    Holy cow! I tried this exact recipe.
    Hands down best wings I have ever had. The sweetness of the glaze, with the salty peppery garlic! First you taste sweet, then all the other flavors. And that crunch... unbelievable! Also perfectly cooked!

    I need to try this.I have tried many recipes but I cannot replicate My Favorite restaurant here in California called FuRaibo. No recipe has even come close. I wish I could figure out their spice blend. They are the most addictive wings I have ever had. I have going there for 20+ years. Yep its that good.

      Thanks for watching! I love Furaibo. I lived in Nagoya Japan as a student and came to conclusion that It’s the best wing place from there. My recipe is Furaibo-inspired and tried making it as close as possible although having more sesame seeds. Hope you try this out and comment your thoughts.

      @@RegionalFoodJapan Thank you so much for your response! I really appreciate it. I think your recipe is the closest I have seen to it so I cannot wait to try it. However, I hope I am wrong in saying that is, but I am pretty sure they use other spices at the finish for to achieve that sweet and spicy flavor. Like finely pressed Japanese chili pepper blend and perhaps some brown sugar. I have come close but I cannot figure it out exactly. lol i have asked many times over the years but they will not tell me to spice blend at the end. Thank you once again and keep up the great work. I love traditional Japanese dishes.

      @AMMO1000HP I’m very sure they don’t use chilli pepper. The sweetness comes from Mirin. Brown sugar is not common in Japanese cuisine. This is actually the recipe I learnt from a guy who used to work there 10 years ago or so, if he didn’t lie and they haven’t changed the recipe, this should be the closest. The difference would the brands of the seasonings. Hope you enjoy.

      @@RegionalFoodJapan Very interesting! Thank you! I hope you are right and I will test it out for sure. Perhaps the owner here in LA made a modification to the original/traditional recipe because there is definitely a fine dry rub sprinkled at the end that is very sweet and spicy after the frying process. You can clearly see it the fine powder. I cannot post a photo here but I have taken some photos in efforts to figure it out. They really hold this recipe very close to outsiders so no luck in replicating it yet. I will report back if your interested once I figure it out but I will obviously try your method first to see if it brings me any closer to the original. Thank you!

    • @RegionalFoodJapan
      @RegionalFoodJapan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, modification is very likely. Perhaps the one in LA is a “Noren-wake” restaurant, a kind of business that is allowed by the original to use the same name after years of apprenticeship. In such restaurants, recipes can slightly be modified.
