the black falcon torsos are $1.27 on pick a brick, while a plain blue one is $1.19. if he got plain torsos for armored characters, he'd be spending more to swap out the arms. it also just makes more sense to buy equal numbers of the black falcon torsos and legs, in case he wants to reuse them later. your advice does make sense and works in other cases, but for black falcons (or really any figure you can get on PAB) it's just simpler to use printed torsos under the armor.
That would be amazing to see LOTR in Goldfyre. Maybe even incorporate it into his normal medieval world. Or not. All the same you are right: You can’t say no to a LOTR video!
The orange eyes glowing in that bat helmet has an epic look to it. Fantasy Era - Evil Wizard and Evil Wizard, Series 13 would make a good addition to either Fright knights or Trolls.
Someday, someone with lots of Castle minifigs, sets and MOCs will have to make a parody of the Game of Thrones title sequence but with Black Falcons, Blue Lions, Green Dragons, etc. replacing GoT's factions. With great panning shots of Lionsheart Castle and the new Falcons' Mountain Fortress. It would be so sick 😁
here's an idea for additions to your armies: Viking Mercenaries its based off of the idea of the Byzantine Varangarian Guard, basically the Byzantines hired Norsemen to be Imperial bodyguards (because they couldn't trust their own people to guard the Emperor) and shock troops to pull it off in lego you basically just need to take the body and legs of any faction, place a viking helmet on them, and give them a round shield and whatever weapon you deem appropriate for a Viking mercenary, what whatever other additional bits (capes/shoulder armor) you want to make em feel unique the faction-specific body denotes who this Viking's employer is, but by retaining a Viking shield (whether its plain or the more intricate Viking prints) you show that they are still an independent
If you don't mind me giving my opinion on the matter, I think that the cavalry units should be the ones with the great helms and not the infantry knights, since the great helm is designed specifically for horse-mounted knights. in any case, I realy like your army and I am very much jealous of you, since you can't get much castles minifigs where I live.
I don’t have many dinosaurs but some of the ones I do have I use as mounts - along with a Star Wars dewback - for my lizardman army. I can imagine them looking pretty good with orc riders, too.
I think that second harpoon piece turns basil's axe into a really cool two-handed battleaxe if you place it on the bottom of the hilt and move the axe heads to the top harpoon.
with those extra knights you should make a band of rogue knights/“knights for hire” and you could use extra part you have and swap em around and make more custom one off knights
2:09 there are also some red Lion knights from Lego kingdom that might also fit in well with the Lion Knight faction overall. There is (or was) a Lego chess set with a lot of red Lion knight and green dragon king figures so you might be able to find some there. Maybe you could have the red Lion knights and blue lion knights be the two subservient houses that the red&blue lions rule over?
Lovely army. I really like what you did with the queen (I usually don't pull hands, but I might have to do this as well). You should look into the white full helm from the harry potter chess set (it might go really well with the queen - I have 2 or 3 of those, might make a queen's guard out of them with the queen's torso and white arms). Love the Silver Falcons as welll (I was lucky enough to get 18 or so ) .
2:25 ur correct by saying orcs cus troll are bigger and a slightly different colour, also orcs have a BIG underbite, unlike trolls which just have over and under bites
This is an impressive collection. For my Fright knights, I used zombie, mummy, and other undead heads for the main army and some skeletons as well, while using living people for heavy knights and people who man any siege weapons.
for your black falcon army, An alternative that I saw for helmets is to use a blue bandana hair piece from the Ninjago Island minifigures. I think it looks AMAZING
wow that's an insane collection! i would love to see a LotR video, and also i would love to see you incorporate more fantasy characters in your world. Also, an idea i had is using the stone army warrior torso from ninjago to add some diversity to your fright knight army, i think it would fit right in!
I'm so envious. I discovered Lego minifigures a year ago when series 24 came out. But then I didn't know where to buy minifigures and thought I was dependent on just one market. I lost the chance to buy the black-yellow knight and now they cost 10x the orginalny price. Now that I know where to buy them, I managed to secure 9 basils, 7 goat herders and 5 barbarians. Excellent army, btw :)
In my Moc that I am Building currently I have a lot of factions from previous castle editions. We have the Crown Lion Dynasty: With all three variants of the Lion Knights, the red white, the blue and the red blue from the 80s (The new Version though), and the Soldiers in the Kings Palast are the Crown Knights from the Castle Edition with the Skeletons, as Royal Guard. Then we got the Rebel Lords: Consisting of the Black Falcons, Raven Knights, Red and Green Dragons. Then I implement some minor factions: Wolfpack Bandits, Skorpion Knights, and a custom Faction the Amethyst Wolfs (They are a Minor Noble house in the City, they have the Knights Kingdom Colors and Armor of Danju, the Purple one), also there will be Fright Knights, and some Vikings as Mercenarys.
Love the vampire army. I’m planning something similar in a treehouse build where the vampires took over a Forestmen treehouse and now hunt animals/people in the woods
You should get some of the chima crocodile torsos and legs for the orcs, also I see you have some Ninjago skulkin armor on one of them, there’s another bigger version of that on the kruncha and whyplash minifigures
That Black Falcon castle is really coming along! It's great to see how well your Raven Knights are doing! Keep up the great work man. Also, all you are missing for armies is a group of werewolves.
Your collection is pretty impressive, but I must flex a little bit: I've collected almost 20 Lego Bull Knights and as far as I know it's one of the rarest armies. I wish I could one day play with Lego with you XD
I have one of the Red Falcon torsos, I had no I idea they were available for such a short time. Mine is currently being used on a Mad Max figure as an armored scout.
Nice where did the chipped tooth fright knight head come from? There is also the space figure head from series 9 could work as a castle orc though its possible its not a space orc like I thought.
Honestly, I think the blue Lion Knights are underrated. If they came out in like 2017-2020 instead of right after the Kingdoms theme they would have been much better received (wouldn't have hurt to have a little better builds as well, but the minifigures were great!)
Couldn't agree more. The mediocre builds from cas2013 coming right after the amazing builds from kingdoms really hurt it. I still prefer the figs from kingdoms but the blue lions and red dragons are up there with some of the best prints.
Nice setup! I’m only keeping my cmf knights (1 per) and my falcon army which is over 200 deep. I have so many knights and bardings i need to sell. Just been too lazy to host auctions on whatnot. Also deciding if i want to keep or sell my black falcon war elephant.
I like your Lore and I have started adding that in my set up. Most of my lore comes from just what i happen to have and being creative with in the restraints. For example i only have 3 fully armored fantasy lion knights, I use them as the praetorian guards, and one crown knight set that has an alliance with lion knights so it some what makes sense for them to be staged together. Keep up the good work
Love your video men! I just have to say that your hobbit door of bag end is not correctly oriented (the little script need to be close to the ground at the right)
For the black falcons, given how many you have without helmets. Perhaps consider some form of hat, similar to what was worn by Byzantine militia and garrison troops? Having lots of light infantry would make sense for a large standing army. Ofcourse I also don't remember your lore all that well. Just throwing out a suggestion.
This is incredible! I'm thinking of using something like this for the world building of the story I'm writing. I'd love to see what LOTR/Hobbit figures you have. I have a bunch of those.
I was just thinking a way you could combine the lion nights is maybe say that the red and blue wearing ones are royal guard? and the blue ones (That I am pretty sure are far more plentiful) Are the general soldiers?
Lore for the armies: The Dragon Knights Once the most powerful empires in the land, the Dragon Kingdoms have been taken down like the creatures they named themselves after. However, the remnants of these fallen nations; the Red and Green Dragons have come together in an alliance. Uniting their small kingdoms into a-soon-to-be unstoppable empire. The Lion Civilization Despite being the second largest kingdom in the land, the Lions have been very fat and complacent. Because of this many Lion Knights believed that the Lioness; their fearless Queen is young and naive, causing them to splinter off and form their own factions. One such faction that splintered are the Crown Knights. The Orcs and Trolls Much like mankind, the Orcs and Trolls of the Ghis Desert have vied for control and territory. That all changed however, when a young warlord named Gul’Karga, united the many clans and tribes under his command, declaring himself the Highlord/King. Many years later his grandson, Sauron Karga would witness the arrival of the Ravens. The Fright Knights When Basil the Batlord fled to the bone isles, he was approached by a tribe of Goblins who worshipped his power. This gave Basil a sort of demigod complex, and so he agreed that the goblins can worship him as long as they served him. When he returned a powerful necromancer, he was approached by followers old and new. The Black Falcon Forces After the successful expedition to the Lions, the Black Falcon Kingdom was split into two factions. The Red falcons, who controlled the Falcons Point, and the Blue Falcons. However, it seems as though the Red Falcons are beginning to question their allegiance. The Raven Knights Despite suffering a massive defeat at the hands of the Black Falcons, the Ravens have become the largest army in the world. Rumor has it that the Raven King will approach Sauron, to form a powerful alliance to take back the northern continent. The Viking Horde This once great horde, composed of many clans, once controlled the north. Until the Falcons declared themselves the only true Northmen capable of ruling a kingdom. The last Vikings fled to the northernmost regions, hoping that they are safe.
That gate from the 2013 line, it should be placed in front of the Lion Knight castle because it can serve as a means to prevent anyone from going up the ramp, I'm planning to do that with what I got in mind thou my setup will be a bit wacky whenever I get it sorted as I need to rebuild my lion Knight castle from 2013 thou in a different manner to how I did have it!!
I've used the old school Bat Lord helmet with orcs in the past, and the new one fits well with them too. Some orcs in Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor use similar ones, so it seems to be a thing! I was planning on making over my Castle 2013 dragon knights as Basil's army, but I like the way you have them too. I feel like the CMF Evil Knight (the one whose shield has a boar on it) might fit well with Fright Knights too.
In my army, Black falcons with black helmets are painted black to show off. Because Black Falcons are the warrior culture. Personally I like the black helmets more because its matches the hands.

