  • Diggle Diaries: An attempt to film all daylight running freight and interesting workings from Diggle Junction. Situated on the picturesque Trans-Pennine, Manchester to Huddersfield and Leeds route, Diggle Jn lies at the top of a steep incline leading into Standedge Tunnel. Providing beautiful scenery, varied freight and trains working hard up the hill, there aren’t many better places for a bit of trainspotting.
    This month includes:
    - Flying Scotsman on her 100th Birthday
    - Scotrail Push Pull set heads home from Scotland
    - GBRF 69007 on the Drax
    - Colas grid back in action
    - Northern 'Intelligent Train'
    - And much more...
    Thanks for watching!

    Fantastic camera 🎥 work capturing some fantastic traction in the north west of England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 That 47 push pull set is absolutely amazing and a credit to all the guys at Crewe for turning out such an ionic train set 👍🏻

      @DiggleJunction  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks a lot mate! It’s absolutely stunning, I love that that era of our railways is starting to come back to preserved and older traction. Hopefully soon we’ll get something outshopped in Load Haul black and orange (an era later than the push pull set granted).

    How's about from April rebranding as Pennine Diaries? All the coverage on this video would fit that title too

      That’s a good idea Geoff! The closure has fortuitously fallen whilst I’m away but hoping to bring a special episode from the Far East when I get back.

    Fantastic video! The Scots looked mega! When are the grids meant to be out? They aren’t usually on this line.

    • @DiggleJunction
      @DiggleJunction  ปีที่แล้ว

      The grid was replaced by 70’s for the daylight workings, typical!

    Another great watch, and the multiple shots of Scotsman etc gives a more immersive result. Your pieces to camera are really helpful and look forward to the webcam when you are ready. More drone footage, yes indeed! Keep up the good work!👍😀

    Great content and an interesting comparison between the trans Pennine loco-hauled stock and the old MK 3's and 47. With the exception of a modern, more environmentally friendly prime mover, is there really that much improvement? Looking forward to the webcam. :-)

    Why do you mention in the opening text on screen that you want to record "daylight" freight? Why limit yourself? Some of the nocturnal captures are amongst the best. 😎

    • @DiggleJunction
      @DiggleJunction  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good point, I might need to get rid of that bit haha. I try to get ALL daylight and as much nocturnal stuff as I can. I used to think people wouldn’t wanna see the night stuff! Thanks a lot Leonard 👍 very much appreciate it.

    Another good one. Great to see the Flying Scotsman, even with the one "comedy"-looking coach consist.
    I thought I would tell you, you have inspired me to make a "rag pudding" this weekend. I mentioned it to quite a few friends from Northumberland and Cornwall, and they had never heard of it either.
    I would wager it will be THE ONLY rag pudding to be made in Texas USA this weekend (or possibly . . . ever! 🙂) I found what looks like a good recipe online, and I happen to already have some Atora on hand.
    Thanks for the inspiration, and, as always, for the videos. (Hey, perhaps extend the channel to cover Diggle's local culinary specialties! 🙂) ----Mike

      Haha that’s amazing Mike, I’d love to see the result if you could send me a picture of Texas’s only rag pudding (digglejunction@gmail.co.uk). Hello mate great video, just wondering, these biomass that go through, are they rerouted at a certain time at night ,because they normally go through the Calder valley.

    • @DiggleJunction
      @DiggleJunction  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks a lot mate. The Huddersfield line past Diggle is quicker and more direct but heavily congested with transpennine in the day so they go via the Calder Valley. At night there’s less going on so they can come up the Hudds. Hope that helps explain things, cheers for the comment.
