Riverwood's new music video for Dying Light from the album Shadows And Flames is here!
Watch the worlds breakdown and crash
The human race will turn to dust
The storm will crawl beneath the skies
Once I give the word
I'm the king I'm the chosen one
The snow and the sands are serving me
The desert monsters will rise again
Once I give the word
Day after day
Night after night
No matter how strong you will fall
I'll be the one to take your soul
And send it to the gods I'll slay you all
Step into the temple of death
Descend to dark
Life forever gone
As the world breaks down and burns
The human life will disappear
The storm will conquer the world and ends
Once I give the word
The sun will burn all the living souls
The moon will summon the wolves
You'll hear the sound of the breaking bones
As I Break your soul
Day after Day
Night after night
No matter how strong you will die
I'll be the one to rule the earth
And I will make sure there is no rebirth
The Medjay of the Pharaoh has died
Descend to dark
Life forever gone
As you walk the valley of the light
I will see you wherever you hide
On destruction the shadows will remain
And the bodies of those
Who have suffered until the end
Fear and pain
Screams of fright
Torture and chaos
The fall of an empire
Somewhere far beyond this world
I can taste reward
That is waiting and wondering
If I will ever fall
The fear has devoured all the light
And they have begged for one last breath
My sweet child
So be wise and start running for your life
The world has crashed and burned
In the end no one is still alive
Under the dying light
The fear has devoured all the light
The fear has devoured all the light
And they have begged for one last breath
My sweet child
So be wise and start running for your life
The world has crashed and burned
In the end no one is still alive
The fear has devoured all the light
And they have begged for one last breath
My sweet child
So be wise and start running for your life
The world has crashed and burned
In the end no one is still alive
Under the dying light

I just found Bloodywood and now I find Riverwood. thank you algorithm.
♥️🤘🤘🇪🇬
Same 😂
The algorithm has been chucking up some great stuff lately!
Same...just now. Found Holy Name, as well!
@@s-boy4613 Thank you very much for the kind words ❤️❤️❤️
Finally the TH-cam algorithm gave me something incredible when I searched for Egyptian Heavy Metal, this is absolutely amazing!
Thanks Joshua ❤🤘 glad to have you on board
Me and you both brother this is epic
Not egyptian, but Narjahanam is one of my favorite bands.
Maybe you will like it (Search for "Wa ma khufiya kana a'atam" album)
This is a fucking bad ass tune. Awesome vocals. I like singers than can do more than just scream and growl. Some Indian Metal Belly Dancers led me to this video, besides turning me on. Then I heard these solos and I just love the melodic patterns over the egyptian influenced rhythm riff underneath. I'm on board 🤘
Under a heavy palm muted hand we unite!!!
I would fly around the world to see a Myrath and Riverwood concert. Nothing can bring the world together like Music.
That would be amazing 🤘❤️🇪🇬
@@RiverwoodOfficial you should guys come to Europe.
@@patrykstarfish274 One day hopefully we will 🇪🇬❤️

