I love how Rory says "jess wrote a book" like it was the most amazing thing ever. Because after everything Jess went through, she knew how important and meaningful and life-changing that accomplishment was for him.
This shows how Matt Czuchry is the perfect choice to play Logan, his acting here and all through the series, showing the multi dimensions of the rich sad boy…is superb.
I hate that people blame Logan for her dropping out of Yale, she made her choice and he respected it because it was her choice to make. He knows better than anyone that being force to do something sucks so he let her do what she wanted.
CritticalAngel exactly! it's just a way to show how Jess in one conversation made her think what she's doing with her life which overall makes jess the hero. but personally to me it was stupid writing as even lorelai who is rory's biggest inspiration could not convince her to go back to school. and we are expected to believe Rory was influenced by Jess? Rory was flawed like any other normal person and she was at one point going to realise her mistake but for them to show it as though Jess is the reason she's returned to school is stupid. the writers are just making way for Jess and Rory to be the end deal as it's a carbon copy of lorelai and Luke. hence how he gives her direction in the revival too. but that's the point why does Rory always need someone else to tell her what she can do with her life. is she that naive that she ALWAYS needs guidance? Logan in one episode did say she would return to school after a month as she loves school too. it's not his fault she didn't and it's not his choice either. Rory is old enough to make her own decisions and stand by them. but she's always looking to blame others for things going wrong. like grow up girl!
@@Kashish4Eijaz exactly, especially cause Logan was accepting this because he knew Rory wouldnt be like that forever, that she would want to go back to yale sooner or later, he was just giving her time and space. Meanwhile jess just came judging her and making her feel like a failure.
@@Kashish4Eijaz I agree with you. Seems like if there is another season Rory will be carrying Logan's baby and will be married to Jess. A parallel to Lorelai's life.
@@saintckay And that's lazy writing. Just like when in high school people would write "And I woke up, it had all been a dream" at the end of their English assignments and everyone thought that was so clever, but not really, not at all.
This is not Logan's shining moment but I have to say that I was glad that he did not let her place her choices and the consequences from the choices onto his shoulders because it's never Rory Gilmore that is at fault. If she sleeps with a married man for her first time and her defense is that he was her boyfriend first or she quits Yale and joins the DAR and lives with her grandparents... all the fingers should be pointing at Rory if you're assigning blame.
Agreed! It seems like at the end of season 4 (heck even before that because whenever Lorelai asserts her motherly authority Rory fights her on it) when she slept with Dean Rory’s character just went downhill from there. As with relationships, Rory just seems afraid of commitment, Dean tells her he loves her and she runs away from him, Logan wants to marry her and they can build their own lives and careers together and she rejects it. I like Rory at first but she starts to become very dislikable as the seasons go on. And then in year in a life, again she has a boyfriend but is cheating on him with Logan who’s engaged and she can’t bring herself to give Logan a reason not to go through with it and finally be with him, even the fact that she’s carrying his baby.
@@chelseabaker1994 you are right I am of the option too Rory has commitment issues. I don't know why this is not mentioned more often and why the therapist she was seeing after returning to Yale didn't address this issue. She really needs help with this and I am not sure Lorelei can help her with this...
I love how rather than storming out and leaving Rory to find her own way home he still made sure she had enough money that she’d be ok. Even though they were fighting he wasn’t going to abandon her
@@karakim4268 well Logan was a douche towards Jess tbh, and he ruined what would have just been them catching up over dinner. So I don't blame her for calling Logan out on that, we see it when they first met as well that Logan can be extremely condescending towards those he considers beneath him. Both times it was someone important to Rory. He is a great boyfriend but the lack of basic decency towards those of a different class is such a turn off
@@truffles365 Ahh please.. the only reason Logan was upset is becoase he new right away that Jess was her ex. you dont go to hang with your Ex behind your partner back.
@@truffles365 Jess was just as much of a jerk toward Logan. Not much different than how Jess treated Dean when they were dating. How is Logan supposed to feel about his girlfriends ex showing up when he was supposed to be out of town?
@@MrCr86 yeah but that's on Rory for not telling him, not Jess who came by to catch up and tell her about his book. But also how he treated Marty when they first met was pretty damn rude. It's alright to admit he was a flawed character and made his own mistakes within his and Rory's relationship. I'm not here to bash Logan but it's tiring seeing comments that make him out to be the only good person in this scenario which wouldn't have happened if he just kept his cool and didn't allow insecurity to get the better of him. And again even if he was jealous that's something he should have discussed with Rory instead of trying to start a battle of wits that Jess didn't even care to be part of.
Laura Dávila Nah, just because she didn‘t pay for it, does not mean she didn‘t work hard. Harvard, Princeton and Yale have accepted her because she was a hell of a good student and those are Ivy League Colleges. And her Grandparents had nothing to do with all these colleges accepting her. In the end of season 3 when it turned out that Lorelei can‘t pay for Yale, she was the one who said that she wants to apply for students loan even though she knew she have to pay it back. She also wanted to pay Richard all the money back after Yale before Christopher paid for Yale. Logan on the other side could have been the worst student and still would be accepted to Yale. Without any effort he had a bright future because his of his dad. His family did open a lot of doors for him. Even in Season 7 Rory applied for many jobs but didn‘t got accepted. Logan probably just had to ask his dad.
@@Grayment She didn’t pay for anything and things were handed to her period. Yes, she studied... but the amount of privilege she has is astounding (not to the extent of Logan, but still.) You can work hard and still benefit from privilege. Come revival, I DOUBT she was able to pay off the loan for Yale from her grandparents... she didn’t even have clean underwear.
Memo just to throw it out there, Richard did set her up on an interview with an admissions person at Yale. even if she was hard working (which she definitely is!), she was given an upper hand to getting accepted at these unis. also, even if rory's grades and application were astounding, she had little to no extracurriculars which makes me question how she got accepted to all 3 ivy's. paris was involved in EVERYTHING and rory not so much; at the end of the day, logan and rory are both incredibly privileged but denying it on behalf of her upbringing isn't right
