Thank you for watching it! I know Brian's comedy isn't for everyone but it is one of my favourite series of videos on youtube and I find myself rewatching them a lot and wondered what you would think. Honestly I have never played half the games but I still enjoy the videos. Polygon mostly does instructional or in depth drives into video games and Brian joined and kinda did something else with it (fans usually joke that the unravelled videos are him becoming unravelled by the end rather than the thing he is talking about)
I'm glad you enjoyed even a little bit of it at the end and stuck with it even if you didn't think it was exactly your thing.

You should watch the actual video then, instead of this glorified repost.

"if you're good enough you can talk to them in real life" made me laugh so much

BDG is so GOOD. Glad to see you get a chance to see more of his stuff. He has his own channel which has its own universe of vibes, similar and different ti unravelled. I think you'd actually like his personal channel a lot more

As a history major, BDG's point about unreliable narrators is something that many people today need to understand. There is a reason why history professors go for 1 (or several) primary source documents, 8 scholarly books, and 3-4 journal articles.
Information isn't necessarily static - and for a class focused on the history of Ancient Rome, surviving sources aren't necessarily wholly truthful. It heavily relies on you being the one responsible for compiling and reading through different sources. And even when you think you got the knowledge down pat, you might uncover details that shine a different light and allow you to see the topic from a different angle.
It consumes a LOT of time trying to do proper research on any topic but once you get used to the process, it becomes easier. Research with a vast array of sources makes your point stronger because not only does it help provide information; it shows that you are taking your argument seriously while also providing a comprehensive list of where you found the evidence.

His video got me to actually read Palla, and I gotta say, it was legitimately really interesting.

I was just like to say, in the words of the daughter of the Palla story heroine "Palla is not my mother, Palla is the name of the monster".
