I'm more curious about the background of King James I's murder, to be honest. As brutal and as gruesome as that execution is, the history is fascinating to me.

I love learning about the background of events. It helps me understand how they came about. I learned some of this in college, but you are much more easy to understand than some university lecturers.

From what I've seen in the comments, I think your pointing out the grusomeness of this execution with sounds of it curdled more than a few stomachs! It made me thankful that we don't think that such a thing as public execution is necessary anymore. Of course, the local newscast tells me that others think we do. Apologies Bruce but I saw Celtic deliver a 3-0 execution of Rangers recently. Watching the Rangers analysts explaining their teams loss makes that the most brutal execution in Scottish history. Excellent video as always. Canadian fan of the channel.
Very interesting presentation not for the ordinary casual viewer but great tale in particular that Scots tradition of minority rulers the background to the execution is a must to hear