"I'm being waited on by a maid, I come home and my shoes are magically shined, my clothes are magically cleaned, ironed and laid out. My bed is magically turned down. I'm in the DRA, I'm going to meetings, and teas, and cocktail parties??" You know, it's funny that she says this just a few seconds before judging Logan for living a life full of privilege too. Like??? At least Logan KNOWS he's privileged, Rory acts as if she had to work for everything when we know everything was also GIVEN to her. Rory and Lorelai act like they're above this world but are ALWAYS benefiting from it, at least Lorelai does know what it's like to work hard and to struggle. Rory doesn't, and somehow acts like she is better than this when in reality she's fucking worse for not even acknowledging that and judging/shaming other people for it. "You have opportunities everyone would kill for, including me" oh, cry me a fucking river, Rory. Like, she has THE SAME opportunities and the fact that she ended up being such a disappointment is her own fault.
@Chloe Donovan Well, she worked her way up from being a maid to running the inn because she proved to be worthy and capable. I agree that she was taken in and given a job at first, but from there being successful was her own doing--I think people worshipping the ground she walks on has a lot to do with her bubbly personality and charisma
Rory's so perfect, she can't do anything wrong so it must be Mitchum, it must be Logan, it must be Jess, it must be Dean. It's always somebody else who put Rory into these bad situations. It's never just Rory's fault.
I love that this man was able to keep up with the show fast talking. The actors that played Jess and Dean never did that. I could only imagine how thick their script was lol
I know Logan seems jerk in this scene but he was right. She can say no to party and those things nobody is forcing her and it’s not his fault she dropped Yale and joined DAR. Like please yeah Jess made her wake her up but that doesn’t mean it’s Logan’s fault. Her mom told her was a bad idea quitting Yale but seems like she only listens to Jess
I feel like Jess really was telling Rory to evaluate her choices and the company she was keeping. That’s powerful. No one every got thru to her like that. That’s why their connection was so powerful. I hate Logan, but I agree it’s not Logan’s fault. Rory made those decisions and lost her identity along the way.
Also like she never told Logan that she’s going for dinner with Jess (ex) any boyfriend would be made if his girlfriend goes on dinner with some other guy without telling him
@@auspicious93 it's just a little joke, she's telling Jess that she doesn't like Hemingway/Hemingway's writing, so Jess responds that Hemingway only has nice things to say about Rory in return. The joke is in how absurd that is (the author is dead and never knew either of them, obviously he never said anything about Rory)
Rory can't blame Logan for her own bad decisions and she called him a jerk even though she generally likes bad boys. Logan is actually right telling Rory she can do whatever she wants and he had nothing to do with her dilemma
advi86 sooo many people are completely forgetting this! They are all like "omg Jess is the best and has always been perfect for Rory" like he didn’t abandon her and then asked her to quit Yale and run away with him lmao
he was not the one to blame for her dropping out. but, he didn't know how much her dreams exactly meant to her, even if she didnt show it at all times. jess exactly knew that.
Why do people always assume that the life led by Logan is always easier than that of Jess? Is not having your freedom of choice way better than striving in life? Don't they weigh the same? To each their own struggles.
yeah, i agree. Actually people don't see the deeper meaning of Logan's decisions/character. It's not easy to have a family that doesn't show affection only expectations. It's not easy not to have money or connections (like Jess, people are commenting) but emmotionally it's hard to feel the pressure of a family that Logan does. In real life it's even more difficult than this. Emotionally many people suffer and do mistakes and childish stuff as Logan's character did. It's well portraited. It's also well portraited that Rory would have more relationship expectations with Logan, even if she feels Jess. It's Logan the one she's been more time with in the show. And she comes back to, also.
Neither of them had loving supportive families like Rory did. Lanes mom was too much pressure and expects her to be a certain way she mellowed out luckily
junahmae louise Dungog it’s the classic «people with money can’t possibly have it hard or be depressed» mindset. Like one person having a "worse" life than someone means they can’t have it bad too.
Because he does have it easier. I mean, yes, he has own struggles and I sympathize with that, but to say that his struggles are as hard as people who have had to struggle just to put food on their table is incorrect. Life is always a little bit easier when you have money and connections and can get whatever you want just because of your last name. I mean, when your options are taking over the family business (Which means having a well paying job automatically handed to you and the only downside being that you don't love job) or giving up the all the privileges he's had his whole life, that, in and of itself, is a privilege. Most people in the world don't have options like that. Again, this is not to say that doesn't have his own struggles because his family still sucks, but overall, his life is still a lot easier than most.
@@Cassandra765 I agree 100%. Of course, you can't measure pain or say that one's feelings are more significant than somebody else's, but Logan does have opportunities most people would never even dream of and the fact that he doesn't wanna take over his family's business? Fine. Don't. Just say no and live with the consequences.
What I really love about the Logan and Rory relationship was the fact that Logan pushed back, and he wasn’t a doormat, and he didn’t allow Rory to place the blame on him. BUT he was also very respectful to her, he was never a dick to her. If Logan were a dick then I would have a problem with him and their relationship, but he was never a dick to Rory. He was just very direct. Jess pushed back as well, and he wasn’t a doormat but my problem with Jess was the fact that he was a dick to Rory.
My problem with Jess was the initial Jess, in the beginning. I could never really get over how badly he treated her and how often he disrespected and left her. Once he cleaned up I didn't think that they had enough in common to maintain a long relationship. Logan knew how to handle, support, encourage and guide Rory without changing who is really is. Plus he had the resources to make sure that she did what she wanted to do. They had so much in common that they could live a long happy life together and enjoy it.
