The U.S. Marines load ordnance during F-35B Lightning II ordnance operations aboard the amphibious assault ship the USS America (LHA 6), in the vicinity of Philippines Sea. Marine F-35Bs brings unmatched 5th-generation strike power, supporting joint all-domain operations in vital maritime regions. The Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) 31st is operating aboard ships of the America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific Region.
U.S. 7th Fleet is the U.S. Navy’s largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, and routinely interacts and operates with allies and partners in preserving Indo-Pacific region. Then Marines assigned to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), prepare an F-35B Lightning II fighter aircraft from Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) for takeoff in the Philippine Sea.