Some people outright dismiss the silver helmets for use in a Black Falcon army, because they are too shiny for them. I am torn on this issue. On the one hand the silver helmets look great on their own, on the other hand I like the sinister look of the Black Falcons with black gear and armor. I also appreciate the black hood for archers or assassins. The state of your Black Falcon army is a great start anyway.
Incorporating some of the new Dungeons and Dragons bugs might be cool for more mystical and fantastical figures and mages. A whole faction of Wizards, Witches, and magic users might be cool. (Just not another school lime Hogwarts or Winterhold LOL)
Awesome collection. I just started to get into Lego castle I just got the medieval blacksmith I've been eyeing it for a while and can't wait to get into it.
Hey, I just wanted to say thank you. Your videos are always very informative and thanks to you I started building Lego again. 👍I'm in the process of collecting medieval sets. I only have 2 at the moment but everything is difficult at the beginning. 😅So thank you very much and would like to see your Lord of the Rings collection.😁
That is such a kind comment, i really appreciate that. I love making these videos a ton and i am so fortunate to have people that like watching them. Which medieval sets did you pick up?
I have the medieval blacksmith and the Crator 3in1 castle set. Also a few old minifigures. Remember the one with the red-grey shield and blue border? Otherwise I have a troop of 21 Romans. But that doesn't quite fit 😅
I love all of this, but one comment: what you're calling a halberd is actually a battle axe or great axe. Lego made an actual halberd piece in the black monarch/ black knight Era of the 90s
I only have two armies, a combination of both Kingdom/Castle and the very few elves on one side, the other is the Kingdom and orcs, because they make a tough army.
Personally, I would use the original Fright Knight minifigures for Basil’s army, and the original sand green orcs for my Orc faction, with the CMF orc as the Orc Prince.
4:29 Halberds were historically often used by body guards so your choice is an accurate one
Even today, the Pope’s guards at the Vatican are armed with halberds.
@@drzander3378 I've always been confused with that why halberds do they not expect people not to attack the pope
9:00 advice, don't use printed torso under the armour, instead use regular torso, in that way you can build 2 characters instead of one
the black falcon torsos are $1.27 on pick a brick, while a plain blue one is $1.19. if he got plain torsos for armored characters, he'd be spending more to swap out the arms. it also just makes more sense to buy equal numbers of the black falcon torsos and legs, in case he wants to reuse them later.