jess was never a dick to rory?? if you refer to that one scene in the party, that’s the only time jess disrespected rory, other than that, he was being a gentleman with her: Yeah, a dick to everyone else, but with HER he was being vulnerable
@@nelululuculu Where was the vulnerability? He never shared anything real with her-like that he was flunking out of high school or that he couldn’t get prom tickets. He just hopped on a bus and left without a word, even when she saw him on the bus, he still didn’t say anything. Even something as small a being attacked by a swan-he couldn’t even laugh about it with her. Instead, he left her wondering if he’d been in a fight with Dean. Where is the vulnerability that he offered her?
There are alot of clues that Logan knew Rory was " the one".. There relationship was the only one that had the scope of marriage.. Logan telling Rory that she wasn't living with the Gilmore's forever Logan telling Rory that Josh wasn't marrying the heir to the Huntzberger family There were so many hints throughout the series that Rory was suppose to end up with Logan.. You see Rory never rejected that " rich" lifestyle, she actually relished it. It made her special. I always saw Rory and Logan as a version of Emily and Richard and not Lorelei and Christopher. Rory is selfish and spoiled and her and long actually fit well together.
OK let’s get this straight Rory was not blaming Logan for her failures. She was upset that her bf was so rude to Jess and that he was mocking him especially about his work as a writer. Rory knows that despite Jess’s flaws and mistakes he was still able to publish a book. This a major accomplishment for him and it’s a sign that he’s growing up and not taking his potential for granted anymore. Which is a contrast to the life Rory was living at the moment. She was a student at Yale with a rich grandparents and numerous connections to become a journalist yet she’s still insecure enough to drop out of school and go and live with her grandparents. She felt like Logan was insulting Jess and not taking him seriously when he knows nothing about him. I get that Logan was probably jealous and upset by the fact that his girlfriend was trying to go out with her ex while he was out of town, but that still wasn’t an excuse to be rude. I think Logan just got defensive because while Rory was saying that she was living a privileged and pointless life (compared to the life Jess was living) he thought she was saying that he was the source of that toxic lifestyle she created. When he got defensive Rory couldn’t deny that all they do is party and waste time together. I know that all of Rory’s choices are all on her, but Logan’s reaction and how he treated Jess was really childish.
Say it louder for the Logan stans in the back!! Seriously so many comments trashing Rory's handling of the situation but ignoring what a dick Logan was to Jess who he'd only just met. Ridiculous lol
preach!!!! this would have been cleared up with rory and logan sat down an talked (not that i like them together, but that’s what couples do... talk) rory has never been good at relationships- she’s never really had to be. even in the revival, she can’t even communicate that she’s not interested in her “long term boyfriend” that she forgets about. she shouldn’t be with ANYONE until she learns an ounce of self awareness
@@angrykatrants I second this! And people thought Jess was bad at communication...they both were! She left him too right after he came back for her, didn't call, didn't write nothing! Yes Jess leaving was bad he should have told her, but he was going through a lot of crap, and she didn't even try to be understanding about it. I think he sabotaged his relationship with her because he wasn't used to having good things in his life, and pushed her away, but he always loved her. I agree she doesn't need to be with anyone until she learns self awareness, she has no sense of morality, she feels guilty about the way she treated Dean only after they break up, then she gets with him when he's married, just for them not to work out AGAIN, she gets with Logan when he's marrying someone else AGAIN, and cheats on her boyfriend she keeps forgetting about!! Ughh!! Rory makes me so mad sometimes!! As soon as her guys move on from her, she has to make sure they are still hung up on her! The guys were all jerks at times too though, but ughh Rory can be so irritating forreal especially in the later seasons!
Logan's got many faults and was a jerk to Jess here but I can also completely understand why! Anyone would have! Rory met an ex-boyfriend behind his back while he was out of town and didn't tell Jess she had a boyfriend either so in his understanding they were going on a date since they didn't leave things on friendly terms but very much romantic ones. Also, she doesn't introduce Jess as an ex or tells Logan in the car since he obviously had to ask for it again at the pub. It's absolutely not alright to go on a date with exes, especially when those exes think you're single when you're not and you don't tell you're partner about them. Rory was shady and Jess thought it was a date. Loga was upset about Omaha and his father's force-fed life and would have really needed Rory as an ally that night. He told Rory he thought she should go back to Yale the whole time ("I give you one month", "not you, you love school, I've seen it") - it was due to her own timing that she didn't go earlier. - for starters she had so many hours of community service to complete in 6 months that she couldn't have possibly completed that part-time with Yale, also I kinda think she actually needed some time to grow from the throwback she received and the criticism (fair enough I think she could have learned much more from the very real criticism she got from mitchum). I personally think Jess was just the last kick Rory needed (while it's actually Logan who is the last to tell her he thought she should have gone back btw - he just left her to make her own choice and Rory has been routinely terrible in making hard choices...) And just for the record - just before she met Logan (which wasn't that long before) Jess came to Yale and wanted her to quit Yale to run of to NY with him (which would have been TERRIBLE) because he had just figured out he loved her - he was incredibly selfish, immature and also jealous as soon as he sees Dean. He was a jerk to Dean much more than Logan was to him and he can't take his own medicine. So I'm sorry, while I like Jess and think he's matured and has done good for Rory since - he's not right for her anymore! She didn't wanna do anything with him because she loved Logan - that should tell you all about her preference that you need to know. He grew up into more of a brotherly role which is something she needs and which he fits into better later anyways. And tbh, his idea with the book (not book writing in general, since I think Rory is much better suited for that) about her and her mom didn't turn out right I think - I always fel it was an easy way out and put a strain on her and Lorelei's relationship for a reason (I didn't like that Lorelei let herself be pressured into allowing it in the end in fear for their relationship). So...sry rant over..but I think if anyone is acting badly in this situation it's Rory. And Jess ain't any better than Logan in this

