But the tiger looks strangely small, so it's a big guy with the ability to turn into a tiny tiger , or a normal guy riding a big guy, in a land of very big guys.
I want to thank you for playing some of these obscure beat em ups on here it has encouraged me to find some of these for my completely legitimate hardware at home.
From what I remember Inhumanoids was pushed pretty hard on kids back in the late 1980s, honestly almost as much as like Transformers or GI Joe for as long as Inhumanoids lasted.
Lol the rolling barrels still somehow decapitating the enemies made me laugh harder than it should have. This game is like a Cannon movie in beat-em-up form.
If I had a nickel for every time Tecmo put a nightmare-inducing continue screen in their arcade games during the late 1980s (Wildfang and Ninja Gaiden), I'd have, like, two nickels... ... which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
One of the sort of freakiest things too in a way is that after you see what happens to the guy and the lady in the attract mode, they just casually matter of factly show the "Tecmo Bunny" mascot leaning against the high scores as if nothing totally insane had just been shown to you. Like, "Hi, kids...(chews on carrot) wasn't that human chomping and swording just wild or what?"
Not a beat'em up, but an obscure arcade game I would recommend is Dead Connection. It's a shooter by Taito and its intro is amazing. The game itself is mindless carnage with some of the most destructable environments outside of a Red Faction game. Check it out if you want something a little more spicy than a beat'em up.
YOOOO!! Thank you so much for finding this and playing it! This game was at a local arcade and I couldn't remember what it was called and every time I tried to describe it to someone they would look at me like I cooked it up in some fever dream.
It's like group project where everyone went off and did their own thing. The level designer did some generic medieval fantasy world. The music designer just totally phoned it in, completely uninspired. But the character designer, he just went off and made the most insanely metal sprites he possibly could! Then they all came together and we have this, Tonal Dissonance the Video Game!
When collecting the special dragon skull that randomly appears after defeating an enemy, the Tecmo Knight will summon the most powerful creature to ride on in the game: the Flying Dragon. Tecmo Knight is immune to attack while riding Flying Dragon, whose breath kills any monster in the game instantly, including the stage-end bosses.
I remember this weirdly gross game! I beat it by alternating between player 1 and 2, which allowed me to bypass the continue screen because I always had an active character in play. So then I was just able to power through. Good job beating it the legit way!
what a bloody and violent game even the intro screen and countdown is bloody.. my god the blood man... this game makes mortal kombat look like a playground
Matt referencing the Inhumanoids is so 100% on brand for him. Speaking of Inhumanoids, I suggest he do a Wha Happun on the whole Hasbro Shared Universe. Cause there is ALOT of behind the scenes kaffufles with IDWs attempt at making on (including unplanned uses of the eponymous Inhumanoids and My Little Pony)
This is Tecmo Knight, i knew it looked familiar. it is funny that he has never played thru a MAME catalog, how is that possible after 80 years of being a gamer youtube goon XD
Have you ever played Cannon Dancer/Osman? Its Strider if he kung fu kicked cyberpunk baddies in the middle east. I think its made by some of the original Strider dev team.
An Inhumanoids game? Maybe, but thinking about them in a modern setting makes me think it's the type of property that would have had a kickstarter board game by now.
Just the first 40sec of this vid proves this game deserves a remake! Did you see the way dude got his head ripped off?! Just straight *"ssshhrrrriiikk!"* 😂 And then the girl getting the sword just jammed in her face like an angry kid destroying a Barbie doll? 😂 But they shadowed it out and that was all the cool stuff...
Is he a normal sized human riding on different mounts while he fights giant monsters? It seems a reasonable explaination for the size of your character. The scale feels off, as though it's a tiny man riding these things. That would not be much fun to role play.
I get the impression you're the villain in this game. I mean, look at the proportions of the elements in the background, clearly he's in giant land how huge everything is, and apparently they're in bad times how everything is in ruins and suddendly this tiny asshole comes up and starts mass murdering everyone. Heck even the map screen makes it seem like you're burning their kingdom to ashes
Yeah i know this one, talk about personality, a game where normal enemies are bosses in other games, imagine this as devil may cry\god of war game it would be dope. I am so sad sword and sorcery is so dead these days.
The Arcade Archive title has the weird name "Tecmo Knight". I have it and many other Arcade Archive title on my wish list. One thing I don't like from the Arcade Archive games is the sometime annoying online stuff in your face. Some games always ask you to upload your highscore after a game over and every game have this strange Caravane mode, where you only get 3 minutes to set a highscore. But overall is it for me a good way to experienced those game on a legal way. I could never play those game back in the days, because there were here found only in casinos and you have to be at least 18 to get in. It is sometime crazy to me that at the times of 8 bit system NES, you had those crazy looking and sounding games hidden in arcades. If I heard arcade back then only Pac-Man and Space Invaders came into my mind. 😁
knowing the houses are big guy-sized means it isn't a human riding a big man, it's a tiny man riding a normal human to combat
But the tiger looks strangely small, so it's a big guy with the ability to turn into a tiny tiger , or a normal guy riding a big guy, in a land of very big guys.
@@emperormegaman3856 Just what i was thinking about
3:01 playing Rampage from the perspective of a building’s resident
Inhumanoids was an 80's metal album cover in motion
I want to thank you for playing some of these obscure beat em ups on here it has encouraged me to find some of these for my completely legitimate hardware at home.
Matt's deep knowledge of weirdass 80's/90's cartoons never ceases to amaze.
From what I remember Inhumanoids was pushed pretty hard on kids back in the late 1980s, honestly almost as much as like Transformers or GI Joe for as long as Inhumanoids lasted.
Gargoyle thingys with chained feet, a skull flail and a hook hand is just peak enemy design.
Lol the rolling barrels still somehow decapitating the enemies made me laugh harder than it should have. This game is like a Cannon movie in beat-em-up form.

