You could also offer this service to beauty salons. They typically go through a lot of towels.

Many do, but not all. Many of our commercial clients at our laundromat 'should' have their own laundry facility, but don't. We service all of the industries you mentioned. Also, many of them want to focus on what their primary business and don't want to mess with staffing.

I want to offer the service but I don’t have my own washer and dryer. I planned to use the local laundromat closest to my clients….any suggestions or comments for me?

That is a good way to get started. Commercial machines do a better job and they are much faster than residential machines.
Usually the laundromat owner will appreciate you taking business to them. If it is a card store, you may want to see if you can get a volume discount or access during special hours.

How much do you charge for pick up and drop off?

    • @CurbsideLaundries

Everyone charges a different amount. It's often dependent upon competition & geography. At our laundromat in Long Beach, California we are at $2 per pound.

We Wash started as a home business with 4 washers and 4 dryers. Now they have their own commercial space and production has increased!

Wonder how they're competing with poplin, which has contractors nationwide at $1/lb. It seems completely unbeatable.

It comes down to reputation. For some cheaper is better, others realize their clothes and the time it takes to find the clothes they like is worth more than trying to save a few bucks. When we opened up our laundromat in Long Beach, we were the expensive one and still are. And we are busier than the cheaper ones. Why? Because quality costs more. We are attended and our machins work.
Take a look at the Better Business Bureau reviews for Sudshare (before they changed their name) and you'll see some wild stories of mishaps. Your #1 asset in this business is your reputation. When someone gets burned by a 'sudster', they often do not blame the sudster, they blame Sudshare.