She didn't have everything handed to her?! She worked her ass off to get into Yale it wasn't just handed to her and her grandparents gave her a LOAN which she had to pay back! Emily gave Lorelai money for Chilton with strings attached they had to attend Friday night dinners which they did do which was Lorelai's equivalent to having to pay her back. Logan got kicked out of THREE private schools, and the ONLY reason Logan is at Yale is because of his daddy's money, he didn't work his ass off to get there like Rory did it literally was handed to him. @@tobytheshih-tzu6329technically they did not have to pay the grandparents back. Her grandparents paid for her to go to school. If they didn’t she would not have gotten into Yale. She had the same opportunities as Logan she just never admitted it.
How could he not? They got into a huge fight which ended up them leaving separately and then not calling/talking for few weeks. It would be a break up for me too. Just because people don’t say the words, doesn’t make it less true.
@@ariac201 - Rory once freaked out thinking Logan had finished with her during their casual phase because he didn't call for a week when his friends were in town, and she ended up drunk and crying on her mom's bathroom floor about "What did I do wrong? Why doesn't he like me?" Then she freaked again thinking that he was dumping her because he said he needed to take a walk after that awful dinner with his family and that he'd call her tomorrow... and she was calling her mom in a panic yet again about getting dumped. This is Logan's first relationship, and Rory just had a huge fight with him where she blamed all her own choices on him, was hanging out with her ex behind his back, hurled hypocritical insults at him, and then didn't talk to him for two weeks. He has considerably more reason to believe he's been dumped than she did in either instance I mentioned before. I have sympathy for both characters during these misunderstandings because the insecurities they had in each instance were understandable and human.
okay I do think Rory is pretty selfish in this damn arc and very privileged but I think Logan was way too quick to assume that she was blaming him for her partying and drinking. She was right: she never said anything about him when she mentioned that. She could be taking responsibility for herself but Logan is too quick to assume she's blaming him for that
Honestly I am on team Jess. I mean when u look at all of Rory’s boyfriends Jess, in my opinion, grew up to be more mature. Dean dated Rory and broke up, but when he married Lindsey he was no where near ready for it because he was not over Rory, which resulted in him having an infedelity with Rory. Even still they broke up not long after. Logan was a playboy and even though when he and Rory dated, he became a slightly better person. However he was still reckless and too much of a party boy to be responsible. Even in Gilmore girls a year in a life, he was cheating on his fiancé with Rory.Jess was the only one, that after he and Rory broke up made something of himself. Jess became a writer and publisher. He became more mature as time went on. So in summary Jess was the better one to be with Rory.
I like how the moment Rory states she wasn't 'going off with Jess' all of Logan's anger started to boil away and he immediately starts to cool down. He was so worried and hurt she was going to leave him he lashed out
Everyone liking Logan here? Life is about the choices we make. Jess had no opportunities handed to him. He was driving a forklift at Walmart. He penned a short novel. Logan? Drinking and partying until his trust fund kicks in, if it hadn't already. Oh, poor Logan. Rory? Following. She , too will get money from her dead Grandmother, Trixy. So, now she is looking at options. Nobody is the bad guy here, however, without a different perspective (Jess), what would Rory do? Her Mom even has told her , it has to be her decision. My opinion is Logan here is just a jealous, spoiled ,bratty, drunk boyfriend. He has a good heart, but not here. ☮️
@@zumann874 THANKS. Logan continued this behavior into the revival. I could never understand what Rory loved about Logan. Why the writers chose to have Rory fail. The other two had their own agendas. But thanks for the acknowledgment.
Yes, to all this. I often wonder how old the Logan fans are. I see so a Many excuses on his behalf oh jeez is so hot and he didn't do anything wrong. Love this moment, Logan was 100% right here. She got a dose of reality here. Rory progressively becomes worse the more time passes and a year in the life just proves it got worse.
look, rory makes many many mistakes and should be criticised (although the hateb0ner y'all have for her is extremely dramatic and exaggerated) but logan was not right here 😂😂😂 logan is a manipulative rich boy who doesn't realise his hot/cold tendencies, his lack of responsibility, the fact that he basically verbally assaulted jess and now is like "it was just a challenge! read your hemingway!" like he's literally that playschool kid who would say "it's just a joke!" after saying something offensive lmfao.
he also chases away jess here and then goes "what are you talking about i'm not forcing you to drink or party with me!" as if he didn't just literally chase away one of her social contacts that she could do something other than drink or party with
Christopher tries to hand her money all the time. But she acts like she doesn't want to be who she is and that is a child of a rich parent. Also Logan paid Rory's rent for a year. The Gilmores and Christopher paid for Yale. The only job I remember her having while at Yale was 2 days during her spring break at a book store. But she quit as soon as Logan came home early.
i just wanna share my opinion on this fight... from what Logan knew he had a right to be concerned about jess and rory being together while he was gone but being rude to jess wasn't a nice move. rory shouldn't have gotten so mad about him always going out with his friends. im not saying that it isn't irritating but they could have discussed that and figured something out. it really wasn't logan's fault that rory dropped out of yale. logan has every right to complain about being rich and a part of a family like his because it really can suck and it wasnt his choice to be a part of that family what do you think? i like hearing other people's opinions so reply to this and say your opinion
And same goes with Rory when she had dinner with Logan and his coworkers. And by the way Logan was paying more attention to Bobbie then his own girlfriend and Rory didn't start anything with Bobbie she just sat there and watch her boyfriend drill over his coworker.
If Logan didn't like how his daddy was he could have walked away from his parents and everything else but he didn't. Every time Logan talks to his dad about his future. He ends up drinking and making an ass out of himself. He was what 23 or 24 and he still has his dad telling him what to do.
I'm not really a fan of Logan but he was right to call out Rory- she's not a baby, she's fully capable of making her own choices and it was her choice to drop out of Yale, party and drink all day, etc
Rory was going to eat with an ex Jess because her boyfriend Logan (so she thought) was out of town. That wasn't even addressed in how wrong she was for having those plans. That's why I'm happy her bratty moment of blaming Logan for his behavior was extinguished with his necessary rebuttals. Rory is selfish like her mother and Logan won't tolerate any of those ways.

