    You can see the pride in that clean little town. Love the fact that they'll never allow people to tear down the history of the town. Great story

      I live here and they tear down houses and historic structures all the time.

      No one would tear down a Union statue because it doesn't represent racism. But Kim who you say is a wonderful gal made a mildly racist ad which would have caused the town founder to cry.

      @@HistoryMysteryMan I'm on the Planning and Zoning Commission and support the Pella Historic Trust. But sometimes, the zoning isn't enough to preserve old structures which is sad.

    Stayed in Pella last time I came across from Australia for the Knoxville Nationals. It is such a beautiful friendly town.

    I grew up in pella many years ago. It was great seeing how not much has changed in the town since I was there

    I think I've found the place I want to go and live.
    I love small towns like you do.
    I don't think you can find a better one then Pella .

    Changed a lot since I was a kid when we had two dime stores, five hardware stores and no Dutch fronts. However, you could hear Dutch conversations on the sidewalk uptown. A lot of the houses on my paper route have disappeared.

    In your first video from Pella I mentioned that my wife and I have always stayed in Des Moines when going to Iowa Speedway. Thanks to you, that has changed for our next visit to Iowa. After seeing this video, my wife is adamant that we need to get to Pella whether we're going to see the races or not.

      I grew up close to Pella. I went to school in Pella... Trust me, that's not far enough South to avoid winter. :)