Damn this is pretty gory for a beat em up. and from 1989 too? wtf, how've I never heard about this one?
I know I never heared of it because I being born at the time.
I saw it once in the wild at a campground near tge olympic park in Calgary.
That's the first time I've heard anyone mention Inhumanoids in decades, and now my back hurts.

The Middle-aged Mutant Ex-wrestler Turtles are really disturbing.

12:50 Yo! That Gamera dude just gave you the "finger"...rude as hell!
0:57 It's "The Guy" playing a guy riding another guy!
what a bloody and violent game even the intro screen and countdown is bloody.. my god the blood man... this game makes mortal kombat look like a playground
I played it as Tecmo Knight in my hometown. Absolutely love this game!
If this seems familiar to anyone its only called wild fang in japan. The US version is called tecmo knight.
I love this game! It's so gloriously insane and violent. You can tell a lot of -drugs- love went into it.
Matt referencing the Inhumanoids is so 100% on brand for him.

You should play Ninja Baseball Bat Man, a weird and charming beat em up that's _aggressively_ baseball themed
This is Tecmo Knight, i knew it looked familiar. it is funny that he has never played thru a MAME catalog, how is that possible after 80 years of being a gamer youtube goon XD
i had a god darn Inhumanoids coloring book with D'compose on the cover. probably why i like a lot of the stuff i do now!
Not enough games have tiger riding/driving
I've played Tecmo Knight a few times, and not once have I come unmounted. How the hell did you do that?!
Another banger!
When can we expect you to tackle racing games with life bars? Like Tokyo Extreme Racer Zero?
❤
I remember seeing this in the Arcade it was really gory for its time.
3:00 Isn't Grodd regular-gorilla-size, though? His thing is that he's psychic, I thought.
This is exactly the kind of game that inspired the Deathman arcade game in No More Heroes 3.
I love these kind of games! Yes, more please!
Dragon breath "Decimates"? It straight up Annihilates them! Instead of just removing 1/10 of them.
This is metal as fuck. I would definitely have played this back in the days.
Love these old school beat 'em ups.
So good!
Have you ever played Cannon Dancer/Osman? Its Strider if he kung fu kicked cyberpunk baddies in the middle east. I think its made by some of the original Strider dev team.
I remember this game! it was one of the first I played in the states, must've been in the late 80s or early 90s, on an arcade place in Tucson
Acording to Wikipedia, the giant man you ride is called Smokeman. lol
I'm old enough to remember this game it was the coolest thing when i was kid and it took me so long to track it down in my adult life
I love your beat em up content. There are so many I've never even heard of
The alliteration alone was enough to make me watch!
Now let's get some onomatopoeia up in here!!
Decompose, De-com-posseeee ! I had the toy creepy shit that glowing in the dark was too much for me.
Great one I've never heard of before, thanks for sharing, more like this would be great
What a wild game.
Ironically, I just watched a longplay of this game earlier today
Humionds song 😂 got me rolling
another great beat em' up.
I ran into a playthrough of this thing a while back and immediately thought you your channel. I'm glad it ended up here, it's so off-the-rails weird.
Theses graphics and designs are on a different level. Not necessarily a higher level, but different...
*Nathan Explosion voice:* That intro is brutal.
The intro scared me as a kid
Twenty five minutes, and not a single Dio reference? Impressive.
That would be a good combo for a beat'em up game,
Altered beast, and Golden Axe with dash of SplatterHouse.
Some real Crude Buster vibes here.
Played this game not too long ago. It rocks and of course big gorilla is always appreciated.
Master Blaster must defend Bartertown!
Spinning and winning on that tiger!
damn G.R.O.W.L. got weird
An Inhumanoids game? Maybe, but thinking about them in a modern setting makes me think it's the type of property that would have had a kickstarter board game by now.

Wasn't this also released as Tecmo Knight as well? Or am I thinking of something else?
Yes according to the place I downloaded it from.
I mean on my legit owned hardware.
Yes. I first learned about it under that name.
Those turtle men and the gorilla's little baby hands are truly awful lol
Fucking fever dream......
I love beat um ups but never heard of this one
I never saw the cartoon back then, but I did see Inhumanoids toys at Toys'R'us. Asked for one as they looked cool but Mom gave an emphatic NO.
The title of this game sounds like a music theme.
I wish he'd play Kingdom under fire the crusaders
Why does this game feel like it'd fit in the mortal kombat canon
I love this type of game. Im glad developers are still making them. 3d is cool but these types of games cant die. Way to much fun😅
Mission 1:Prove who rules BarterTown
The character kind of looks like Snow White, like she charmed a tiger with song and started going to town with a mace.
This is amazing 😮 how have I never heard of this? My life up until this point has been a sham
Sounds like you mashed up rapid and propitious to make rapitious.
I get the impression you're the villain in this game. I'm always interested in an obscure old game, arcade or otherwise. 👍
Hey Matt. The next beat 'em up you should give a try is the original Spikeout. I played it in Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth and thought it was fun.
I love this..... But when tekken part 2?
Tomorrow!
ALL DECAPITATIONS ALL THE TIME
The game is kinda awesome! I'd lost my shit if I had a chance to play it as a kid
What a silly and strange game.
Shame you didn't lose on purpose, the Game Over screen is great (NO FUTURE!)
Good ol' Tecmo Knight. Pretty forgettable outside the gore and the continue/game over screens. NO FUTURE!
They just don't make beat em ups like this anymore😥
Yeah i know this one, talk about personality, a game where normal enemies are bosses in other games, imagine this as devil may cry\god of war game it would be dope. I am so sad sword and sorcery is so dead these days.
First
Have you done the Hook (robin williams) arcade game?