And Jess ain't any better than Logan in this
@@jaelb.1351 Logan is always up set when daddy says something. Logan needs to grow a pair and stand up for himself or leave his flippin family. If Logan going to get upset every time his daddy talks to him then he needs to seek help.
Rory 100% made her own choices but let's not pretend that Logan is being a sterling influence here. Logan's right, it is his (and her) prerogative to party and drink all the time but owning up to terrible behavior does not make it any less terrible.
I have watched this series countless times. I think the actors were brilliant. This was a climactic scene for our heroin. She listens to a voice from her past and is reminded why she loved him. He comes to not brag about his accomplishments, but to thank her for inspiring him. She feels like she has accomplished something too. Logan ,on the other hand , doesn't give her this satisfaction. He wants to Party until he has to work for a living. The part that bothers me is that Rory never reveals to her Mom where she got her inspiration from. Like it was HER decision , and nobody influenced her. Although Lorelei should know she can be influenced (Mitchum). Jess was a powerful person in Rory's life and it should have been acknowledged. However, it still was a well written show and these actors portrayed the characters so well we believe they could be real people. I loved the first three seasons the best, but some of the other seasons, like this one where Jess returns brings Rory back to her roots. The Jess / Rory relationship was more positive than any other to me. Again in the revival he changes her perspective. Why cheat with Logan and not think again about Jess? Maybe she likes the comfort of not committing. She turned his proposal down , but still has a relationship with him. Puzzling. Great cast. It really doesn't end with any closure. Just another cliffhanger.
Logan was a jerk and acted really self righteous Rory finally realized what went wrong, but I felt really bad for Logan at the moment like I said Logan was being a jerk Edit: kinda heartbreaking that Logan was talking about how Rory does have all these options, and Logan doesn't his family is pushing him into a life he doesn't want. She doesn't get that Logan saying no to that life is like Juliet being disowned by her father
Logan was right about being pushed through a door. Although these rich kids seem very reckless and like they can have anything in life it's not true at all. Most of them don't get to do something as simple as choosing their major in college, they're forced to take buisness/econ, they're forced to run the family's buisness. If they want to do anything else, they're cut off and asked to move out. Everything logan said about his pre-ordained life is true, he knew once he graduated from college this fun and freedom was over for him, he would have to live like mitchum. Guys like logan lack confidence and are made to believe they can't do anything in life without their parents money and that's why they don't leave everything and go like most people suggest him to. I mean they even criticised rory, anything he chooses is apparently wrong, another reason to why guys like logan don't commit, they're scared of their families.
He could have changed that but her didn't. He could have stood up to his dad and walk out of that life but her didn't. I dont feel sorry for Logan at all like you all do. He made a choice and he dodnt do anything about it.
Logan is a buffoon. “I don’t want that life; it’s forced on me.” Well... Lorelai had a background with a high society stay-at-home-mother role looming over her head, but she was able to break free from it. Why can’t he?
@C D she didn't run away to escape judgement lmfao did you even watch the show?! She ran away because just like with Logan, her parents were making decisions on her behalf all her life. Even when she became pregnant and decided to keep the baby Richard and Christopher's dad decided without consulting either of them that they are to get married and Christopher would work for Richard. THAT is what she ran away from and left her financial privilege behind, all whilst 16 years old with minimal education. This is why people compare the situation with Logan, it's just he doesn't have the balls to just up and leave because he enjoys his privilege too much. He has the education and connections via friends who would likely not disassociate from him even if he did decide to leave so it just makes him look like a whiny baby when he goes on about his struggles.
everyone keeps saying that rory was trying to blame logan and play the victim card but i dont think so..i think she just realized at that time that she was wasting her time and was venting it to him
I'm not sure why people keep saying "Logan is not at the fault here" cause no one said he was?? He brought it up out of nowhere when rory was just chastising herself on doing nothing but partying. He just ended up making her questioning her life about himself smhw. Also the "i have no choice im forced to go with what my parents want to" or smth similar he said. I don't get that part like he never showed any kind of passion to anything except partying and having fun so what is the point like?? Never seen him to say "i don't wanna do what my parents want me to my actual dream was that bla bla bla" and he smhw has the audiacity to try to mock with Jess like he did with Marty for literally no reason. He's just giving me typical wattpad rich boy hence might explain the "we used to make fun of guys like this" Idk maybe he'll change im still at this episode but im so annoyed at him for now
I love the fact that Logan is always whining about not having choices in his life and being pushed over by his family when he could simply renounce the money and do what Lorelai did when Rory was born and cut his ties with his family which he obviously is not that fond of and live a simple life working a simple job fighting for what he wants to do, but in reality, the only thing he is passionate about is drinking and partying.
@@zumann874 or logan still had hope that he would be able to work out his problem with mitchum. Lorelai left because she had more than herself to worry about
Rory should’ve taken responsibility for her own choices and failures. However, Logan was so unbelievably obnoxious and rude in this episode. He had no right to treat Jess the way he did and Rory was 100% right to call him out on it. I actually wish she would’ve been harder on him than she was. I’ll never know what fans saw in Logan. He was the worst. At least Jess matured and succeeded in life. Even in the revival, Logan remained a spoiled rich kid treating people like dirt while Jess had his life together. Although in the revival Rory was one of the worst characters ever so I guess she deserved Logan at that point.
Logan and Jess were both jerks to one another so why is it made out like Jess was the victim here? I'm sure it was logan that held his hand out to greet him. Jess didn't even have the decency to greet properly. He was extremely judgemental because Logan was rich. That's the one thing I find so annoying about Jess and rory. They think it's ok to judge the rich kids but play victim when someone judges them. Remember when Colin was a jerk to Marty when they first introduced? That's exactly what rory Jess and even lorelai did to rich kids.. judging them on the money they had. So wrong.
@@ryerye6587 I gave an example of how Jess was being rude and a jerk because all the Jess fans do are make it out as though logan was the only one being a complete jerk when in fact it was both. So what is stupid is treating Jess like a victim. He was just as bad.
@@ryerye6587 you can continue to act like you didn't get my point if you want as it just shows your immaturity not mine. Overall his behaviour and attitude proved what a jerk he was. Well you are not alone because he's really sound cool. Nice coordinated sentences, good rhythms, good gestures with that face that chin that hair. Well hm
tbh to me rory is talking for herself but also for jess here. Everyone is defending logan but literally the dont freak out have a drink is not that good of comfort. And yes its rorys fault leaving yale but logan since day one is so arrogant over people who have to work and try for things in their life, jess, marty etc.
Uhh I love this bc in a way I agree with logan and I understand that his life and career is forced on him. I also love the fact that rory seems to want to be blamed, it sounds like she wants logan to held her accountable the same way jess did, she's looking for the same words, they never came tho. Obviously Logan can't get it and takes it personally. this is good writing my god.
Not really blaming logan here but she wasn't implying that it was his fault, but you know, when you fight things are said and the whole arguement drifted and she clearly had some resentment over his life choices so
Same here. If he cried to me about his daddy thing me to grow up. I would tell him to grow a pair and do something about it. I wouldn't put up with his whinny ass.

