A 200,000 mile Pontiac Vibe GT for the 25002500Roadtrip? Second car found! From Lucore Automotive

- The search continues for our other cars and drivers to join us on the 2020 25002500Roadtrip and in this video our good friend Phil is checking out his potential new ride! After searching around on AutoTrader this little slightly worn gem stuck out, a 200,000 mile 2003 Pontiac Vibe GT that almost NO ONE would expect could be cool. However, hiding in this little unassuming 4 door wagon are some secrets!
Under the hood is an almost legendary Toyota 2ZZ-GE high compression 4 cylinder motor, the same motor that powered the Celica GTS, the Toyota Matrix XRS, and various Lotus sports cars! At the time of its launch the little high revving 1.8 liter motor was one of the highest output per liter motors on the market, but almost no one would have a clue seeing this car for the first time. However once you look inside, and see a 6 speed manual transmission, then turn the key to light up the dash and spot the 8,250 RPM redline... well this little sleeper has some potential!
Now, she's not pretty or perfect by any means, but for a road trip car that could have a fun future it COULD be a great platform. That is, if it could be bought at the right price to allow repairs and upgrades to fit in the budget! Oh and, as for the end of the video, we just couldn't help ourselves but do a little Fast and Furious tribute.

You never know what fun could be had from buying a cheap car while having plenty of money left in the budget for fun parts and maintenance! Could be quite a transformation for this poor beat up Pontiac!

In 2017 I bought a 2003 AWD Vibe that only had 30,000 miles on it. As of 2021 I'm up to 72,000 miles. I love this car and I'll never get rid of it.
In December I bought a 2003 gt with 196k on it, runs perfect with no issues

Bought my 2006 vibe base in 2021 with 83k now has 297k food delivery
My mother's runs like a timex. It's not high performance , it is 37 mpg . Gotta watch it , it wants to run upwards of 90 mph .
Is it a Vibe or Vibe GT? They are COMPLETELY different animals!
@@LucoreAuto Think hers is just a regular. It's not a race car. It has a Toyota engine , still it is easy to speed in, geared high. That one being a gt should really fly .
@@walliehart5975 They are actually all pretty reliable little rides but the difference between the standard edition and the GT is HUGE. Very much excited to do a little more performance modification on this thing once the road trip is over!
@@LucoreAuto Oil pan is what im told , over fill 1 quart , or buy a baffled one . The engine is supposed to be rock solid otherwise.
@@walliehart5975 right now mission #1 is to not mess with the engine and transmission at all. Once the road trip is over though... :)