This is extremely impressive. Gotta say i am somewhat jealous of your armies.
Yeah, me too
Same. This is just amaising
It’s illegal for Lego not to release cheap Medieval theme. It is just as great as Ninjago, but somehow it is only released in large, expensive sets.
Same here

@@Stanley_bakerTHATS WHAT I THOUGHT
@@Stanley_bakeryes it is my friend!
Do you think he should get several Dragon Mountain sets from Lego castle to use the dragons for his Dragon Knights.
HAHAH
9:14 King looks strange with torso with bags and soldier's clothes, i think you should give him more aristocratic torso
The black and yellow tournament Knights are just incredible! The custom barding is cool too, hopefully lego brings that theme back some day
Give them lion knights some help!
Someday, someone with lots of Castle minifigs, sets and MOCs will have to make a parody of the Game of Thrones title sequence but with Black Falcons, Blue Lions, Green Dragons, etc. replacing GoT's factions.

Them ‘pearl dark grey’ helmets are definitely hard to get in bulk. Luckily I won an EBay bid for 6 Kingdom Dragon Knights for only ~£20
WOW thats a really great deal. im still holding out hope that PDG helmets will come in a new set at some point lol
its nice to have a breth of fresh air when it comes to lego castle
That raven army would cost you 2 grand to put together nowadays. That's crazy.
here's an idea for additions to your armies: Viking Mercenaries
its based off of the idea of the Byzantine Varangarian Guard, basically the Byzantines hired Norsemen to be Imperial bodyguards (because they couldn't trust their own people to guard the Emperor) and shock troops
to pull it off in lego you basically just need to take the body and legs of any faction, place a viking helmet on them, and give them a round shield and whatever weapon you deem appropriate for a Viking mercenary, what whatever other additional bits (capes/shoulder armor) you want to make em feel unique
the faction-specific body denotes who this Viking's employer is, but by retaining a Viking shield (whether its plain or the more intricate Viking prints) you show that they are still an independent
that goatherd legs on the viking torso is dope

Awesome! The hair from Lego avatar looks cool on the orcs in my opinion!
Oh man good shout. I kinda forgot all those new parts existed tbh lol
I think that second harpoon piece turns basil's axe into a really cool two-handed battleaxe if you place it on the bottom of the hilt and move the axe heads to the top harpoon.

I need to see some Lotr videos from you
I love all of this, but one comment: what you're calling a halberd is actually a battle axe or great axe. Lego made an actual halberd piece in the black monarch/ black knight Era of the 90s
I only have two armies, a combination of both Kingdom/Castle and the very few elves on one side, the other is the Kingdom and orcs, because they make a tough army.
Jast love the vikings nothing beat them
Personally, I would use the original Fright Knight minifigures for Basil’s army, and the original sand green orcs for my Orc faction, with the CMF orc as the Orc Prince.