Am i the only one who notice when Jess and Logan are arguing Logan walks out on Rory. But when Rory goes to dinner with Logan and his colleges. Logan is paying attention to Bobbie and not his girlfriend. Did Rory started an augment with Bobbie or walks out no she didnt.
Interesting in this episode I was rooting on Jess and Logan on yelling at Rory. I was saying “YES! THANK YOU.” On Jess on “why drop out of Yale” and Logan telling her that shouldn’t put him to blame but more like you shouldn’t blame others on their faults but they made that decision not them.
And somehow after this Logan decided they were broken up without telling Rory, slept a bunch of his sister’s friends and god knows who else because he never talks about it. Then he gaslights Rory into thinking it was all an honest mistake, the girls he slept him were the villains, and he deserves a second chance. I don’t like this couple on my second rewatch 🥲 she doesn’t realize how bad he is for her. She agrees to anything and everything to be with him. He only starts to really appreciate her in s7.
I feel like this episode really tried to make us hate Logan.. First giving him a random drinking problem, and then making him out to be a jerk to Jess. But oh no, I see right through that! Let's not ignore princess Rory gaslighting Logan and acting like his life is perfect when he has been forced into doing things he doesn't want to do. She can't pull the he's rich card either, since she's been living with her rich grandparents. And the fact that she invited her ex lover (who last told her her loved her and wanted to run away with her) into her bedroom and then planned a night date is soooo soo wrong. But then again, she has no problem cheating and sleeping with married men.
I agree that logan was a jerk to jess but....if u come back early and see ur gf/bf hanging around with her ex...u defiantly would be jealous and angry. But I hate rory for blaming logan....I m logan tried to convince her to go back to collage but she did not listen...atleast he did not shout on her and made her feel she is a failure...he respected her dicsion and her knew already why she needed the time off.
You know Rory talks to Logan everyday. I'm sure she didn't tell him she was having dinner with Jess. Just like she didn't tell him Marty pretended not to know her. And when Logan finds out Rory pretends it was just a misunderstanding.
All the people said that Logan was let her take her own desition but the only thing I see is that he don't care what rory choice if was with him, because is suppose that a person that love you a care about you tell you when you are doing a mess of you life, because they know know you, Logan don't care he just assume that rory will be on track magically for her own, hello world on real life when you are drowning on your problems you need a little wake up call someone to tell you that something is wrong (Jess don't take the decision to Rory came back to Yale, but he said what was wrong because he knew something was bad) and Logan you live with all the stuff without said anything because was comfortable with rory (he don't care what was happening with her) and yeah Rory said that she just was partying and doing nothing ok that is rory fault but if Logan knew her he could said something about have to deal of if she was OK (not just assume) yeah he like party so he don't have a problem with rory doing the same but he has to knew something was off because rory wasn't that way (if he want to changer or just throng her life because he want to believe she will figured out eventually)
HI! Do you remember last time Jess showep up? He was saying lets go ... leave Yale. .. Just writers want to do something special with character... but everyone knows Rory even Logan (remember why Logan didnt start something with Rory) ... Rory at this point was tired about her relation with grandma and Jess just said something that she didnt want to recognize. .. but Lorelai did, París did even Logan did ... just Jess'moment glory by writers thats all
@Bendita vanidad Very well said!!! I agree 100 %... I really hate when people write that Jess is perfect for her because of this Yale moment (and they all forget about the incident where Jess forced himself on her)...like really people??? He gave her a good advice - yes! But you have to be delusional to think that Rory went back to Yale only because of saint Jess! It was just a matter of time for her to get things right and let's say that Jess had a good timing- but that doesn't make him perfect for her...
Actually, all of you Jess shippers piss me off. He was so toxic for her, maybe because he was young and had bad childhood but still super bad boyfriend. You completely ignore everything bad he did and praise him. Logan, has flaws but HE IS the balance Rory needed. You COMPLETELY ignored the fact that he did tell her she is making mistake and that she loves school and will come back in a month. It was her decision to do otherwise and everyone is blaming him, like she is not an adult with her own opinion. He was supportive and respectful of her decisions because he was also brought up in household with high expectations and knows what it’s like to be pressured and didn’t want to do the same to the person he loved (which is realistic and admirable quality in a boyfriend). A lot of college kids take a gap year to figure things out, he did, most of his friends did and they all got back to school. Yes, he is privileged but so is she, at least he is not being a hypocrite about it. I’m tired of all of you people putting Rory as a saint. The fact that not even Lorelai (which is the most important person in her life) was able to convince her to go back means it was Rory’s stubborn decision. The only reason why Jess has “gotten through” her is because he is basically a third party, both Lorelai and Logan are too involved in her life for her to listen. Writers wanted Jess to be the end game and needed a story to follow but all they did is made Rory person without her own opinion that needs somebody else to tell her what to do. And Logan is the only one in her life that actually let her do what she wanted to do and make her learn from it...
They were both WAYYYY out of line. Nobody was forcing Rory to quit and she could've worked hard for her dreams like Mitchum and pretty much anyone else. Same goes for Logan. If he really hated his "life" he could've had dreams and aspirations and worked hard to achieve them. But what they both really wanted was just to pretend like they weren't trust fund kids but still enjoy the benefits of endless wealth and status. I didn't sense any passion or eagerness from either of them in making a name for themselves. They were only passionate about complaining and wishing things were different. I mean I understand the struggle of nobody respecting you because you use your parent's money, but they could've expanded the business or at least done charity or something. And if not that, just admit your rich and enjoy life. I really don't get this mentality of hating everything and being negative. If these people are complaining what should a homeless person do?? Kill themselves?? It doesn't make sense. If they are both truly uncomfortable with being "born into wealth" and have some kind of "guilt" then just get an office job, make an average salary, and call it day!! There's absolutely nothing wrong with Rory using her maid because that's her JOB and she's employed to do so.
@@london4345 I definitely see your point though I agree with that too though, I was just adding that Dean still would have yelled at her too like this! Jess didn't even yell at Rory for hanging out with Dean, he simply asked her, and just wanted her to be honest with him, and let him know about it. Yeah Logan yelling at her like this was bad. She had been crushed by his dad, she had goals, and ambitions, and his dad discouraged her, and he just let his dad discourage her, didn't do anything about it, and was encouraging her to keep partying and drinking, when she actually did want to do something for herself, then he starts yelling at her in public, and leaves her there. She was in the wrong for not telling him she was with Jess, but she was mad because mocked his talent, and ambitions, because she knew what it took for him to achieve that, and how hard he worked to getting there.