Thank you responding brothers
Rock on
Under heavy palm muted hand we unite!!!
A video by Bloodywood led me to Indian Folk Metal, and after half a dozen videos I found myself on an Indian belly dancing video. Then you were next up in the list.
As an audio engineer in Arizona, USA, I'm always searching for new music, bands and styles that I believe together we'll unite the world. Come on, we all want the same things......freedom, opportunity, to learn, to share, to understand and to enjoy life to the best of our ability.
Thank you all for doing what you do. You all are a part of this unification process. 🤘
Thank you very much for your kind words ♥️ Peace ✌️🤘♥️🇪🇬
i honestly did not expect those vocals. First time listener. Mind is blown!
Thank You Very much ❤️❤️❤️
I know of this band because we use much of their music on Monday night when some friends of mine and myself do Middle Eastern and North African dancing .
Thank You Very much ❤️❤️ this makes us all rly happy 🤘🇪🇬
I'm an Egyptian-American metal fan, been looking for bands out of Egypt forever but never find anything (except Europeans labeling their style "Egyptian"); excited to have finally discovered y'all! You sound great! If anyone has suggestions for other Egyptian metal or punk (or even post-punk) bands please let me know.
❤️❤️🇪🇬
I saw Scarab live in Dubai, they were sick.
Odious/cressent
check massive scar era... they are from Alexandria, Egypt.. and they are rather different
You want to know lots of Egyptian death metal music I know them all best of everything and the stuff I do as well soon end of 2025 I'll have my first single track here's my top five Egyptian death metal I follow and Riverwood I just discover this band a few days ago 1# Scarab 2# Apep 3# Crescent 4# MA'AT 5# Aeternam and more
Oh my dear God!, although I'm Egyptian, I've never imagined that Egyptians could shred like that!, not even in my wildest dreams!, I'm so proud that we finally have a local replacement for western metal (in case we needed to boycott them for any reason or something 😈)... Keep rocking, friends! ❤️🤘🏻🏴☠️
Thank you very much for the kind words ❤️❤️❤️🇪🇬🇪🇬🤘
Yes indeed, I am a guy from Germany and I totally agree with you to boycott western style, but I boycott islamic extremists, we need freedom and liberty, no matter where we are from and what religion somebody is believing in!
I lived in Cairo for 8 years (I'm not Egyptian) we used to try to get to gigs but they always got cancelled last minute (Mubarak era). I knew an Egyptian metalhead girl who wore a black hijab with little skulls all over it :D Anyway, this is good :)
@Frikadieb Just curious, why would you want to boycott Western metal?
Wow! Guys you are just incredible! Greetings from the old Viking lands: the North greets the South!
Thank you so much
Much love from the middle East ❤❤
Hell yes! My friend told me since I loved bloodywood I’d love this band and he was spot on! This rocks! Metal is the voice of the world!
Thank You Very much 😊❤️🇪🇬
We are honoured 🤘
I really dig the Egyptian vibes in this. Will definitely have to check out the other tracks.
Thank you ❤️

Was listening to Narjahanam and I got here! Fantastic song, I'll have to check out your guys' other work!
It's beautiful to see how metal unites people of all cultures around the world! \m/
Cheers from Washington state, USA! 🇺🇸
Thank You so much 🤘♥️
I hope you know Melechesh. They are the kings of Middle Eastern metal.
Narjahanam is top 2.
You have also some solid Egyptian bands, one from Germany that plays death. Also Nile but it's too brutal to her clearly the middle eastern influence.
Anyway, nothing beats Melechesh and Narjahanam
@LordAbhor Of course, Melechesh rules! I hope they haven't disbanded, it's been almost a decade since their last album.
I had no idea that there was metal in Egypt until now, and why didn't the algorithm throw this my way sooner?! This is excellent stuff! Melodic, heavy, powerful, well played, excellent production values, strong clean and growling vocals, dynamic as all get out, and in general? Kudos to you guys for making this happen! Well done!
Thank you very much ❤️❤️🇪🇬
I typed in Egyptian Metal Music because I am looking for that middle eastern flare mixed with Metal and this is absolutely fantastic!!
Thank You Very much ❤️❤️
Similar story here. I absolutely love the eastern sound and think it fits perfectly with metal music and just rock in general.
One of the best music tracks I've ever heard ❤️❤️❤️❤️
So Glad you loved it ✊
Thank you !!
Wow. This is something truly impressive. Serious talent on display.
Thank You 😊🤘
I feel so alive when I listen to this song. I love metal and music theory. I've been studying scales and I'm pretty sure I'm hearing loads of Phrygian / Phrygian Dominant in this piece. So good... So beautiful.... So awesome. I appreciate you guys!
Also Aeolian in the choruses... 😁
Hahaha exactly ..m there is also a Dorian in the song .. will let u discover it haha ♥️♥️♥️
@@RiverwoodOfficial I just read this comment. I think I found where Dorian shows up. It's one what I think would be considered the bridge. The progression is Cm, Bb, F, Cm. So it would be C Dorian, correct?

