Thank you very much for all your videos. I plan to use your track layout for my next project. I like your using foam to keep things light for modular railroading. This way you can use an extra turnout at each end with some flex track and bolt another module to this one and extend the layout. I'm sure glad you posted your progress from the bench work to actually making the module with the two tunnels using foam to keep things light. Once again, thank you for posting these great ideas.
A very nice video, thank you for sharing. I also plan on using Woodland Scenics risers and foam on my layout, but was racking my brain trying to figure out how to build a tunnel on an incline (which my layout will have).
Well thought out and considerate recordings of your process with your project. It is always valuable to hear/see mistakes and solutions as was with pre-weathering the track.
When railway building we often forget to us our "square tool" or as I call it the "L square" as compared to the "T square"... it's only after you say... I should have noticed that.. But all is good because modelling and being VERY GOOD AT IT learning and experience. Thanks for the video and I look forward to seeing more
I have to do an inclined tunnel too, very informative, nice video! Going to sub for more of this. Happy to have stumbled upon your channel. Cheers AHJ.
That is truly clever! I WILL remember that trick. I've been in the Hobby for over four decades (!!!). However, that never stops me learning new things. That advice is what I give to everyone! The bloke that says he knows everything - surely doesn't!! The only thing I would add is, did you make sure that your longest cars and locos navigate those tunnels without rubbing against anything? Well done! Carmine 🚂
when I had that layout sometime ago, I was only running short cars so I had no problems. Long cars and steam locos would not have made it through those tunnels
Hi. My wife and I are just getting into rail modeling for the first time as part of our retirement plan 😎 and our first layout will have an extensive tunnel to give that illusion that it is not a circular track. We are very much in the information gathering stage at the moment and this is very useful, thanks. Can I ask; one thing that concerns me is how to access trains in a tunnel in the event of a derailment.. What is your plan of action in the event of a derailment in this set-up? Cheers
6️⃣0️⃣3️⃣🚂😎. Thanks for the great video. I may try something like that myself 👍👍👍👍 Awsum 🚂❤️. I was thinking about a tunnel that maybe the ticket ❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍👍
Hi, watching your videos I noticed you had your track layout transferred to paper on your bench. I use anyrail6 and was wondering how you did that to scale??

Very helpful! I'm just about to attempt my 1st tunnel of foam, so I appreciate the tips!
thanks Trudy, glad you enjoyed it
I wish you had finished all of these videos. Fascinating. I would have loved to see the final layout.
Good work mate, the entrance with the liners and ballast looks great!
Cheers Gregg
Great tips and points for cutting nice elevations from your tunnel !
Nice one, those tunnels are looking great. Cheers, Dan

Thanks, with a young family to look after finding time to work on the layout can be hard sometimes
What do you use for a tunnel. Liners I haven't made a o scale tunnel I have seen people. Use 4 or 5 inch round black vc sewer pipe

I would not recommend building the tunnel like i did with no easy access.
Making a access hole at the back of the tunnel would be best practice

Thanks. I will be sure to make a note of that right now in the plans. Cheers

Nice one
Im having hard time finding these foams at Bunnings. Where did you get them ?
Try searching polystyrene products
This is the same foam used in packing products
@@DetroitRiverRailroad is this the business name cause I put that in Goggle and a site came up as Polystereneproducts.com.au from QLD
Not sure what state your in, but anywhere where they sell foam should be ok
@@DetroitRiverRailroad nsw. I’ve looked but not most sites are minimum purchase value order $100+
It's a long shot but you could try stores like jbhi and do some dumpster diving for foam packaging
I was wondering how to do a curved tunnel for my christmas layout now I think I have the answer.
Heidi Borjgman Schmange glad I could help you
Nice work.
great vid was looking for a affordable way out of creating a tunnel in o'scale
+static 45a thanks, glad it helped you out

+Stony Hi Stony, you go to the print screen and select 1:1 scale before printing. Hope this helps you out
Michael
Got that BUT I can't print that size. So did you actually take the anyrail .any file to a printing shop?
when your in the print screen you select a PDF writer instead of a printer.
if you don't have a PDF writer you will need to download One
Thanks alot......enjoying your videos
its taking its time but some good watching. your controller videos have been interesting watches
Sensational, I will copy the idea to do in my model.
+willian silva glad this video could help you out
Yes my friend, it helped a lot. I'll post it on my channel when I do. Thank you
