Did the vélodyssée in 2022 with a Burley Coho xc trailer. Great on the flat but gravity soon takes over up hill. Love the video doing Brittany next year on touring bike with panniers.
Oh nice, just looked them up! Yep gravity sure does nail you on the ascents - the first day with panniers is brutal reminding you that you can't use descent momentum to get you up the other side of the hill 😄. Enjoy Brittany next year!

Impressed by your handlebar bag, can’t find one anywhere which is as big as my old one. Where did you buy it? Merci.
It's from Altura and is really old, like 20 years old but they and some other brands still sell that kind of style. I think the Topeak Tour guide is similar and the Altura Dryline. Try searching by size, these big ones are often around 6 or 7 litres I think.

@susiesongling So important and good ones make touring so easy. I also recommend you search for Klikfix ones as it's such a stable fitting system and compatible with loads of the decent sized ones.
I’ve a bob yak…never felt comfortable with the skewer they supply so started carrying a spare! if you ever get really stuck contact st john street cycles bridge water uk….they will ship any bob yak parts worldwide super fast! also if you decide on buying a bike with bolt through design then robert axle project make bolts for every bike out there! 🙂👍🏻

Great video, thanks for sharing. We are riding v45 next year and we’re wondering how you find the municipal campsites please as we really enjoy them but found them ad hoc last year in Brittany
Thanks! I find municipal campsites by typing in 'camping' into Google maps and scrolling along the route. Sometimes they're labelled as municipal but often not, so I just try to find their websites and check, as it always says on their (usually sparse) sites if they're municipal. It takes some time but is a fun activity. Along the coast there'll be non-municipal but still small, cheap and basic campsites too. Have a great time!

I'm not much of a camper...do you think there's a way to do this , but stay in a B&B every night?
Yup absolutely, I think a mixture of Airbnb and more traditional b&bs and gîtes would be really easy, perhaps even easier than camping if you're going away from the coast a little. There's a great website that lists particularly cyclist friendly accommodation in Brittany too: www.tourismebretagne.com/selon-mes-envies/voyage-a-velo/des-hebergements-au-top-pour-les-cyclistes/ you can change the language to English 🙂

I am planning a trip to Brittany this May for 4 weeks, I find the hiking cabin very interesting, where exactly is that ?
That cabin was at this campsite on the north coast a little west of Roscoff: www.campingodevras.fr/ but I've seen them in other campsites too. The Carhaix municipal campsite has them for sure. Enjoy your trip!
