- Leaving the foothills of the Canadian Rocky Mountains and heading back into the province of British Columbia trying to find my way on this summer road trip. Feeling like its time to head to the shop. VAN LIFE CANADA
My name is Chrome i have been living in y cargo van for 6 years now. I started this lifestyle BROKE and IN DEBT and after t11 months of living the van life i cleared my debt and started to put my life back together and build for a better future. I have turned my original van into a badass camper van that is lifted with all the toys. Over the years i went from being broke and stealth camping in the city and sleeping at walmarts... to now, living fulltime in a jacked up van and driving deep off-grid into the backcountry and living life in the dirt. WOW LIFE HAS CHANGED.

Calif is a cesspool.
People are leaving in droves, insurance companies aren't writing new policies(all state, state farm & geico) 2 ins companies are pulling out entirely. Short cops & EMS.
I lived in Ventura 30+ yrs & Bakersfield, Tehachapi.
Crime is high & so is the cost of living. Be careful & stay safe please.

I just want to say : I saw you on the road this morning! I was so excited! I told my brother « that’s the guy I follow on TH-cam, who lives in his van! ». 😅 I noticed the van was kinda imposing, noticed the tires, the rig on the roof, and the flag. I was going the other way, turned to see the back and noticed your big sticker. 😁 That was a few minutes before I got to Joffre Lakes.
I haven’t seen the last two videos yet (too busy exploring), so I guess I got a spoiler… Looks like you’re heading back to Vancouver Island after all?

White stuff at road construction site = It is basically a Lime Kiln Dust (powdered cement is sometimes substituted if the soils contain too much sand, at a much greater cost.) that is thoroughly incorporated into the top 12-16 inches typically and then recompacted with a sheepsfoot roller, regraded and then smooth-rolled before subbase is installed.

Re-adapting to solo life can be hard and takes time. Can we please acknowledge how much strength it takes to live a solo life, even more in a van…? It deserves so much respect if someone lives, works, problem-solves and decides all alone.
Sometimes I think he was pressured into going solo again because of the subscribers who left because he had someone else with him. Not saying they might not have had issues, but in reality all relationships have up’s and downs. But we all deserve to be happy.
Go home, Chrome. You have lots to do there. Recharge, regroup, relax.

You have a had a rough couple of months. Go back to your garage and work on the ambulance and take small trips. I’m sure there are places around 100 mile range you could go to and camp out on the back roads. Stay safe be happy🎉

You are a wealth of knowledge for me. I lost 3rd gear in my van today. 2nd breakdown on the road out of 2 trips. Knowing that you babied your van to the mechanics gave me some peace. So I calmed down and remembered your trouble and how you were ok and I hung on through 60 miles to the mechanics. You saved me over $250 towing( which happened the first mishap of a broken fuel pump. There is a light at the end of somebodies tunnel. So glad I listen to you.😊

The advantage of the van is that hou can go home to the Island and leave when you feel like going off again.

Chrome, I think it`s the transmission problem that is creating the uncertainty in your sub-conscious. Once you get confidence that the van & transmission is fine, you will be OK again! But i`ve also learned through the years to listen to that voice, even if its just to give you peace of mind!
Chrome, not only is your van talking to you, but so are the Universe and our great Creator!! Not to mention your Guardian angels!! Do not ignore them or the signs!!!

I relate to how you're feeling. Sometimes you get a "kick in" from all aspects of your life and just need to hide away lick your wounds and regroup! Take care, and don't force yourself to have fun follow your gut.
I love this video. You're being present in the moment....even by not stopping to edit videos. Keep up the practice of following your intuition in EVERY MOMENT! That's all we can do these days.

White stuff is lime. Either lime or cement is used to stabilize the soil in preparation for new asphalt. The material properties of the soil in the location determine which is used, how much, and how much water is mixed with it.

I have watch you for about 2, maybe 3 years. I went back when I first saw your vlog and watched every video. I agree, the smile is on your face but not in your eyes. It is called PTSD, many different amounts of trauma can cause it. For some people they require huge amounts of trauma, others take less and still others even what many would perceive as a minor amount of trauma. And the Trauma itself doesn't have to physical, it is far more emotional, but can have very large effects ! Just go with it Chrome go home and heal your soul !
I think you may have something there. He spent 12 hours of driving thinking at any second his van could stop on the road and get rear- ended by a semi…. him AND Cruzie! I notice in this video that his eyes keep twitching to see what’s coming from behind him. PTSD comes from thinking you seriously might die. Takes a while to shake it off. Head for whatever makes you feel safe and secure. Have small adventures from home and build back up.