You have amazing vocals! Love the strings and choir! So so good! This is why I can’t just settle for the Beatles or Pink Floyd when I know better stuff is out there.
Thank You Nathan 🤘❤
I decided to check you out since Dylan McGowan from BangerTV gave your album a shoutout in his recent video. And I'm so glad I did! This is the most awesome progressive/symphonic metal I've heard in a long while! Thank you for making the music that has a soul :)
Thank you for taking the time and listening to this song ❤
We've just released a full album called Shadows And Flames
Feel free to check it out ❤🤘
Absolutely fucking love this song, and the album, which immediately impressed me at the outset, and had me rocking out all the way through. It's now my first favorite album of the new year, and like my all-time favorite, Ostura's "The Room," it's a 75 minute epic by phenomenal musicians hailing from the Middle East. In fact, I knew it would be amazing knowing just those two pieces of information, and you guys proved me right before the first song was over!
Cheers from the good part of the United States, and a guy who's listened to some 8,000 albums in the last 4 years!
Thank you very much for your kind words
So glad you love the album ❤❤

I forgot to recommend to check Riverwood's first LP "Fairytale" beacause that's simply awesome for sound, atmosphere, melodies, metal! If you like this one go asap to get that too :)
Oh yes , Fairytale is our first baby boy and we are happy that you love it as much as we do 🤘🔥🇪🇬
I just discovered and I I love that song ! I'll definitely seek other Riverwood songs !
At first sight at the video's beginning, even before the music, the visual reminded me of the Motörhead "Ace of Spades" album cover, may it be a coincidence or a hommage...
Then the music began, full of influences I've not yet sorted out, and enthralling with its mix of clear vocals and groans, visible oriental melodies, all that on a solid mix of power and symphonic metal background.
Thank You Very much for the kind words ❤️🇪🇬🇪🇬
❤..توبوا إلى الله لأن بالصلاح والاسلام تحيا النفوس والقلوب repent to Allah in Islam because by Islam live the hearts and souls
Great song, and I like the Egyptian touch, and of course all good music seems to have also keyboards involved.
I checked also the lyrics (hint: "everybody dies at the end") , and I noticed an interesting line:
No matter how strong you will die
I'll be the one to rule the earth
And I will make sure there is no rebirth
The Medjay of the Pharaoh has died
Descend to dark
Life forever gone
And now I wonder, what is "The Medjay of the Pharaoh " in here?
Ayyway, Google says the following "The Medjay were a semi-nomadic people. They are mentioned as early as 2400 BC, when Egyptian texts recorded them as warriors serving with the Egyptian military."
Thank you very much .. so glad you were THAT interested 🙌
As an Egyptian this makes me happy. Love the swordplay scene, gives it an old Dio feeling
Thank You so much ♥️♥️🇪🇬

I always thought Egyptian folk music would be great with Rock and Metal. This proves it! When I saw this was a 9 minute song I immediately had to hear it. Great tune, very ambitious and well done! Riverwood Rocks! From America! Will pick up the cd soon, hopefully on Bandcamp? (and good band name Riverwood!)
Thank you very much 🤘🇪🇬 welcome on board
Hi... Im a bone-marrow depth Egyptian, adoring this AWESOME hard rock genre. However guys, I didn't figure out what exactly did you mean with your mysterious lyrics !... If you really respect your audience, I'd appreciate clarifying your ultimate meaning, goal & message.
Anxiously waiting !
I just read the lyrics online. Asking the same question as you. The music and vocals and vocal melody are exquisite, but don’t quite grasp the lyrics.
Thank you for the interest behind the lore of our song
The song lyrics mainly resonate with the events surrounding the fall of the Babylonian empire back in 539 BC
The "king" described in the lyrics symbolizes the conquering force, Cyrus the Great, whose actions led to the downfall of Babylon.
The lines depicting the world breaking down, the storm conquering the world, and the rise of desert monsters symbolize the invasion and subsequent chaos caused by the invading Persian forces.
The descriptions of chaos , torture , fear and pain etc.. are meant to mirror the historical circumstances leading to the decline of the Babylonian Empire.
Hope that helps ❤️
