  • Thumb tips have been around forever, and there are a lot of incredible pieces of magic you can do with this seemingly simple magic tool.
Thumb tip magic tricks are some of the best closeup magic that you can perform.
If you don't already own a thumb tip, you are missing out on some amazing magic tricks you could be performing for your audiences.
Of course the obvious magic trick of making a handkerchief disappear is commonly taught but when you have a magicians thumb you open the world to mentalism, disappearances, appearances, switches and so much more.
In this video I teach the basic 100 bill switch and talk about my thoughts on the different types of thumb tips on the market.
Other thumb tip magic tricks I've covered on this channel
Thumb Tip Magic: • Magicians Thumb Tip an...
Bank Night : • What the heck is a BAN...
Thumb tips are cheap and come in a wide range of sizes and materials, modern thumb tips are made of plastic but you can also find metal thumb tips which have special advantages when making something on fire vanish.
If you'd like to learn some more magic with thumb tips, please leave me a comment and I will create some more!

Far longer than I care to remember, Roy Kissel showed me this idea. You take one of the old metal thumb tips, SS Adams I think. Put the metal thumb tip inside of a Vernet thumb tip. Looks perfect but there's no danger of melting.

Yes! finally got it. One problem we have here in the UK is that our "paper" money is now polymer which doesn't fold easily.
Found some foreign banknotes from my travels and they worked well.
One thing though, for @ArsPraestigium, Vernet tips are made in the Argentine not Brasil.

Saw Justin willmans magic meltdown money episode. And wanted to perform 1 of his tricks. I own thumb tip videos, but didn't want to dig through media and was hoping for a quicker answer to handling of the switch online. - That's why I subbed. Very succinct!

IT that’s why it doesn’t matter if it doesn’t match a persons skin tone, it could be painted like green and if it’s handled correctly it will never be detected.

😂 nice pun. Still better honestly than the green thumbs. Seriously the magic community needs to get its stuff together and create a darker complexion thumb that doesn’t look like crap.

The Magic Minute Absolutely. Mentioned to a magic shop owner that a thumb tip wasn’t a match for my skin tone and he actually used a green thumb. Three of us in the store watched him perform - none of us noticed. Bought the thumb.

My girlfriend once lost my TT. When I asked where it was, she breathlessly told me "It just ... disappeared!" I could tell by that anguished look on her face that she really wanted to help me find it. I lost my magic wand the same way. And three Sharpies. So strange.

The name Vernet is Brazilian, not French, and the letter T at the end _is_ pronounced. "Ver-Net" is the correct pronunciation. Also, the version you are demostrating was created by Mike Koslowski, was first published by Michael Ammar, whom you mention early in the video. :)
