a result of it, which is good. For some people, it is their first experience of a form of Catholicism which genuinely takes the faith seriously and intends to give one's entire self over to God. I have reservations about the commonalities it seems, to me, to hold with 2nd century Montanism in the central importance it gives to supernatural prophetic experiences. I am in agreement with you that the term "baptism in the Holy Spirit" is not a good term or a good concept. It is a Charismatic appropriation and "rebranding" of what tradition refers to as an experience of spiritual consolation. I think is unnecessary and harmful to refer to an initial experience of consolation as a "baptism in the Holy Spirit" because this name both obscures the dignity of the Sacrament of Baptism and denigrates the Catholic tradition for not offering such a "second baptism."

@@historiaecclesiastica You consider papapyapapyappapyapyaprattaabaattaaa as "prayer"? Find me a single Catholic Charismatic leader that denounces the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Seriously, find me just one. This is the foundation of the Charismatic movement period.
Is there a lot of good that comes out of rape and murder? There are a lot of people who find religion when they are locked up in prison for rape and murder. Is there a lot of good that comes out of it? Do you have some "concerns" about murder?
If you support this stuff, it only goes to show people to stay far away from your content, as nothing should be considered reliable.
And no, I never said Baptism of the Holy Spirit is a problematic "term". Do you even know what it is?
Submitting to the "authentic tradition of the church"? Haha, every single charismatic catholic considers their papapypatpapappyap as part of the "authentic tradition of the church". Do you consider that as part of the authentic tradition? There are loads of them who claim that everyone including St Thomas Aquinas has endorsed pappaypaypaypararrrattatbaba. The fact that you endorse and support this and you only have an issue with the "term" Baptism of the Holy Spirit is, let's just say, extremely revealing. Good that you showed it here now, rather than later.
