most of the surface has its edge, rib or corner on which you have to land them, wall jump works on flat surfaces too, but it does not increase your flying speed. I recommend you to practice it on car from 0:13 second in the video. It is difficult to describe it in words. The best advise is to watch the video on slower speed and try to practice it in custom lobby. I think you will understand how it works after few tries. So good luck buddy!
Nah why does it seem like when II watch videos of people doing movement my character looks and feels so much more clunky and the dashes don't go as crazy as they do in the videos as well I swear lol
It could be you are not good at it. But, from my experience, doing something yourself never feels or looks the same like from the video because you are usually more focused ("in your head") and you dont pay attetion to the same things like when you are just watching. So even if someone else says that I am smooth with something, it never feels that way.

How I learned them, I just watched streams , and when I see any edge jumps, I just memorize them and go practice in custom lobby. I mean the best tip is just to repeat them until you feel the mechanic and land 3-4 times in a row. Also, you can rewatch certain moment in the video in lower speed. Hope you will get it!