Lorelai turned down his offer of the family lawyer with boat thing. Why didnt she let Rory decide I didn't see Logan doing community service 😂
“It’s not as easy when it’s not handed to you”, says the girl that didn’t pay for Yale... or anything really

Yes, she studied... but the amount of privilege she has is astounding (not to the extent of Logan, but still.) THANK YOU!
Memo just to throw it out there, Richard did set her up on an interview with an admissions person at Yale. even if she was hard working (which she definitely is!), she was given an upper hand to getting accepted at these unis. also, even if rory's grades and application were astounding, she had little to no extracurriculars which makes me question how she got accepted to all 3 ivy's. paris was involved in EVERYTHING and rory not so much; at the end of the day, logan and rory are both incredibly privileged but denying it on behalf of her upbringing isn't right
Wow Rory is so selfish. Logan has been very understanding of her struggles, but she MOCKS him for his? Nah girl.

Didn’t Rory inherit 250,000 from her great grand ma???? I mean... that opens a lot of doors

Like please yeah Jess made her wake her up but that doesn’t mean it’s Logan’s fault. Her mom told her was a bad idea quitting Yale but seems like she only listens to Jess
That's why Jess is the one for her! 💕

I love Logan. he is one and only character I love in Gilmore Girls.
"Be a doctor, be a clown!"
Rory can't blame Logan for her own bad decisions and she called him a jerk even though she generally likes bad boys. Logan is actually right telling Rory she can do whatever she wants and he had nothing to do with her dilemma
kind of significant that Jess was the one who made Rory wake up
Yes, like a good friend he is.
yeah finally the guy did something right. all i have seen with him was abandonment and a-lot of anger issues.

Ohh saint Jess... for me is very significant when he tried to force himself on her at that party or when he first told her to leave Yale!
advi86 sooo many people are completely forgetting this! They are all like "omg Jess is the best and has always been perfect for Rory" like he didn’t abandon her and then asked her to quit Yale and run away with him lmao
I will side with Logan on Rory trying to blame him for dropping out of Yale. He was just being supportive with her decision.
he was not the one to blame for her dropping out. but, he didn't know how much her dreams exactly meant to her, even if she didnt show it at all times. jess exactly knew that.
The People forgets that jess just asked Rory to drop out of Yale, leave everything behind, and just run away with him without any future plans
"you're not living with the Gilmores forever" had me butterflies
What I really love about the Logan and Rory relationship was the fact that Logan pushed back, and he wasn’t a doormat, and he didn’t allow Rory to place the blame on him. BUT he was also very respectful to her, he was never a dick to her. If Logan were a dick then I would have a problem with him and their relationship, but he was never a dick to Rory. He was just very direct.
Jess pushed back as well, and he wasn’t a doormat but my problem with Jess was the fact that he was a dick to Rory.
PERIODT. could not have said it better
Welp this gave me perspective!
jess was never a dick to rory?? if you refer to that one scene in the party, that’s the only time jess disrespected rory, other than that, he was being a gentleman with her: Yeah, a dick to everyone else, but with HER he was being vulnerable
Where is the vulnerability that he offered her?
i like how they’re just yelling and fighting in the middle of the restaurant
There are alot of clues that Logan knew Rory was " the one".. There relationship was the only one that had the scope of marriage..
Logan telling Rory that she wasn't living with the Gilmore's forever
Logan telling Rory that Josh wasn't marrying the heir to the Huntzberger family
There were so many hints throughout the series that Rory was suppose to end up with Logan..
I personally think Jess was just the last kick Rory needed (while it's actually Logan who is the last to tell her he thought she should have gone back btw - he just left her to make her own choice and Rory has been routinely terrible in making hard choices...)
And just for the record - just before she met Logan (which wasn't that long before) Jess came to Yale and wanted her to quit Yale to run of to NY with him (which would have been TERRIBLE) because he had just figured out he loved her - he was incredibly selfish, immature and also jealous as soon as he sees Dean.
And Jess ain't any better than Logan in this
@@jaelb.1351 JESS IS BETTER THAN LOGAN IN THIS SITUATION. ARGUE WITH A FCKING WALL. Then she freaked again thinking that he was dumping her because he said he needed to take a walk after that awful dinner with his family and that he'd call her tomorrow... and she was calling her mom in a panic yet again about getting dumped.
This is Logan's first relationship, and Rory just had a huge fight with him where she blamed all her own choices on him, was hanging out with her ex behind his back, hurled hypocritical insults at him, and then didn't talk to him for two weeks.
He was so worried and hurt she was going to leave him he lashed out

from what Logan knew he had a right to be concerned about jess and rory being together while he was gone but being rude to jess wasn't a nice move. rory shouldn't have gotten so mad about him always going out with his friends. im not saying that it isn't irritating but they could have discussed that and figured something out. it really wasn't logan's fault that rory dropped out of yale. logan has every right to complain about being rich and a part of a family like his because it really can suck and it wasnt his choice to be a part of that family
what do you think? i like hearing other people's opinions so reply to this and say your opinion
And Rory has the right to call out Logan too. Asking what he is doing about his dad telling him what to do. He isn't doing anything

And Jess ain't any better than Logan in this
And Logan flirted with his coworker when Rory had dinner with them. What's your point.
Logan know that Jess is 3 level abowe him.... He was jelaous...
Logan was a jerk and acted really self righteous Rory finally realized what went wrong, but I felt really bad for Logan at the moment like I said Logan was being a jerk
Edit: kinda heartbreaking that Logan was talking about how Rory does have all these options, and Logan doesn't his family is pushing him into a life he doesn't want. She doesn't get that Logan saying no to that life is like Juliet being disowned by her father
Which episode??
@C D SHE HATED THAT LIFE AND THATS WHY SHE RAN
So true
This episode revealed Logan’s resemblance to his father “if Hemmingway could take it, so could he”. 😆 Logan’s so cool in this episode tho seriously
she has no right to be blaming him. you were the one who dropped out tf
Where did she blame him. She said herself and he assumes it's about him. And yes I watched the show and the scene.
everyone keeps saying that rory was trying to blame logan and play the victim card but i dont think so..i think she just realized at that time that she was wasting her time and was venting it to him

She really is lol
I mean she is the main character of the drama tv series
And Logan was wasn't. Lmfao
You know I was watching the Resident and this actor still acts the same. It's like Logan just went to med school and became a doctor hahahaha
He's just giving me typical wattpad rich boy hence might explain the "we used to make fun of guys like this" Idk maybe he'll change im still at this episode but im so annoyed at him for now
Cause Logan fans don't see it that way and wants to blame everything on Rory.

Sorry I don't agree with you.
So wrong.
Goodness, so you only noticed who reached the hand first. That is so stupid
@@ryerye6587 I gave an example of how Jess was being rude and a jerk because all the Jess fans do are make it out as though logan was the only one being a complete jerk when in fact it was both. So what is stupid is treating Jess like a victim. He was just as bad.

Why are you being so difficult Logan?
They Logan drinking doesn't solve anything

@@benditavanidad377 yes, true

Jealous much?
